I play the steam vr version on high end pc, quest 3 via VD. I experienced this disconnected picture only when using vdxr as openxr runtime. With steamvr it ran completely smooth with 3k*3,2k per eye and everything maxed ingame..
It sounds like some are saying VD support may have been added recently, but yeah. That wobbly head thing is very hard to describe, but definetly not quite right
thanks for the review the only other person I saw review this was IGN and I can't say I trust them all that much hopefully those patches for PC come out soon.
It was hard to tell because trying to run it on anything past medium would result in hardcore performance issues. The only way for it to look "good" on PC was to lower the graphics so everything looked like crap.
@@AtomBombBody That is weird, I am running it on high, with the best antialiasing and it runs good with a 5600x 3080 (2020 computer) EDIT: Reprojection disabled
@@00Clive00 not the most recent, but i9 1400k but with 2080ti . Can run Metro VR just fine and that game looks awesome. But. Aliens had to be dialled down quite a bit , but everything looked blurry.
With the valve index it was the left controller, that dipped in middle button between the sticks and face buttons. On PSVR2 right controller top skinny button.
The game looks dope and you did a great review, having said that… Soooooooo… the movie franchise that **completely** scared the ever living crap outta me, I’m supposed to play in first person VR???? About that…😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
I couldn't run it. There is a great review from a different game dev that explains the renderer is likely the culprit for a lot of the performance issues people have.
As much as I love my psvr2 I really only get games for it if they are exclusive to psvr2. That mura and reprojection is horrible. My quest 3 and 4070 to super runs games so much better than my psvr2
@ whatever, enjoy this clusterfuck of improper VR implementations. I bet it didn’t even last 2 hours after you recognize how lame the gameplay is and why you don’t need the tracker at all….😂
Great review, thank you! Definitely gonna pick this one up soon.
good review. nice job!
Imagine this face hugger comes to life and jumps on your face and puts an alien in your chest lol, loving this game alot.
The IRL haptics on that probably feel amazing

a mini patch resolved this, now run perfectly via VD and VDXR (I love this game) 😅
I had this with my valve index, so I'm not sure!
@@AtomBombBody oh.. maybe they only tested on quest (3) as myself
a mini patch resolved the virtual desktop problem, now run perfectly via VD and VDXR (I love this game)
Oh good, virtual desktop is so great it was sad to have it unsupported :(
I got that wobbluy head motion this too. Thought i was having a stroke at one point. thanks for the tip on the quest link only.

What is that wobbly head thing going on. Made me nauseous
I tried both the pcvr and psvr2. The pc version is bad optimized. Chopping graphics on my 3090 Rtx. Better flow on psvr2.
@davidmackie-d1jI got pretty much the same pc. It runs great
@davidmackie-d1j This is encouraging to hear. I have a 3080 and so I hope that when I upgrade GPUs soon I will be able to enjoy better.
Super thumbnail and transition into the video, Atom. GG
I have been waiting for this since the 90s. My body is ready!
You‘ll be hardly having fun…
@@vr4ever645have you played it? I bet no!
@ i refunded it on steam
Im to chicken to play this. Seems like fun though
Its not as scary as alien isolation at least! Having weapons to defend yourself with helps :P
You speak truth! 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
@@AtomBombBodyyeah… uhhhhh… yeah…
You do you. As for me, I think I’m good sticking to Beat Saber!😅
I found walking dead too scary so this is definitely outside my terror tolerance zone lol. Looks amazing though and great review

curious, does the pc version look better?? I was going to use psvr 2 on pc. I normally like the port with the best graphics
It was hard to tell because trying to run it on anything past medium would result in hardcore performance issues. The only way for it to look "good" on PC was to lower the graphics so everything looked like crap.
I thought it looked really good on PSVR2 though! And no having to muck around with settings, just worked as is.

@@PR3DAHI'm not 100% sure there was an option to disable that in the version I played.
While I am enjoying the game, it does require some refinement. I am hopeful that these improvements will be addressed in the upcoming patch.
Great review… the game runs poorly on pc so I refunded and got it on PSVR2
What's your PC specs
Yeah have you got decent PC as I was considering it but you chimed in and now I’m back on the fence.
How is image on psvr2? Some say Mura is terrible and reprojection blur on psvr2.
I’m tempted to buy but tempted to also wait for sale.

how to open the in game menu? lol

Run times are all over the place 5 hours for you, 6 hours for others, 8 hours for others and 10 hours for others lol
I think near the end with some backtracking I tried to just speed run through and sprint past aliens once they stopped being novel

About that…😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
LOL. At least you get guns to fight back in this one 😅 (unlike alien isolation)
What a cute facehugger did you give him a name?
Hugsy
I love this game but damn it gives me nightmares. lol
😊
Everything plays better on the PlayStation period!

I'll waait
This game looks average, glitchy, has poor physics, xenomorph animation is basic. Level design is bland and the game is a boring slog.
I heard this game felt more like a flatscreen game that got turned into a VR game midway through the development.
Nah not that bad, controls feel fine in VR
Don't think so. Played yesterday. Game is awesome!
My best experiences in VR have been flat screen games that were converted. Like Resident Evil 4 and Alien isolation.
🍼
This looks like crap.
and you missed it was TERRIFYING !
The game is a feckin Desaster, sadly.
You wish! Get your money up and then you can afford nice things!
