Deathbrewer - After watching Twin Peaks I finally know what the F stands for. The F stands for Fish, in season one ep2, someone put a fish in the percolator.
Deadly premonition made a mistake in that it put the horror element in the first 5 mins. I played the opening and gave up for 2 WEEKS before I came back to it, because I thought it was some dumb Silent Hill clone... Then I got to the investigation... and the characters...
Yeah, that was a crazy change for me. Up until I played it, I assumed Deadly Premonition was basically Silent Hill with a detective/investigator twist to it, and the first part of the game did nothing to change that impression. Then I got to the actual game, and was left almost dumbfounded at what I was playing. I mean that in the best way possible, of course. What a weird and wonderful game DP is...
That was actually because of interference, Swery didn't want combat in this game at all but producers were like "look at resident evil, that's got combat and it's super successful" Swery did not like this but had to put it in the game. I would rather not have shitty levels with bad combat but that was how video games were back then. Swery was ahead of his time obviously.
Yes, as Marisa says, Swery didn't even want there to be combat. That said, I enjoyed the way it turned out if the combat had to be there. I think Swery integrated York's quirk of talking to Zach really well. Every time I scored a headshot and he cheered Zach...good stuff. And it just works with the zaniness in the game that it looks as if he's saying 'Nice shot!' to himself. What a gem of a game.
I swear to god, this character was just Agent Cooper in a different skin. I mean he even does that weird spacy shit mixed with superhuman detective skills Cooper does!
I love this game so much. The creators could have done a better job with the graphics, but I really enjoyed this game because of it's suspense and the story is just genius!
The best part about all of this is that the coffee [Spoilers for like a decade old game] actually tells York the main villain of the game. F. orrest K. aysen So he really could count on it, it never fails!
i got this game for 20 bucks last week, and its incredibly fun!! Great game!!! Dont pay attention to most of the critics!!! i cant understand why some people are only rating this game because of the dated graphics, it has better graphics than all the Wii game library!!!!
When you have finished this cup of coffee, your adventure will begin again. Next, you must pass through a vast desert and proceed to the big city of Fourside.
"Is there something you wanted to check out here Zach? We have to be at the community centre by fifteen hundred today. Just imagine talking to all those people! What do you think Zach? It's going to be FUN!"
A bunch of awkward scenes, weird dialogue, characters with secrets living in a small town in the woods, and the main character is a cop who gets visions and is obsessed with coffee? My god...Deadly Premonition is the most original game ever made! O_o
I don't completely agree. I played this first and loved it as much as I ever will, though I do admit that it's awesome seeing all the homages to Twin Peaks. I had a major fanboy moment when I saw the picture of Laura Palmer in Anna's room ^_^
@OpportunityStrikes Your right, I got it afew days after writing that and I love it! It's an amazing game and forgive the flaws, one of my favorite games, if not my favorite now. Nothing is quite like it.
The best thing is the rotating medal item in the background. I just love this game :D
YES that they literally do not physically let you get until after the cut scene is over. but they just stuck it there in the cutscene anyway
The man is very serious about his coffee.
+Deathbrewer but its dam good coffee.
Deathbrewer did you see that smile he did in the end? shxt got real! ahaha
rocknflip66 this is a freaky game but I love it!
Deathbrewer just like my father lol

Every character from this game is oddly lovable because of how goofy this game is

Nosaveddata The cards are good I think. Card collecting is usually fun and they’re of mostly important parts of the game.

And here's the funny part:
They named the American release after this scene.
Plot twist....It was decaf.
That BITCH!
God, I love this game.
"Did you see that, Zach!?"
When you hold twin peaks screenings for fun in the office.
It took me a while to find the F.K
It's in the coffee.
he is my dream man
Jenesse Ritchie who cares
Finally I found someone who thinks just like me, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
Isn't he the cutest and perfect guy ever? xDDDDD
°-°
I would marry him (and Zach) in an instand
Ok, Thomas
I swear to god, this character was just Agent Cooper in a different skin.
I mean he even does that weird spacy shit mixed with superhuman detective skills Cooper does!
Sweet mother of God.
He does the shepard creepy smile!
Heavily Twin Peaks-esque.
This video has been the first one to start, every time i search for TH-cam within my url-bar, for like 4 years straight. Amazing
After I went through this game, I realized how much I loved it. I sobbed at the end.

