    Enjoyed watching. Had been pressure washing my vinyl siding, looking forward to soft washing next month. So you don’t see the need for a surfactant in the bleach solution, like a bit of Dawn?

    • @MurphyPowerWashing
      @MurphyPowerWashing  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I do typically use surfactant.. I recently started using it more though. If you’re going to use a cheap alternative to a true surfactant, use some laundry detergent. Dawn is not compatible with bleach.

    Do you have problems with weep holes and streaking on the siding? I'm just starting and every house ive washed so far has dried with brown weep holes and some dark streaks

    • @MurphyPowerWashing
      @MurphyPowerWashing  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes weep holes are a nightmare. Typically what I do is go around the house with a wet rag after I have wrapped up all my equipment and just wipe the stains.

    Did you lower pressure on pressure washer using the unloader? What PSI did you set it to for a safe rinse to not damage the vinyl?

    • @MurphyPowerWashing
      @MurphyPowerWashing  ปีที่แล้ว

      With a wand I keep it at around 1500-1700 if using high pressure tips. If rinsing with a ball valve or high flow tips, I just Keep it at normal 3000-3500 psi

    What was your PSI set at on your pressure washer to rinse?

    • @MurphyPowerWashing

      With a wand, about 1600 psi. I’ve upgraded my pump since this video and started rinsing with my ball-valve and I keep it at about 3200

    So is your pressure washer just running while you soft wash?

    • @MurphyPowerWashing
      @MurphyPowerWashing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. That’s where an unloader bypass comes in handy. It directs all the water back into the tank if I’m not actively using the wand

    Is there a reason you're really concerned about bleach hitting the wood? If it gets on it, just rinse it off before you leave. It won't hurt it.

    • @MurphyPowerWashing
      @MurphyPowerWashing  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It absolutely can hurt the wood. It can also leave a bunch of imperfect spots/streaks that look ugly if bleach is left on there too long

    Try downstreaming half the time and just one hose. Plus half the SH.

  • @bobbyjbear

    I must jump in..... bro you don't want to shoot sh from the top down. Sh goes bottom to top and rinse top to bottom. Hope this helps.

    • @MurphyPowerWashing
      @MurphyPowerWashing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really doesn’t matter. It kills the bacteria either way and it all melts off. Never had a problem applying SH from top to bottom

    • @417altavista
      @417altavista ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Explain why bottom to top is better. Just interested in that topic bc I’ve heard from others, too. Thanks

    • @jimdoyel7340
      @jimdoyel7340 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@417altavistaThe idea of bottom to top is to allow for uniformity. If you start at the top, you can get "clean" streaks that run down the siding. This cleaner dwells longer and can potentially leave streaks. On a single story like the one in this video, it's not so much of a problem. On a 2-3 story house, it can easily be. Hope that helps.

      If you knew anything about chemicals at all, then you would know that sh destroys wood on a molecular level. So this comment makes you sound stupid

    • @jackgarrett7113

      You could have done that whole job with one hose. M5 twist with downstream injector. Apply sh bottom to top 1 1/2%, dwell, pull injector hose or shut off bypass an rinse with m5 top to bottom. M5 is way less pressure and you can dial to much finer spray. You are doing ok with what you use but you can save time and steps with this method.

    2 % is too much on that house, 0.7 to 1 % is all that is needed.

    • @MurphyPowerWashing
      @MurphyPowerWashing  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No way you’re getting an accurate .7% unless you’re using scales, or buying gallon jugs of bleach from Walmart. I use a blend manifold,so It’s going to fluctuate between 1-2% anyway. There’s nothing wrong with 2% on this home.

      @MurphyPowerWashing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@abbychristen1346 yeah that’s one reason. Also there was absolutely no plants/vegetation around the home so I felt comfortable going a little hotter to speed up the process without worrying about killing anything.

      Down stream injector give you around a 10-1 mix & that works plenty for siding
