For what its worth, I found this gun's a great contender for Primary Frostbite, the arcane that stacks off of cold status. Build it up with primary fire, cash in on the buffs with the secondary. Easy to maintain, too.
@@thunderlucas8923Bows benefit from reload as a fire rate buff more than anything, everything else reload or magazine related simply does not play with bows well if it does at all
So I like both firing modes and I figured out a way to use them both pretty well. So for those who like to use both firing modes try the following: in his primary build replace fast hands and rime rounds with crit chance and damage. It'll be a bit slower, and you won't get as many cold procs but you'll be able to pretty reliably use both firing modes if you wish. Besides, a 36% crit chance on with a high fire rate and a 300 round magazine is actually pretty decent.
Please try Plated Rounds on the Kuva Kohm next, with just Shotgun Barrage you can dump the entire 209 round magazine in 10 seconds, it has a much shorter reload time, and it's fully automatic so you're constantly pumping out damage.
that's a dumb move given that would basically nullify all use of ammo mutation mods and make the gun unusable because you'd chew through all the ammo not even a quarter way through a mission and that's just downright bad even for the sake of memes
@@theunhingedgamer3762 How does it nullify ammo mutation? With the massive damage bonus from Plated Round, you shred enemies and clear hallways, leaving tons of ammo pickups in their places, and with something like Vigilante Supplies or Shotgun ammo mutation, any secondary ammo drops will be turned into primary ammo pickups at whatever value your mutation mod allows, so after 1-2 magazines of enemies cleared, you're right back to full capacity and continuing to spray kuva flavoured death at your enemies. It's really quite nice, I use it on my Lavos and only stop shooting to recast a couple abilities to reapply Valence Formation elements.
if i recall internal bleeding actually takes into account individual firemodes, so the alt fire which has a low fire rate might actually get its double chance to proc slash. hell if i recall it also adjusts to mid mission buffs and debuffs to, so something that buffs your fire rate might actually cause you to lose that bonus proc chance
I am really thankful for this type of videos, not only because they're fun builds but mostly because I'm discovering new weapons that I've never heard of after playing this game for so many years. Amazing fun. I've also solved my own little problem of single target weapons: I use them on Kullervo and obliterate groups of enemies anyway. Or on Harrow and I have all the time I want to pick my targets. I really love the formula of this series, keep up the amazing work!
Ooooh a reason to revisit my beautiful Quellor. I initially wrote this off as mastery rank fodder because it played a bit too uniquely and I couldn't find any built that stuck with me, but I KEPT it because I absolutely adore the way it looks physically and wanted to continue using it just for style points.
DE really need to make more weapons like Quellor and Trumna while giving them their own category of "Machine gun" or something. And like bows have pinning to the walls or sniper rifle have combo system (this one really have to be changed), they need to have some sort of unique mechanic like consecutive shots deal more damage/vulnerability. Or even give them their own style of base damage increase where constant firing increase damage to the certain cap and letting weapon cool off for a few seconds start dropping buff off like merciless and deadhead does. They're really cool as a concept and stats are pretty good but 8 mod slot system make them atrociously weird to mod for. You need to have holy trinity of crit+status for them. They almost require a bit of firerate, punch through and reload speed. That's just... A lot of mods to plan... While giving them relatively low base damage. This probably sadden me the most. Why DE...
These are absolutely my favourite guns and i would LOVE more. I always have synth fibre and deconstruct on my sentinel so with something like the trumna or quellor just a quick melee then back to the gun will give 20-30 ammo. I actually dont think they need more mods or anything given trumna/quellor have the innate heat and cold respectively that give them a bit extra for CO and the status effects themselves while saving a slot, and the trumna is more than good enough to hold its own in most endgame content I run like EDA, netracells, archons.
@@caseymantle2097 I'm not saying they're bad. Absolutely not, especially taking new changes to the status's into account. They're prime example of how to make a chonky and powerful weapons. And base damage is needed for crits and status to scale. That's what sadden me the most. Again. I love these to the death and I hope DE will bring us more weapons like these ❤️
Quellor, my favorite of the Stahlta family! ^_^ Good chunky feel/sound and lots of power and Primary Deadhead + Tactical Reload fixes most of its issues easily. With built in Cold and high status chance on the primary fire, it's also an easy candidate for Corrossive/Blast once the Jade update drops with the massive Blast buff. Tip: Every percentage of magazine that's reloaded while holstered counts as a separate reload for Reinforced Bond, meaning instantanous and consistent full overshields and thus the 60% fire rate boost on any companion. No need to limit yourself to a companion with high enough base shields + Calculated Redirection to get the buff consistently ^^
One weapon that I felt synergised well with plated rounds is the gotva prime, 200 rounds can be expelled in less than 10 seconds with some fire rate, and because it's rapid fire not 50 rounds per bullet, it's a lot more versatile for regular play
I prefer Harrow for speed and reload buffing....I can maintain it longer bc both duration and efficiency improve his abilities.... efficiency let's you wind up more E per kill....I can get to over 100 e per kill and then he chews through everything. Every now n then I gotta jump up on something and cast 2 then hildryns helminth ability to get all the overshields back. Rinse and repeat.
