    The fight is still going on. We've came a long ways but we've got a fair bit yet to go. At the time of that story a woman couldn't do very many things. At the time my grandmother was in school she wanted to be a mathematics professor. In 1910's that wasn't impossible but it was very unusual and she faced a lot of resistance. But she was strong willed shall we say. But then WW1 came along and it would have been a couple years to finish school with a mathematics degree or she could get training as a secretary and graduate in 6 months. So she never got her mathematics degree - but it would have been possible. And now I work in a technology field with plenty of bright men and women and it's no big deal. But women still face a subtle and sometimes not so subtle bias against them all the way through school.

      It certainly is still going on. Maybe not so much as women unable to get jobs which were normally held by men, but the pay for the same job is unequal. That's very interesting about your grandmother. Thanks for sharing that. :)

    Tell us again why you refer to her as he?

    • @BradDison
      @BradDison  ปีที่แล้ว

      When I speak about her as Margaret, I refer to her as her. When I speak about this person as James, I say he. It's just to keep it from getting too confusing. It's an odd one for sure.

    You can have stretch marks from losing weight.

      That's true. I don't know if Margaret/James struggled with weight gain/loss. :)
