    I’m Japanese and I don’t usually make my bed! Especially in summer it’s so humid (as you already know), so it’s said that it’s better to leave the duvet or futon to dry to prevent mold or bed bugs!

    • @heratlas

      this is what someone else commented! I'm going to do this this summer!! Also, thank you for watching my video

      I'm also really curious, how many categories do you separate your trash into in your Prefecture?

    • @Pero338
      @Pero338 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@heratlas I live in Kansai area, and in my prefecture we separate our general household trash into four categories. They’re burnable, non-burnable, plastic and plastic bottles, cans and glass bottles.
      Is is the same as in your prefecture?

    I love how realistic, but aesthetic this whole video is!! You find so much beauty in the everyday it lowkey gives me Ghibli vibes! Also I love making my bed but only because it's a futon and I just roll it away OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND

      I tried to make this more realistic and not add anything I don't actually do.. I usually enjoy morning routine's that are inspirational but... maybe I also like relatable! And it's really hard to not make it like a Ghibli film! Everything here is truly so beautiful

      I can't believe I just saw your video and it was uploaded 6min ago like I'm so lucky because I just wanted to say you inspired me to go to Japan so when I am like 25 I want to go to Japan ( I'm 10) thank you so much, for inspiring me and so many others. You're the best.

      @heratlas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@sandrabadr8010 The first time I came to visit Japan I was 25!! You know what is amazing? When I was your age, I had never left the country (my family could not afford it), so I would watch videos and television about people who live in other countries. I really liked the travel channel, too! We didn't have TH-cam yet. Those people inspired me SOOO MUCH... so here I am now!
      I think it's incredibly beautiful how this has come full circle. I hope you and your family are safe, and I hope you are doing well in school. Good luck, and don't give up on your dreams!

    • @kristinwight8465
      @kristinwight8465 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sandra- There are so many programs you can get involved in to help you reach your goal to go to Japan. Many home stays and study abroads while you are in HS. Look up local or maybe sate or even national Japanese societies. Some offer trips for minors etc. But they might also offer language classes and some cultural classes you might enjoy! I think travel is one of the most important dreams to have because it opens so many doors and opportunities for you no matter what you decide to do professionally. Even if it is just friends you make while being there, it enriches your life forever. I wish you the best of luck fulfilling your travel dreams! 💕

      @@heratlas I LOVE this! I’m 27 and often I feel like I’ve failed at certain things in life in comparison to the people that inspire me. I mostly follow people who are 5-10 years older than me and obviously, 5 years can make a dramatic difference, but I don’t know about their „struggles“ or what they had to work at at my age, because I see them at 32+ when things are already going their way. I watch your channel as well and admire your beautiful life in Japan, your nice house and your sweet dog. Knowing that you had to work at it makes me really happy. So thanks for sharing!

    You shouldn't make a bed, it traps all the germs etc in the sheets. It's best to pull the covers back and let the sun get to the bed and air out the slept in sheets. You can make it later in the day then if you want.

    • @heratlas

    So cute fun fact about the Genki 1 book. I took Japanese for two years in college and by my last semester we were on the Genki 2 book and we all found out that Mary and Takeshi all throughout the Genki series have this wild, whirlwind romance😂 It felt like a reality TV show. We only found this out towards the end of Genki 1 when we started reading all of the introduction dialogues at the beginning of the chapters and we went through it in the second book and it is so funny!!! Hopefully you enjoy their romance as much as we did😂

    Oh I meant to say the rubbish disposal is kinda interesting. We have: plastics, batteries/small electrical and metals (all in one bin), glass, cardboard, paper, compostable waste (food scraps and peelings) then a general waste bag for things that are non recyclable. The recycling bins (size of a big rubbermaid tote) go weekly outside our front door for pick up and the general waste every other week. The compost bin is the size of a wastepaper basket.

    My go-to quarantine breakfast I learned from tik tok of course lol but you beat egg and pour it into frying pan, move the frying pan around so the egg covers the bottom, then you put a large tortilla wrap directly on top so the egg sticks to it. Wait a min or so then flip it. Add cheese and fold the tortilla over. Add to plate and then I top with avocado and the jalapeño aioli from costco. I ate that everyday for months lol

    Loved this video! And to your question at the end - screw “aesthetically pleasing,” I so prefer videos that feel off the cuff and natural, not something over produced! This was great, thanks for sharing!!

    im obsessd with Japanese/just everyones morning routine videos and can I say this one is really upi there for me. Well done! LIfe in japan fascinates me so much. Im also studying japanese using the genki books! You sound way further along. I dont mind making my bed if theres a pretty bedspread but if its not aesthetic i dont care. My favorite breakfast is actually a japanese one: miso soup rice vegies a poached egg in the microwave and natto. brings back good memories. thanks for the video please do more similar ones and what is your morning exercise routine?

    Love your videos. You are so sweet and I love seeing about life in Japan. I really want to visit there when travel is safer. My husband usually quickly makes the bed while I'm in the bathroom, so I don't really have to deal with it. Lol. By the way, don't know how much it helps you out, but I used your code and ordered some Native deodorant. Love your 7-11 and food videos, also the beautiful pottery. Have a great day!

      Hi June! Thank you for watching! Have you been to Japan before? if not, I bet you can't wait to come. I truly cannot wait to see visitors around again - its sooooo quiet, its a little sad in some places! You're so lucky your husband takes care of it!!!!! We have a rule "last one out" makes it because we BOTH dislike it. I'm really excited for you to try Native! One of my friends put me on the charcoal one a few months ago, so when we started working together it was a no brainer. YOU WILL LOVE THE SMELLS SO SO MUCH!!

    Hmmmm ... kimchi omelette.... must try. January and the word ‘spring’ for a Canadian doesn’t match for at least 4 more months ... you lucky lady - except no skiing or skating ... fun video. Gus-Gus play time rules! Have a great morning! Do they have peameal/Canadian bacon over there?

    I love my native deodorant!! it's the only natural deodorant that doesn't make me smell when I sweat and the scent LASTS during the day.Cucumber mint is my go to.

    Don't know about easy but how about some turkish eggs? just boil the eggs, cut them up and drape them on a plate. Then pour some yoghurt mixed with garlic. Then heat butter put in some red pepper and salt when its fluid. Stir and then quickly pour over the eggs and the youghurt. Super yummy with toasted bread. Just be careful to use greek yoghurt and not a sweet one. Wishing you a nice time in Japan. I lived there for a while too. Love it.

    I like the way the bed looks when it’s made so I always do it 😭 when my husband wakes up I run downstairs to fix it haha. I was about to say your garbage separation seems more strict than mine but then I counted all the stuff I separate and it’s about the same 😂

    I never make my bed 🥴😅 in the winter, we usually use throw blankets for sleeping and they kinda just get bundled by our cat and dog. Plus we only have our sleeping pillows and no extra ones, which is way different than my in-laws house where her guest room will have like 8pillows on the bed 😵

  • @Wickednell

    I make the bed about half the time. The husband likes to come home during lunch and take a nap so it usually gets messed up mid day.
