- The Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 yesterday for their second Super Bowl in franchise history, and first for the team while in Los Angeles. Cooper Kupp was named MVP after catching two touchdowns, including the game-winner with less than two minutes left, while Aaron Donald had two of LA's Super Bowl record-tying seven sacks. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe share the biggest reason the Rams won.

Seeing Aaron Donald get emotional after the game during his interview, makes the Rams winning worth it. You can tell it was a lifelong dream of his and he wasn't just wanting a big check
But had the big check not been there you can be sure he would have been elsewhere.
Keep in mind that despite missing OBJ - the rams were also missing Tyler Higbee and Robert Woods.
Rams at full strength may be one of the toughest teams to beat in the nfl.
They managed to win the super bowl despite that they weren’t completely healthy.
And they lost their backup TE during the game.
They also didn’t have a 100% Cam Akers for the entire season.

i believe the game changed when Bengals O line ganged up and started shoving AD after he threw Joe out of bounds. they gave him the extra energy he needed, after that the pressure went from 100% to 120%, they literally poked the bear

As a Panthers fan, I’m sympathetic towards The Bengals - Von single-handedly deflated Cam’s ego in SB50 and sent the organization into a post-SB depression that it never recovered from… people really thought we’d be back eventually and now, 6 years later, practically no one from that season remains on the roster (minus, ofcourse, Cam - though he has not been the same since..). I’m wishing the Bengals all the best moving forward and hope their superstitious tendencies/beliefs don’t get the best of them following this loss.

Yet 3 on the last drive for the Rams. They literally called a unnecessary roughness on Von Bell for tackling Kupp to offset the only penalty that would of effected the Rams drive

Aaron Donald in the 4th quarter during the NFCCG and SB was terrifying.
You could see how bad he wanted it. He was there for every play and wasn’t giving up anything on his watch. Looked like he was damn near ready to give up his life for that ring. 😂 Dude is a force of nature, and when he’s motivated, well all I can say is good luck. That man is straight up built different.

The rams were clutched at the end, like have been the entire post season. It was like a life lesson watching them this year. No matter how bad it got, they never gave up or quit.
Clutch? They got 8 shots at the endzone inside the 10yrd line, Bengals had them stopped forcing 4th and goal from the 8-9yrd line and the refs started throwing flags left and right, 1st and goal from the 1 yrd line. I'm not a Bengals or rams fan, but the last rams touchdown was a gift, let them play all game and with 2 minutes left and the superbowl on the line the refs decided to start being sticklers? But in the first half when Ramsey stretched Higgins shirt from a medium to xxl no flag? Then inside the last two minutes flag on 3-4 straight plays? Even the hit on kupp in the endzone they threw a flag, when Weedle has been hitting recievers late all playoffs and getting away with it, did it in the superbowl and did it to Mike Evans a few weeks ago, way late.

You can argue a bad penalty called, but then again you don’t hear anyone complaining about the Ramsey helmet pull that wasn’t called. Can’t pick and choose which penalties u like and which u don’t.

Well, give them all credit. Everyone said it was gonna come down to Rams DL vs. Bengals OL. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pulling for Burrow and the Boys. Well that really doesn’t say much when the Rams don’t have OBJ , Robert Woods & Tyler Higbee out of the game. The Rams too 3 receivers don’t play (OBJ for the majority of the game) and it evens out the playing field. I honestly believe if everyone was healthy , the game would not have been as close but the Bengals made it a game.

The offensive line woes of the Bengals caught up with then finally. I felt like that was going to be the difference. The Bengals need to sure up that offensive line this offseason.

Exactly, before that holding call on Kupp there was a huge non call for holding, Ramsey got away with defensive interference on the goal line but the Bengals also got away with a bad non call for the mask grabbed that led to a TD
What flags did the Rams get that cost them yards or downs?
The Bengals offense lost them the game. They had a time out, 1 minute left, and 1 yard to go on 3rd down. If they run the ball twice they get the first down and they can stop the clock and keep throwing for the end zone. Instead they run once, fail, and go for a pass play and get sacked one yard away from first down. Whoever called that play should be fired. I agree the better team won but it was still winnable for the Bengals.