Feel like there's a decent amount of stuff in the game that is a cool concept, just needs tweaked to become effective. Plated rounds is definitely high up on the list.
the buff from plated rounds should decay over time! that'll still encourage people to use it on weapons with large magazines while giving us time to actually make use of the arcane
I use this as my gimmicky Garuda shipwright build, that uses this, the Athodai and either her claws or the pennant, and its... surprisingly busted xD Like not levelcap, I think, I never build for that as I don't find running the same endless mission for hours enjoyable for ME, I like making wonky builds that are just... weird... Like an anti-death khora that uses a vasca, venari bodyguard, masters summons in case the vasca goes down to allow for a pseudo 9 lives kinda setup, or a parasitic armor protea build xD
another one I like to use with plated is either the ambassador or the tenet tetra, with the tetra being extra good since it just dumps the whole mag with one boom.
Great vid man! A question, when the new changes to status come to the game, are you going to rebuild any weapons or just stick with reviewing "new" ones?
gonna test that primary fire build whenever I pick it again, it will certainly still obliterate anything (without those nasty damage attenuations from recent (semi)bosses at least) just as typical. The Quellor is one of the most strong guns to hit Damage Cap after all. (Multiplicative CO scaling AND typical headshot multipler on Alt-Fire).
Another weapon that can follow this train of thought is the Ambassador with Primed Magazine Warp for a ~400% Bonus and 3 charged shots before reloading, pretty expensive on the Forma though.
Plated Rounds needs another 5 - 10 seconds to it's max level to be useful. Otherwise it's more beneficial to run something like Primary Deadhead for overall consistency and damage uptime. Like yeah, 500+ damage after reloading sounds amazing until you realize your mostly wasting it on a fodder enemies, then it doesn't make much sense.
First build was better with primary deadhead, take of the reload and add critical decelerarion and use primary to prime with viral and second shot to delete the room. That is my build
Could you do a video on augments, arcanes, ect. that should be buffed? I feel like there are a lot of things in the game that don't really serve a purpose but if they were tweaked slightly would make for useful additions, kinda like when melee prowess was just uselessly weak. Imo if we didn't get an update for a full year while DE just improved and finished what they already have, it'd be time far better spent. Also, thank you for actually critiquing WF every so often, you always provide solutions or alternatives to issues you find which is an attitude I appreciate.
wait it has a secondary fire? ive never knew about it until now lol. tbf i have so many blueprints of it and i only built 1 for mr and then sold it immediately
Quellor is better used as a Hybrid weapon, prime with the primary fire and slash bomb them with alt. Kills pretty much any target in only 1-2 slash ticks.
Dax held no power, they serve who ever have a stick... Nah! Jokes aside, thanks for the build I got a Quellor riven and don't even try to use it, now I trying this one
The quellor's alt fire has always been too ammo hungry for me to ever concievably consider building for it, so I always just go with viral slash build, and then save alt fire for tankier enemies like acolytes where it just melts
i think you shouldnt even use plated rounds at all. Just like you said, the buff lasts too short. The arcane works best with weapons that have big magazine, but you cant use the damage buff for the entirety of your next mag because it just lasts too short. Its counter intuitive and really annoying
I have a negative impact and a negative puncture riven on this....impact takes off too much base damage....the negative puncture mod has CC and multishot.....with plated rounds its nuts....its over 500% i know and im not maxed rank yet. It just mows everything down....this might be my favorite auto rifle....this or Tenet Flux or Telos Boltor Incarnon..

For the Plated Round build: Holstered reloading wouldn't work anyways: Everything related to reload treats those as lots of tiny reloads, so you'd only get a ~30% damage bonus instead of near-600%. You managed to completely forget to put any Crit Chance on it despite putting on crit DAMAGE and the entire alt-fire being purely crit based. The complaints about how it behaves in normal missions are totally irrelevant and don't make any sense because you don't do runs with only one rifle, you have other tools to use WITH IT. You could have put in a TINY bit more effort to actually find a fun build there but instead you just faffed around for 30 minutes doing nothing meaningful. Then the boring build was kinda whatever, Rime Rounds was massive overkill and should have contributed to bolstering another multiplier: Dropping Accel and Rounds for Creeping and Vital? Also you pronounced the gun's name wrong, 'quell' is a word, you want a 'kwe' sound not a 'keh' sound. Terrible episode all around, really disappointed.
The first build was basically ''Let's grab an LMG with an underbarrel shotgun, and only fire the shotgun.''
For what its worth, I found this gun's a great contender for Primary Frostbite, the arcane that stacks off of cold status. Build it up with primary fire, cash in on the buffs with the secondary. Easy to maintain, too.
Even better - build up Gal. Aptitude and Scope with primary, group up a bunch of enemies, then wipe them out with secondary fire
@@hallowfiended That’s not better, not even close.
3:35 Holster reload doesn't work for Plated Round, it counts the gradual reload so it gives a very small buff that constantly refreshes.
