You are so lucky to have this cool new pedal !I don't have the first one (I'm more of a delay person) but this one makes me want to have a solid reverb to last a long time ! Anyway, it's a good video... (running gag) Great demo and great melodies with this magnificent guitar !
Thank you! And I definitely agree, I'm pretty lucky and Im still kind of in shock about the whole thing. Honestly, I'd love to see them release a TimeLine Mx and see what they could do with that. I love the running gag. lol. but thank you! :)
I kind of wondered if this two factor thing would be the next evolution after I saw the H90 approach and Source Audio’s dual algorithm options. Nicely done!
Only continued watching past the price tag because I enjoy you and your videos. Clearly this isn't for someone like me. There will definitely be many professional players who can justify the cost, but to me, it's absolute insanity. I'm also going to guess that it sounded SIGNIFICANTLY better in the room (again to justify the cost beyond just functionality). I'm listening with very good headphones, and whether due to the TH-cam compression, or something else, I just don't think the sound justifies the cost. Though again, it's important I clarify that's for me. More power to anyone who loves this and doesn't regret the purchase.
Well, thank you! I know the price tag isn't an easy pill to swallow for most people. I totally get it. I will say that I think it's justified in the context of what it's offering compared to the OG version. But, I get that's not everyone. I do think it's the best sounding reverb I've played in a long time. The only other pedal thats come close is the MercuryX. And yea! This pedal sounds far better in the room than on TH-cam. I definitely think this is the best sounding reverb pedal in quite sometime...but, I understand that's completely subjective. I tried my best to translate that to video. But, I'm sure Mark Johnston or Ambient Endeavors will successfully translate it because they're awesome and far better than myself at capturing how these pedals sound. But dude, no worries! I appreciate you supporting by watching. like it means a lot to me and I'm just glad you watched even after feeling like this pedal wasn't for you.
I can't quite explain why but this hits me the same way the Line 6 DL4 mkII did. Justifiably it's exciting. Rejuvenating an inarguable gamechanger. Wherein the gamechanger despite it's age & ubiquity & shortcomings after decade(s) of everyone else getting on their level still stack up to the competition. And if you were/had been using that gamechanger this news would be making you nut in your pants immaculately. However if, like myself, you weren't already using one; you see an excellent facelift, a 1/3rd price increase, and seriously good competition well below the price point. That said this'll sell millions and deserves to.
Honestly! Outside of the MercuryX and CXM1978 I havent found myself enthralled with the other big box offerings. It always felt like other big box offerings were playing catch up. And I’m not saying that any of the other pedals that are quite less are bad. I just felt like a lot of them didn’t do what the BigSky was already doing in any meaningful way that justified dethroning my BigSky (minus the exceptions I named). But this…this changes everything! It sounds amazing and the IR implementation is a huge game changer. But yea, this is gonna sell like crazy and rightfully so!
@@JasonTMays I would definitely shootout this, the two you mentioned, the Poly Verbs, Source Audio Ventris & the og Big Sky if I was looking for a monster stand alone verb. Then it's just what fits the individual player & hits their ears as the best. Odds are it's still a Strymon.
@@GitShiddy You know what since I have them, I think you're right and I'll definitely hop on making a shootout video. I need to play around more with Source Audio. I've heard great things about them but I haven't really sat down with the Ventris.
@@JasonTMays I have a Collider which does enough baseline delay & verb (though I do have a standalone add for each effect because I'm not midi'd up & a little limited). The Spring & Shimmer are highlight verb algorithms for me. But...grain of salt haven't put it up against Strymon or Meris.
And when the worship players continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without a bigsky among you, let him first cast a stone.
This just in! Strymon takes on Strymon!
There can only be victor...Strymon!
Nega Strymon
The Bloom setting will always Be the best reverb ever
I do love the bloom setting!
Good video, AMAZING intro logo and sound!
Thank you! Gotta hold it down for the PS1!

Good video, and congrats on the Strymon hook-up!
Thank you!!! This was a huge deal for me!
I was worried for a moment that there would be no dad rock test on such an expensive venture. Thank goodness.
Of course I'm not gonna miss any opportunity to dad rock on a pedal with this much hype.
Great video Jason, thank you!
Thank you!!!! 🙏🏾 😬

I'm glad more companies are starting to implement the dual algorithm feature! For me this is a godsend cause I stack reverbs like crazy.

Great Video! Now if I can find someone nice to let me borrow $679.00 .
Thank you!!! If you find them let me know...perhaps they can help me get a custom shop Jazzmaster. lol.
Lol. Will do
I'm my opinion the Strymon is currently the best reverb company. and the bigsky mx is their best reverb pedal.
I whole heartedly agree with this statement!
