I knew it! You were going to this one! This siren is an absolute gem. It’s one of the rarest sirens in Central Oklahoma. Managed to be the first to record it. I don’t know if they will keep their system or replaced them all with 2001s. I really hope they don’t replace them.
@@Wmofnmproductions That's what they said. I don't think they're following through with that though. They said that like a year ago, and only one has been replaced.
It’s almost unbelievable that this may be the *only* 435hz Whelen left in central oklahoma. That’s absolutely *bizzare*. Especially since there are at least 2 dozen 435hz whelen units that remain in the tulsa metro and surrounding areas.
The whelens in Yukon sound like the ones in Oklahoma City. I can hear Oklahoma City in the distance and it sounds really cool! I also hear a 2001 as well. Great video as always!
@@jonathanharrell7703 Thanks! Yeah Yukon is like a throwback to OKC. The 2001 you're hearing is the one in downtown that replaced the 2806 that was there.
Thanks! This siren is like legendary now since the 435hz is dying really quickly. A lot of Whelen cities are switching to 560hz. Tulsa has maybe 10 left when like a third of them used to be like that.
@@GabrielCL2T22Ayeah fr, imo vortexes/4004s are kinda legendary considering that there are next to none in my state, and the ones in my state are very far from me. I only have like 2 whelens in my county!
@ thank you I’m just a big fan of 435hz 😍 my town used to have them until 😔 they upgraded them to 560hz and 450hz 🥺 we have two sirens whelen vortex R4 and a whelen hornet and I missed them in 435hz 😭 because it’s what I grew up with but sigh 😔 things change and there is nothing people can do about it 2013 or 2012 was the last year I’m sorry 😭 the last year the vortex was a 435hz 😭😭 and in 2020 it was the last year the whelen hornet was 435hz 🥺😭 and I say that because the vortex was just making a booping sound and when they fixed it the 435hz was no longer there it changed to it’s normal pitch 450hz and never changed back 😔 but it’s ok I’m fine it’s just got to get used to it 🙂😔 oh and the whelen vortex when it changed it was during a tornado warning in 2013 when I noticed it 😭changed to 560hz so that’s why I’m a fan of the 435hz but btw great video i just wish all of Oklahoma City Oklahoma had more 435hz’s still and double windups like Yukon does with this one
@@rockstar5919 Oh ok. 435hz is dying really fast. It's mainly 560hz now. And I can agree, 435hz is awesome, especially when mixed with 560hz makes an awesome ambiance.

Dillon Carpenter recorded this one like 12 years ago before he deleted the video. I hope they don't replace this one or change the pitch.
@ Me too
There actually all gonna get replaced with 2001s

There under a budget. But within the next year or 2 they all all be 2001s

@@cam862official Yeah. Yukon has plans to replace all their Whelens eventually. One is already replaced with a 2001-130. I'm kinda mad that that.

Wow this one has such a nice sound to it, almost peaceful like.
Yeah 100%. Even better the wind carried the few Whelens and the '130 straight our direction.
@@GabrielCL2T22A what other kinds of sirens do they have in Yukon?
@@LCS508 Yukon has 4 Whelen WPS-2810s, one Whelen WPS-2910, three Whelen Vortex R4s (one got hit by lightning), and one 2001-130 DC.
