The Husky is so cute and well manered. I'm so pissed when his owner put him on that small cage. Seriously that cage is for small-medium dog, obviously not fit for the medium-large dog like Huskies! On the first part you could see he even can't standing properly in that cage! And of course he barked and howled! I'm so pissed!
Why do people keep questioning the trainer method. He’s the professional one here. It may be cruel but it’s a starting point to training the dog. Sure it’s affectionate towards the owner but the dog is aggressive towards strangers and it could lead to it attacking people and in the end it’s the owner and the dog that will suffer. Affectionate is something that can be installed later on in the training process when the dog can learn how to behave.
Yeah. Dogs may think they are being complimented for misbehaving, that's why being affectionate is a no-no.
people who are questioning the trainer should not own a dog. They are the type of owners who really doesn't know how to train their dog, and worst case scenario is they abandon the dogs cause they cant keep up with the behavior of their dog.

Those kind of people who only loving their dog is only OWNED a dog. They don't deserved being called as a Guardian or a Family. Kids need discipline - and so pets. I always remember what Hyungwook said "if your dog bites people and that person punch your dog until its passed out, you still must apologize."

this episode is so intense but i cant help looking at Lucky during the training everytime 😂 he is so friendly and affectionate towards strangers... it's sad that the owner had the heart to lock him up especially in such a small cage. i wish she could pay more attention to him instead because after all he was the one who was with her all these while ♥️
Yup absolutely right. I'm almost crying with how lonely Lucky is. They are together in a room, but Lucky get no affection from his owner. He must be feeling betrayed 😭
The most interesting part Mr Kang not just train the dog but instead train the guardian as well.. coz the dog problem come from how the guardian treat the dog.. but I hope everyone whose see it don’t critics but we have to do is learn every single thing in positive perspective.

Trainer Kang is very blunt yet kind in his words, you can tell he really cares for the dog and is concerned not only for its wellbeing but for the owner as well
I love reading the comments under shows like this and the likes of people who think they are better than a trained expert. Sad, honestly. Most of the cases in this show I have seen so far always relate to the owners giving TOO MUCH LOVE. None of these dogs are deprived of affection, rather they lack needed discipline, that's usually THE ISSUE. Mr. Kang literally has to teach the owners to discipline their dogs and none of it is done with aggression or harm. It's calm. Yes, love your dogs, but love is not enough to raise an animal. Sit back,watch and learn something or just click away.

that's how our world have become..in our "so easy to trigger" world nowadays, we are questioning the experts when we no nothing about the field the experts are in,the knowledge they have,observations they made and experience accumulate through it..
What Mr Kang Hyung Wook doing and expressing his true thought and feeling shows how professional he is.. Salute to him.. And he ways act for the best no matter on whoever sides... And I've been waiting for weeks to watch this episode cos earlier maybe haven't been uploaded. And I'm really happy and grateful that I manage to watch it now.. Thanks

Dogs, like other animals, live to survive. They don't need human on surviving. I would be happy to spend the rest of my life with only one friendly dog like Lucky. Lucky is an adorable, well-behaved and beautiful dog.

Gyeonggu: the troublemaker, he seems harsh at dogs and talking bad about them but he likes dogs a lot
sorry to say but the problem with this owner is she think she know all anything about raising dogs. Just because she love dogs and do volunteer job to safe the dogs, she think she know everything.. I never raise a dog but even I know that kernel and that cage is wrong. Even animal need a space. Do not raise many animal if you cannot be a good owner.
People who comments badly on Mr.Kang and his semi trainees are people who keep on watching just by one sided and keep seeing the flaws instead of what actually Mr.Kang and his semi trainees do !! How I wish people would stop being ignorant and open both of their eyes widely instead of just criticize without knowing how hard it is to be a trainer and to train the dogs and the guardians !! FYI usually pet behaviour changes because of its guardians who keep on adoring them and didn't train them well then when it happen just like the situation in the video , they'll run by saying it's not their fault and be stubborn Gahhh

