    Well, making this video took longer than I expected, and only because I spent more time playing and enjoying this little device than actually recording... The MicroFreak from Arturia is such a nice companion to VCV Rack, able to connect in various levels at the same time like sequencing voices in VCV, acting as a Midi controller for hands-on experience tweaking parameters in VCV, and even receive sequences and modulation from VCV.
    Thank you, Arturia for sending me the MicroFreak!

    Would just like to add a quick something: I very much liked what happened when I accompanied Microfreak's own voice - playing chords/pads in paraphonic mode - by a VCV arp driven by that same pitch information (or, yes, a +/- 7th).

    I was wondering if I needed to buy a DC coupled audio interface for opening to the vast world of vcvrack with my matrixbrute... It seems that I don't have to to have great fun since it has the same midi interfacing than the microfreak. Was I missing something? Sorry for the noob question

    Hi Omri, I wanted to thank you once again for the excellent work on your videos and ask if you could give me a hand. It is with respect to the part of the video where the Quantum gate cable goes to the CV-MIDI gate input and the sequence is activated when the CLOCKED module is RUN. It works without problems with Microfreak, but when replicating the same procedure with another device (Novation Circuit), there is a different behavior: Circuit always generates a sound (hanging note), from the moment it is connected, that is, it never stops playing, which is a little annoying. Any ideas on how to prevent Circuit from emitting signal when idle?

    • @OmriCohen-Music
      @OmriCohen-Music  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, doesn't it have something like a VCA or something like that? Are you sending the sound back into VCV?

    Hi Omri... Arturia is very wise to send you their new gear.. just bought a microfreak after seein' this... :-)
    Just a question. Is the audio signal flow on this video like this?
    Microfreak -> interface -> Reaper -> Rack (via ReaRoute) -> Reaper (via ReaRoute) -> master output.
    I ask because I'm a Logic user, and doing something like this (through soundflower in the place of ReRoute) causes lags and latency, so I'm thinking about trying Reaper.
    Thanks for your wonderful work!

    • @OmriCohen-Music
      @OmriCohen-Music  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate it :) You will love the recent update also, it adds so much...
      About the routing, yes, that's correct. Reaper is where everything lands and get routed from there. There will always be latency though and it will depend on your buffer settings among other things. I'm not familiar with soundflower but ReaRoute works great for me. It's on Windows only though.

I got all sorts of clicks and pops and what not, that I didn't have with the Steinberg. • @nebulance4289
      @nebulance4289 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to plug it in to a mic input or an audio interface to send sound through. None of the USB connections transmit audio data, it only transmits update or MIDI information.
      If your computer has a mic input on the back, you can plug it in there and set it up as a "Microphone", not the greatest audio quality but can work as long as you select the mic with the VCV audio module.
