    Here in MD Slippery Elm, Tulip poplar if can find them are good early spots. Last 2 days I've found 3 super small Grey's that are under my Sycamore tree. They are just coming out now, we had war. Weather in March and yellows came out early. We had cold, rainy weather which set them back. Now it warmed up to 60's and it's dry and much warmer day and night. They pretty much mature same time each year. I keep a log on time, place etc.

      Very nice, you are correct. Elms are one of my favorites for sure we just don't have many red elm around.

    love you theroy bout the heat from the tree, heat and moisture is a big factor, habit change and stress are big ones to. 💚 from W.V. and happy hunting.

      Thanks, it is just a theory. Works with cottonwood too just don't have many in my area. Biggest patches I've ever found were fresh dead cottonwood trees.