The Bengals lost the game in the 1st quarter when they went for it on 4th down at the 50 yard line, and the score was still 0-0. That's a call you make in the 4th quarter if you're behind. They gave the ball back to the Rams at the 50. Rams scored their 1st touchdown off of that ridiculous call.
As soon as they went for it and failed and turned the ball over to the Rams on the 50, who marched straight down the field and scored, I said to myself "Bengals just lost this game."
While I agree that's an iffy call, they had so many chances in the 2nd half as well. Wouldn't say they lost the game in the 1st quarter

Great show fellas. My Browns went down to Cincy on 7 Nov 2021, and wupped up on the Bengals, including a devasting pick 6 for a 100 yard return by Ward. I was shocked how the national media went into a humiliating worship on Joe Burrow during super bowl week. The Bengals need to beef up on both O line and D line, open up their wallets and pay for serious talent. Mixon is good, but need more power running back help. Rams had the O line, the D line and the stars, Cooper, OBJ. Van Miller - old but still incredibly quick. So happy OBJ, a great man, got his super bowl ring. Fantastic football season and Super Bowl !!!

That defensive holding against bengals on third down completely changed the game. Should have been 4th down from the 8. Instead a fresh set of downs, totally influenced the outcome that call.

This was expected. I can’t believe there were people really thinking the Bengals were going to win. Whether it was going to be close or a blowout, this was the Rams’s game to lose.
Then again the same thing was said when they met KC, so it's not completely out of reason to think they COULD have won. They got this far with a subpar O-Line...soo ain't that crazy

@@jacksonpope3955 Bengals got away with a face mask on the very first play of the second half that gave them a 75 yard TD. Momentum changed right there. Bengals get another unforced interception because the receiver let it bounce off his hand and into the hands of someone behind him putting the Bengals in field goal range to start the drive. They could’ve ended the game there by scoring a TD. But they settled for a field like they’ve don’t throughout this entire postseason and it finally caught up to them. Bengals offense was locked down the entire second half. Didn’t earn any points.
Also, Bengals defense was gifted with being able to solely focus on Kupp for the majority of the game once OBJ got injured. Yet he still won MVP.

they didn’t call a face mask cuz it wasn’t one technically in rule book and jalen was holding him that same play and 6 times total whole game , rams got 2 free PI flags, which moved them half way to goal line and automatic first downs

Bengals had one of the best goal line stands of all time taken away from them by the refs and you blame the bengals. Ya he rams were literally gifted the game when they should have been left for dead. That was not a penalty on 3rd down
@@mathewbaxter3443 But even before that play, they should've stopped Cooper. They should've never got to the redzone with just Cooper being their only receiver. And the Bengals had multiple opportunities to score more points after 20. They should've also scored at least a FG in their last drive.
@@pantsujutsu5954 they stop Cooper on that 4th down end-around and they wouldn't have had to worry about penalties. You can make the penalty argument on every single close game. Some that should be called are missed, some that are questionable are called. Ultimately it all evens out and the best team on that day wins the game. Burrow still had time to make something happen, and they had plenty of chances before that to put the game away. Bottom line is the Rams D shut them down and Stafford and Kupp came thru when they needed to.

Even though i was slightly in favor of the Bengals because of how unlikely they were to even get this far ultimately i am pleased for the Rams, Stafford finally got a ring, Kupp is great, AD deserves it... hard to begrudge those guys. Also the Bengals will be back... if they can get Joe better protection and maybe a few pieces on the defense no reason why they wont be back to the SB. Both teams are likable and ultimately the better team did win.

I'm happy for Stafford. He's heard for years about how he's never won a playoff game, going winless in three attempts. Now, he has a winning record in the playoffs overall after one season with the Rams. And he did it without a complimentary running game, without Woods, Higbee and Odell (for the second half) and on another come from behind drive to win it all. He deserves respect.