THAT'S WHERE I LEFT MY GIANT FLOATING SPINNING MEDAL!
*Better than Resident Evil 6
I love this game so much. The creators could have done a better job with the graphics, but I really enjoyed this game because of it's suspense and the story is just genius!
The best part about all of this is that the coffee
[Spoilers for like a decade old game]
actually tells York the main villain of the game.
F. orrest K. aysen
So he really could count on it, it never fails!
You know, this game looks like one of old Dreamcast games I used to play. One point for Deadly Premonition!
My coffee brought me to this video.
"F.K."
I still can't believe how that slipped past me.
"Black as midnight on a moonless night."
FUCK'ING IN THE COFFEE
Did you see that Zach? We're getting ported to the Switch, along with the sequel! N...X! In the coffee!
Now then! Let's get going!
*sip coffee*
*put mug down*
*sit around*
"Look with interest"
i got this game for 20 bucks last week, and its incredibly fun!! Great game!!! Dont pay attention to most of the critics!!! i cant understand why some people are only rating this game because of the dated graphics, it has better graphics than all the Wii game library!!!!
That smile kills me every time 😂
"I knew I could count on it! It never fails!"
Agent york then proceeded to make a troll face.
1:00
I love his smile xD
NO!!! NOT THE BEES!!! NOOOOO!!!!
Do you like Huey Lewis and the News?
@@BanilyaGorilya They're okay.....
In the begginning, it sounds like they're trying to speak over the music. Like they're aware of it.
I JUST CLICKED ON THIS WHILE WATCHING THE WHISTLE THEME AND IT WENT ON PERFECTLY!
Press A to Look with interest is the original Press F to Pay Respects
Did you see that, Zack? Clear as a crisp spring moring.
Completed this game, graphics and some mistakes are noticeable, but this game has a very good plot that drives you in from the start. Great game.
Great FX dude. Could totally see those letters.
I need to put "clear as a crisp spring morning" in my regular lexicon
Those puppies are putting letters in the coffee!
This never fails to make me laugh.
Only the Terminator could pull of a smile as heartwarming and charming as York's! :D
'Press A To Look With Interest', best QTE I've ever seen.
This game just instantly cheers me up
When you have finished this cup of coffee, your adventure will begin again. Next, you must pass through a vast desert and proceed to the big city of Fourside.
Man, good memories of capturing gameplay on a camera. That's the best way to get 60fps smoothness... Or at least smooth.
clear as a crisp spring morning
@TehBarnz THE COFFEE IS INFESTED WITH SPIRALS!
i still wish to this day, kevin or rt make a playthrough of this game
Clear as a crisp spring morning!
At 1:00 he just sorta does this creeper smile for a second... XD
Twin Peaks in video game form.
Oh. I was expecting a fish in the percolator.
Black as midnight on a moonless night.
"Is there something you wanted to check out here Zach? We have to be at the community centre by fifteen hundred today. Just imagine talking to all those people! What do you think Zach? It's going to be FUN!"
he spits out the coffee and says, "i guess i missed the u and c."
real dramatic whistling would have whistling
@Epsilonic Even better than "Press X to Jason?"
Someone get Mandalore to play this fever dream of a game.
A bunch of awkward scenes, weird dialogue, characters with secrets living in a small town in the woods, and the main character is a cop who gets visions and is obsessed with coffee?
My god...Deadly Premonition is the most original game ever made! O_o
I love this game
Real detectives saw F. K. In the coffee first try
lol. There's a floating powerup in the background.
@xXkyoukaXx This is a horror/mystery game..... with THAT music...... TOTALLY AMAZING!
Hey! That's a "Shenmue-Like-Camera"!!!
incredible. twin peaks reference.
They're here, Zach.
It never fails!
:D
This video game seems very much like an incarnation of Twin Peaks, it certainly explains a lot.
I don't completely agree. I played this first and loved it as much as I ever will, though I do admit that it's awesome seeing all the homages to Twin Peaks. I had a major fanboy moment when I saw the picture of Laura Palmer in Anna's room ^_^
poor old Polly. She walked hours to reach the other end of that table :(
weeeee, coffee vortex :D
god dammit who F.K.'ed in the coffee
York, still the best FBI agent.
F.K? He's my favorite plushie!
Twin Peaks.
Just ordered this game from the UK, cant bloody wait.
Was it worst the wait?
He has coffee stained teeth... well... it's either the coffee or the junk that's rotting them and causing them to rot and hallucinate.
This was, excuse me, a Damn fine cup of coffee!
@hoscba yeah I was half asleep. Let me correct myself. Throughout the game you discover what the two letters F.K stand for.
0:58 - "Brodsky, you're not the smartest..."
@MarkP0rter You find out what it stands throughout the game
that face @ 0:59
1:00 random floating medal during cutscene
@OpportunityStrikes Your right, I got it afew days after writing that and I love it! It's an amazing game and forgive the flaws, one of my favorite games, if not my favorite now. Nothing is quite like it.
It will always get me how "F K" was literally the biggest fucking spoiler in the entire game, and yet it was so goofy we played it off.
Wait a minute is that Sam Witwer
I kind of need to buy this.
He seems like a nice guy. :DDD
Looks like Mass Effect in 50 years.
Sheperds golden days....
@knestorial He spits the coffee out first, and then says the line. lol
*crazy smile*
He doesn't take it as black as midnight on a moonless night?
it looks like something id seriously love to play with half an ounce of budd and a heavy dose of that syrup.
This is for sure unrelated to that "Two Trees" show or whatever it's called. Dale Cooper? More like Dale Pooper.
@RoboJules the game is based off twin peaks
This video convinced me, that I have to play this game.
@Antdoggy25 It's not terrible, the game is actually quite amazing when you involve yourself in the subquests and the story.
Vhs twin peaks
wen he lookd into the coffee ladies and gentlemen that is wat cocaine do to the brain lmao
