Lively is a foundational piece. I'm blown away. We absolutely stole him with the 10th pick. He's been this good all year. 🙏
He's by far the best inside player and defender in the NBA. Should've been DPOY and First Team. He will win 8 titles and shut down every opponent inside to 0 pts 0 rebs while Lively gets 15 pts 15 Rebs. 7 blocks every game and the stupid ny la minnesota Atlanta media still won't put him as First Team Defense

He can be a great player and hof. He is 15% better than the beginning of the year. The best part is that he will be 20% better in 2-3 years. Kids still..well..a kid. Luka is still going to be getting better for 5-7 years as well. Kyrie is in his prime now and a smarter player than ever. We have an extremely bright future for the next few years. Whether we win a ring or not this year I'm very confident we will next year because we have all the main pieces we need, we could use a better bench and it wouldn't hurt to have another consistent 15-20 point starter with good defense. Getting Lively, Gafford, Washington and DJJ in one year is crazy and best case scenario.
Thank goodness we tanked that late regular season game vs the Bulls last year. If we beat the bulls we probably end up picking 11th and that pick goes to NY!!!

I feel like Jaden Hardy deserves some recognition. Lately he has been making the right plays and not forcing anything. I'm glad he's getting some kind of minutes.
Facts ..it’s not easy to just come in and play in the playoffs after not playing for a lot of the season and for large stretches..he has a lot of confidence
Hardy would be starting on 3/4 of all NBA Teams including Minnesota. He has superstar written all over him. Kidd did say the Exum experiment is done and that for the remainder of the playoffs Hardy will be the reserve point guard.
Lively has to guard luka doncic and kyrie Irving everyday in practice 😅
I love how hardy capitalizes on his few minutes. I thought after last year that he would take the step to be that Tim hardaway flame thrower, but I don’t think that’s what they want him to be. I think they have him studying to be a mix between Luka and Kai. Training him to pass first and score when needed. Hardy has been coming out passing first and love it. It’s a small sample size. But the fact that exum nor hardaway can seem to be semi productive in their minutes, but hardy finds a way to do SOMETHING is amazing. I pray he locs in this summer. Focus on guard play and defense and he can be special. If they invest the time and effort they out in Josh into hardy, he will be something special. If not a baby Kai, then a Tim 2.5….. he can be special
Hardy would be a starter on the Timberwolves book it. DJJ and Hardy are earning bags right now. I personally think Nico wanted to play Exum as much as he could to resign Hardy on the cheap, but winning a chip is too tempting, so they have to play him. 4 assists in 9 minute is insane. Ant could not stay in front of him. In fact my buddy pointed out that Hardy was the most effective facilitator in the paint last night. He was the one who figured out if you put Ant on your hip and hesitate it opens up Lively. Then Luka just took off after seeing that.
Now imagine we hit more 3's and maybe just a ✨touch✨ more Luka magic. I feel much more confident after this win. Our defense had Ant huffin and puffin 😆dude was getting TIRED
These guys owned us in the preseason overseas, and I know we didn't have Gafford or Washington yet, but I was expecting a rough 1st game. Our defense and chemistry in general might just be enough to break their circuits though, whether our shots fall or no..

You an def see Kyries impact as a leader and mentor. Hardys game has become killer because Kyrie is taking time to work with him.
3/4 games Dallas has lost, the opponent shot over 45% from 3. Hell… the clippers went like 50% and 60%. My question is, how many games has Dallas shot over 45% from 3? Kind of seems like teams need to have a very ON night to just get a W against them.

I just love that they shut up the talking heads on TV who are all behind the Wolves. They will never learn. The intensity of Lively, Gafford, Jones, and PJ is insane. Those offensive rebounds were huge. The good thing is, they won against a team that did not play bad, had bad luck or a bad shooting night or because of the refs. They won by being the better team plain and simple. This could be a long series, though, cause the teams are pretty even.
the crazy thing in my opinion is how many more 3 pointers wolves made that us.. how often are the mavs gonna shoot like 24% from 3. if we would have shot our 3 point average.. game would have been a blow out. I know that is a fallacy, but dont see the mavs miss that many open 3s again

The timing of Kidd's challenges were a little suspect, but it worked out and I felt like he coached a good game and came in with a great gameplan.

The Mavs have 2 elite defenders to check their top scorers…the Wolves can’t check Luka with McDaniels, and Ant is going to flame out trying to check Kai. It’s a HUGE problem for them in this matchup.

Wolves fan here, congratulations to the Maverick fans the defense was great as advertised, Luka and Kyrie a championship superstars, great win. Nick, welcome to Minnesota, maybe you can catch a Rangers game too. I heard they moved the Twins - Rangers game to 6pm as both Dallas teams are in Minneapolis Friday night. As a Wolves fan, I'm encouraged. Minnesota was still up by 4 with 3 minutes to play, Edwards, Towns, and Gobert were terrible, and I'm looking at Mav's fans receipts after you lost Game 1 in both your playoff series this year. Adjustments will be made, I totally thought Wolves would sweep Nuggets after winning both games in Denver, but things changed making 7 games.
