One of the greatest fights I've ever seen by two men who embody all that's best in Martial Arts spirituality, character building, and respect. This was poetry in motion and possibly the most exciting fight I've ever seen. It's a shame people like McGregor and Paddy get so much attention and guys like Glover, one of the most inspiring fighters ever, to go completely unnoticed to anyone outside the MMA community.

Rewatching this masterpiece…This really broke my heart for Glover because he was winning beating all odds at 42……This fight was beyond insane, back and fourth insanity. Glover is 42 yrs old fighting a savage in Jiri, Glover was killing him on the ground and Jiri was killing Glover on the feet then the roles reversed in the 5th was nuts. Glover almost won yet made a mistake after he had Jiri hurt bad then tried to jump a choke cost him this fight……Jiri had to dig real deep and he did and he won. What a banger.
After now watching this fight at least 10 times, I truly believe the reason why Glover wasn't able to secure that guillotine wasn't because he was tired. It was because of that damn ponytail Juri is one of a kind truly brilliant

Eyez Only . At his age, the fight IQ isn't there; if you have a dominant controlling position AND able to do damage, you keep the position and do the damage. You don't attempt flashy finishes with a younger man that's already beat you 4 previous times. But hey, it is the UFC and he may have had to take those ridiculous chances.

What do you mean? Glover's been stomping people for over a decade, doing basically the same old thing to all of them. And he damn near did it to Jiri as well. Yes, Jiri won the fight, but as far as styles go, I'd say having a rock for a head and waiting for people to wear themselves out remains pretty viable.

This IS the best mma fight of all time. All out action the whole nearly 25 minutes. Entertaining on the feet and on the ground, the right mix between technique and chaos, a desperatly needed come from behind finish and a movie worthy storyline of the old warrior using every trick in the book to keep his crown against the young lion struggeling and ultimately succeding to take it for the next generation
The whole sequence by Glover starting at 21:38 is one of my favorite grappling exchanges in all of MMA and is certainly one of the highlights of his already amazing career. I know he didn’t win but my god the transition from deep half ending in that perfect sit through was a thing of beauty.

This fight between Alex and Jiri is very unpredictable, people underestimate Jiri for this performance against Glover, but remember that Jiri survived and submitted the best grappler in the division, Jan also gave a lot of work to Alex who only won in a split decision and it could go either way, also remember what Glover did to Jan in their fight. Styles make fights, I think whoever manages the distance better and counters punches better, wins.

Dude is in the waning years of a great career, puts on a performance that showcases his skills and his toughness. He has insane cardio for a man in his 40's. Shows the work ethic he's kept up with. i watch this fight like 5 times one of my favourite fight of all time.
This fight between Alex and Jiri is very unpredictable, people underestimate Jiri for this performance against Glover, but remember that Jiri survived and submitted the best grappler in the division, Jan also gave a lot of work to Alex who only won in a split decision and it could go either way, also remember what Glover did to Jan in their fight. Styles make fights, I think whoever manages the distance better and counters punches better, wins.
So true, whenever i look at each side's highlights i tend to lean towards them,they're that evenly matched, it could go either way

Should’ve been an easy fight for jiri but shoutout to him for giving glover a chance so we could have this banger of a fight
Jiri, viking shogun. This dude is a walking anime. That fight was back and forth the entire time, it will be fun to see happen again. Glover, wow. Dude is in the waning years of a great career, puts on a performance that showcases his skills and his toughness. He has insane cardio for a man in his 40's. Shows the work ethic he's kept up with. Great fight.