Dogs understand our actions more than our words and those actions translate differently from us to them. Like pushing away, if we are pushed with it means the person doesn't like you or they are being rude, but if a dog is pushed it means, "No" or "I'm drawing this line, behave".
Remember pushing is different than kicking; Reinforcement of rules for the welfare of both the pet and people around them is different from forcing them to do what you want.
I cant stop being mad at the dog owner. She does not know what she's doing. Luckily there's Hyungwook
Dog trainers are experts and professionals in their field of work. They know more about dogs than every lot of us commenting here. Sometimes, experts get conscious of cameras and restraint their works as it might not be viewer friendly, but these type of trainings are common in the dog training world. I applaud Mr. Kang for being true to his work regardless of the cameras. Every word and action of his towards the dogs and dog owner is legitimate. Training sessions are intense. If anyone feels uncomfortable watching, then find another show please. I really like the true style of this show, and people criticizing a professional's work is utterly embarrassing and outrageous considering we are nowhere near Mr. Kang's expertise.

Although I don't know about dogs, I can see that the dog kneel to small for them... How the owner can said it's fit for them.. or she only blind her eyes.... It is quiet big issue in Korea now especially in the city The trainer draw line when it comes to the dog who bites people The most important thing is the safety He often says the dog like Hope has been living however they wanted to live. The dog need to experience 'insufficient' before they start to do actual training.
Not giving any affection is only temporary till Hope acts better.
Is there any updates on this? I hope Mr Kang came back and surprise check on her after this episode. Even if i gave her the benefit of doubt, i still think she's unfit and not qualified to do anymore rehab/foster volunteer for such animals. The simplest thing by even assuming that kernel was a "perfect" size, wow let me give you a room that's just enough for a single bed to sleep on - how would you feel aye woman? I love you Mr Kang, love how professional he suppressed his frustration towards this woman. Keep up the good work!

Well dogs are really like human. Those spoiled child are harder to treat than those who are abused. Spoiled children tends to act that all they do are correct and hard headed. While those abused are submissive and shows mercy.

honestly, to me it felt like she often treated hope very harshly. like kicking her pulling her harshly, and putting on the muzzle. idk the way she talks about how she wants to help and how soft she is doesn't really reflct on the way how she "trains" hope. it doesn't seem to bother her THAT much (ofc i dont want to assume, because she may be extremly tense and just cant show it), even the trainer told her not to be aggressive
Yeah, even I who am not a dog lover would not force one into that tiny cage. We're getting too many conflicting messages here. Hopefully, she's genuine about wanting to do better.

A mom has to be the scariest person to discipline her children completely but not all moms can't do that because they hate seeing their children being sad and frustrated. Dogs are like humans, lived like humans but every dog has to be the human's children. A popular saying "Dogs are humans' best friend." is kinda true but dogs should be the humans' children. Dogs want to amaze their owners like a child do, dogs feel sad when their owners are absent like a child do, and dogs want to be affectionate like a child do.
The trainer apologised at the end doing too much control That's not what he wants but Hope needs to learn how to stop first than any other things.
Are you a Korean? He doesn't need to apologize though, some are just feeling expert. How can you question a man like Mr. Kang who's his life is built through experience with dogs. And the way he speaks is professional, he's honest not sugarcoating his words so the owners will be reminded with his words

What Trainer Kang said was true. I also think that woman is unfit for Hope. Cause she will ignore Lucky and too affectionate to Hope. It's not healthy really. The one will be so aggresive and the one will be lonely. Imagine how uncomfortable Lucky was when his owner brought home new dog many times. And the owner pushed him away like that because he wasn't nice to new dogs. It must be hard for him. Poor Lucky. But he still manage to be a good dog :')

Giving ONLY lots of affection to a dog isn't the right way to raise it. Really, it's like always spoiling a child all their life and bad behavior always comes after that. The owner is frustrating, she should've just listen, because if she's right then there would be no problem with the dog in the first place. But no, the dog is really aggressive. Most owners know how to give lots of affection only to their dogs, and not even a bit of discipline. Owners should do a bit of research or consult trainers/vet if they want dogs so they would know how to take care of it properly.
The owner is a mess leh :( I'm so upset.... Feels really bad to see Hope vomit from the stress also :/

