    Well explained sis. I think the choice comes down to one’s preference, although FLP is a faster route in terms of completing exams (which is GREAT!), the traditional route for me does of emphasise more on understanding the content of each of the pillars better.

      Thank you. I completely agree with you. If possible I will opt for FLP because the strategic content has been thoroughly covered in my course

    Such a great video. I'm at strategic level and fully recommend the traditional route. People I study with really fail the FLP route because of the lack of focus on the core modules. Traditional PQ route is the best.

      I think I would recommend the FLP to people who have done honors because they have already went through the content at strategic level in great detail

    @Precious about 4/5 months back,CIMA introduced FLP Foundation phase, so now you can take FLP from the certificate level, take your competencies to drive you into your first pillar (the operational level)
    When it comes to cost i think FLP is cheaper, i think its also easier to have to do competencies rather than the objective tests but i agree the case studies should be more challenging simply coz the build up towards them wasnt as intense...and also it will trickle down to personal preference, what you want, how you want to approach it, also with private tuition providers there is 1 or 2 year subscription option that you have to pay for once off usually just over 50% of the amount upfront then the rest in equal amounts in the following months so i think this is another con in FLP coz not everyone has that kind of money just laying around,but i was advised that if i start from Cert level, a 2 year subscription makes sense however when you start with case study on manegerial level then a 1 year should be fine
    Anyways good luck with your exams

    • @preciousnotico
      @preciousnotico  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wasn't aware of the FLP foundation phase. Thanks for the info. FLP is definitely easier than objective test but I think one needs to ensure they thoroughly prepare for the case study.
      Thank you 🫶

    If you have attempted CTA but didnt pass but you were obviously exposed to Maf (Managerial Accounting and Finance) at CTA Level. does that help you in anyway when doing CIMA?

    About the practical work (articles), will the work experience in audit qualify as practical work or I need to start with a company that provided CIMA articles specifically ?

    • @preciousnotico
      @preciousnotico  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No you don't need CIMA articles specifically. As long as your job allows you to meet the competencies on the practical experience requirement (PER)

  • @ntandoyenkosingidi
    @ntandoyenkosingidi 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi precious,
    Say for example you want dual designation.. you get a job (CIMA) related are you going to start over with articles when you go for CA(SA) which route is best/ better to start with between SAICA and CIMA?

    • @pheaganemokoena5657
      @pheaganemokoena5657 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What do you want?i think thats more of a self question...you just choose which you think will benefit you most to build a foundation on

    • @preciousnotico
      @preciousnotico  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you get a CIMA related job and you are already on the CIMA path, it's best to continue with and qualify as a CGMA then you can simply write the APC, then you'll be dually designated. Under the new agreement you don't need to serve SAICA articles as a CGMA. In terms of which route to start with I think start with the one that aligns with your interests and aspirations the most at the moment then you will make the decision to go to the other one once you've qualified. You might even find that you don't want that anymore

    Hi Precious - super helpful video thank you! Hoping you can provide guidance.
    My exemptions put me at Management level. With PQ it shows I would start at Management CS.
    I am in 2 minds on 1) whether to do FLP 2) whether to take the exemptions.
    I have been out of university for a couple years (currently working). I fear that I have lost the “foundational knowledge / education”. Jumping into Management Level may be very tough vs starting from scratch with the Cert.
    do you know if the levels build on each content wise?
    Any advice on what you would do in my position? THANK YOU!

    • @preciousnotico
      @preciousnotico  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello. to an extent the modules are built on each and the concepts are further expanded or new concepts are introduced as you move up the levels. I did not do the cert/operational levels because i was exempted so I wouldnt if they will affect you at strategic level. my advice would be to take the exemptions and find a tuition provider that will give you study material and mock questions based on the preseen. although E2 F2 P2 are important theorical pillars, application and analysis are more important

      @@preciousnotico Hi - I am in the same situation as the comment above. I don't understand why for FLP I get exempted up to the management level and the self-tailored path I start at the Management Case Study.

    Does FLP provides the same level of preparation for case study as the traditional route? If it doesn't, what is the best way to cope with this ?

    • @preciousnotico
      @preciousnotico  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I will be able to answer this question better once I have done FLP but from what I heard, FLP doesn't prepare as well as the traditional route because most people aim to just complete FLP and learning is not reinforced with tests as the the objective test in the traditional route. The best way to cope would be to ensure that you prioritize learning and understanding the content in FLP instead of wanting to simply complete it
