Thanks for the mention. I like the term to "Rapidor it off", I will have to remember that. Your belt guides look great and I like the use of the box section. Lots of good progress
Excellent Phil, definitely advanced a few Tech Levels this week. The belt guides were a very good idea. My Rapidor has turned up, it's an older model like the one at Haxby Shed. Needs some TLC but should be a worthy addition to the workshop. Best wishes, Dean.
A great video this week Phil. I like how the drive system for the Holbrook is progressing. Some kind of over centring spring mechanism on the operating handle perhaps? The guide for the belts is one of those perfect engineering solutions.
I'm still cogitating Carl, yes I want something that is biased towards the off position so that it only needs minimal input to stop the machine. The metal for the belt guides is some lengths of channel section that came in a big bundle from a mate, I never turn down gifts of metal! Somebody left a galvo bucket of offcuts of round and square at my workshop door, never did find out who it was! Phil
Love the Rapidor. Still use mine a very rugged machine. Just wondering if the lever system could be operated by a sprung rod and latch going under the lathe tray. Not to drill holes in the lathe but it would mean more safety not reaching over. Difficult to see on camera. Thanks for posting. Best wishes.
great week of progress Phil
and alot of "Grey Cell" workout👍👍👍👍😉😉

some weeks go well and some weeks I fall victim to procrastination and get nowt done!

Very nice work sir. That old machinery of yours looks great. Love it
good video Phil
The guide to stop the belt from engaging with the pulleys is a great solution.
It is! and it works so well, although the belt tends to pop out of the large pulley, but that just needs a little guide to keep it in, possibly!

Thanks Joseph, and thanks for the idea!

The mechanical stop seems just as good as the electrical one, but they're all RAPIDOR!

@@philhermetic Better to cogitate and get it right.

@@gbentley8176 I had been thinking along these lines, maybe for a foot pedal or similar! It will happen next week one way or another!