I think she has a good heart but that just isn’t enough to take on a task like this dog who has had a lot of (probably) bad experiences before coming into her care. This isn’t just a dog who needs a loving home, this is a dog that needs to unlearn a lot of aggressive behavior that it has taken on, very likely to protect itself, which takes not only a very long time but also needs an owner that has experience with this and won’t bend to the dogs will when it acts up.
Hope need to train before meet this person. And she needs more trains after meet this person. And the way mr. KANG told her that He doesn't like all the dog lover. Well say.... She can't live with dog. She said she doesn't want to push Hope worry when she fall. But her action when she push her to much. Or angry at her when she pull her look like she doesn't care about Hope. God!!! I AM PAUSING AGAIN AND AGAIN cause that girl make me soo angry!!!! I hope lucky and Hope find a new Good home!!! Ughh

If you meant the aggressive pushing, the ones that causes the dogs to tumble on the floor like that, i think its used mostly for more aggressive dogs like this one for training, if not they won’t get it

She doesn’t own a dog and scared of a dog when she just join the show. Getting scared is not a crime. You can see that mr kang know so well that she’s very scared that’s why mr kang doesn’t force her to feed hope the treat. Watch the episode before this there’s a girl who get bitten by a dog whenever they talk about that she cry even it’s happened years ago. Don’t belittle someone trauma or feelings. I never own any dog and never get bitten but if i was put on that kind of situation I would shit myself and even act worst than her. Go get a life. Or tune to some other channel if you don’t like the cast.
Not overacting.. lot of korean girls tend to act like that when suprised. I dont know exactly the reason but I think its because of their culture. They are known for being expressive and cute. That reactions is just normal😂

I love watching this show about how he analyze the reasons and find solution to it. But I really cant help getting annoyed by the girl Yu Bi. If she can be so terribly terrified with a dog growling INSIDE a kernel, why is she even on this show

I know it’s been a year but i still gonna reply to someone like you who like to belittle someone’s trauma. She’s scared of a dog. She got bitten once before. She join this show to fight that fear. I’ve never get bitten by a dog but i got chase by a lot of dogs growing up because in my country the dog owner is not good at training their dog and their dog growing up like this hope dog. I still got traumatised till now n it’s really hard for me to be close to a dog even it’s the mild manner one. When we scared we can’t control our expression and it’s not a crime to get scared. Go get a life dude. Idk exo fans is such a toxic . 🤦🏽♀️

You’re the type of dog owner who will spoiled your dog to the point it bite someone and get put down ( send to death ). There’s a regulation in korea that if the dog is too aggressive n bite someone the dog will be send to death. Is that better? I know someone like you will said there’s another way. But trainer kang has never beat up the dog that he trained. There’s few more people that came to the show said when they send their aggressive dogs to other trainer place they beat the dog n even put a electric chain so the dog won’t bark. Is that better? Go get a life and shut up.
There was no info about if in the end this helped or not. This way of training by dominating and hurting the dog is really old fashioned.There was no positive reinforcement. I agree that the owner shouldn't be too affectionate or pity the dog but the trainer was also humanizing the dog.
They are making it out like the dog wants to behave in this way, making it out as a battle or "a boy mad at his mother", as if the dog is rebelling authority. The dog is scared shitless, unconfident and unsure with an equally unsure owner. Sorry but I don't think this was the best way to go about it.
And the muzzle too, positive reinforcement and we would't have seen any growling but I guess that's not exiting enough for tv... phew back to Victoria Stilwell i go.

On a more serious note, I would't call myself a trainer. I own dogs, I've trained dogs, I've done a few courses on problematic behaviors, canine psychology and positive reinforcement. Here I am just expressing my thoughts and, like I said, this could have been handled differently and, in my opinion, in a more positive way.
I have noticed that positive reinforcement and more gentle training methods seem to be not as popular in East Asia as they are here in northern Europe, but I wonder if that's just my observation or actually factual..?
