- GPS MAX Speed Run tests on the Xinlehong 9125 1/10 Scale 4x4 Truck on both the stock 7.4V 2s Lipo provided with the truck and also one of my 11.1V 3S Lipos. Will it make the same speed that is stated on the box?
Overall this is a great truck for the price, stay tuned for some more mods and bashing videos to come on this one in future videos!

Great review. I’ve seen the same results with several of the “rock racer” type trucks. None of them hit their numbers on stock 2s but they do hit or get really close on 3s.

I always think the same thing , when you got a speed reading of 44 , it looks way faster. Maybe it's the size of these cars/trucks that deceives the eyes ! Awesome job Dave, thank you for sharing. 👍👍👍

I'm loving all these battery mods David! It is pretty fast. Where did you get the gps speed tracker? Wish? How much was it? I'm sure I can get them off eBay also.
Cheers Ryan its pretty quick on 3s, very close to the stated speed on the box. The 60amp ESC done its job quite well to handle the power increase.

My truck arrived, put the 3s to it, was great. Next day my RC4WD Paddle tires arrived, mounted them on sum plastic locker rims I had, installed on truck, went to the beach. With 3s FREAKIN AWESOME!!!
Yes, a battery that carries around 12 volts. It eventually contributed to the rear differential going bad,, but well worth it. It was easily replaced

I'm still learning myself, so I'm probably not the best person to be giving advice on how, what and where to get the accessories that you're looking for. Great speed test. The zombie was the only truck, I found to be very close to what they say on the box.
Yeah the more expensive trucks the companies don't seem to lie about the speed.
How long does she run on the 3s? Any issues so far with the 3s?

Hi there, great Video. I wonder how the drive cups and the differentials can handle the increased strength and Speed. on the 3 s Lipo. I have two cars since 2 month, the back differentials on both broke (on the side the Metal arm goes in the Cup of the differential) and the drive Cups seem also to break soon. (they have bulges…) And I am on 2 s...on 3 s I think the parts will break sonner...what do you think ? Did nothing break since you have the truck ? thanks for your Reply!

Hello again, when you use a 3S, do you need to do any modifications or can you just change the battery and strap it on like you did? No fan or anything needed. Any recommendations 3S specifications recommended? :) Thanks
No mods just plug in a 3s
How long was the playing time on stock battery?
I use a 5k 50c 3s works very well. Keeps the front end down a little better. Oil shocks a must.
install a fan too, especially running 3s and a large mah lipo like you are cause the motors and esc will get hot if you dont take breaks between runs
I will definitely do that in the summer. Atm it's 6 degrees out. The only thing breaking are plastics ATM lol.

😁Wow did not know it could handle 3s thought it would burn up.
I had a good feeling the 60Amp esc could handle it Stevo, cause the older 9115/9116 models don't even have an independent ESC like this one has, its just got an all in one receiver/esc board chip and i've ran 3s on those 12th scale trucks countless times for ages with no burn ups yet ;) Cheers for watching bro!

I just ordered the same truck...good to know it comes with a 2s stock. Does it only handle 3s because of dual motors?

Is it safe to use a 3s lipo battery on the hosim 9124. If so is it safe to use a 4s. I want my truck to run the speed it said it will all the time except when I'm letting someone else play with it. Also, can you make upgrades to make it faster. Things like a faster set of motors. This is my first attempt at making a comment on any TH-cam video. I'm not sure how to find out if anyone responds to this. The local rc hobby shop around here had very rude employees working there and I don't like dealing with them. I'm new to this little hobby and I'm loving it so far. Only problem is I broke my rest differential and have to wait nearly 2 months for the replacement to arrive. Thank you and thanks for the video. My truck goes way faster with the 3s battery I bought
Hi Mark I'm happy to reply to you, I try get back to everyone that takes the time to watch my videos. OK well since I been running 3s on my 9125 I have always ran a cooling fan plus added extra holes on the top motor cover by drilling a few holes to let the heat escape.. Running 3s is fine... This 60a ESC can take it all day long. As far as 4s or 5s that I recently experimented with, I wouldn't suggest running it on those for long extended periods tbh cause it may indeed be hard on the electronics in the long run and you may fry an esc. The sweet spot for speed and power is 3s in my opinion and doesn't hurt the truck...cheers for watching my videos and your comments, enjoy the hobby 👍🍻

My truck wheels seem to wobble quite a lot at full speed. Quite noticeable on the sealed road. This is right from out of the box am I being to picky or something not right. I've checked all the wheel nuts.
Sounds like the tyres might not be sitting on the rims properly or have you had a hard impact crash? If so check the axle shafts, I bent mine and had to straighten em out in a vice as it made my truck wobble around..hope that helps, and thanks for watvhing
In your opinion, what is the ideal battery set up for the 9125? 2S/3S/4S also runtime vs additional weight, what MaH are you liking? I'm guessing whatever the set up, a strap is necessary... Thx in advance!
Hi Daniel mate, I reckon 3s is the sweet spot for this truck, grease the diff's and gears every dozen runs or so then service it again, throw on a wheelie bar and oil filled shocks and this truck is very fun and lasts a long time, also drill some holes on the top motor cover for heat to escape and add a cooling fan over the ESC when running 3s and its happy days. Yep ive done enough of these speed runs now to know these companies exaggerate the claimed speeds printed on the box. I knew the stock battery wouldnt even get close! They must test them out on 3S lol. Cheers for watching James

Yes you can it will still be 7.4v but capacity will be 3000mah 👍

Hi thanks for watching, there are plenty of options as far as 2s Lipos. i would suggest just look for maybe a 2500mah 2s lipo if you wanted longer drive times. appreciate you tuning in! 🙂👍

Yes you can no problem, many people do with this truck now since i made this video last year
It becomes apparent that with the increased speed comes an additional problem with controlling the truck as seen with the crash and the inability to maintain a straight line on the later runs, plus I'm not sure if the motors will hold up, so as an exercise in total top speed it's ok, but at bog standard it is a good balance between cost, performance and usability.
It held up fine so far, haven't burnt anything out or replaced any parts at all and have run it on 3s and 4s multiple times with other videos on my channel... Thanks for watching Kevin

Get the 2s 35C it’s slightly faster then 25c but it won’t mess up yur motor or anything. Ran mine almost everyday 👍

You have to consider that you run 12.6V through a brushed motor that's usually rated for 8.4V max. But this car might be an exception, because it has a dual motor combo. So, the esc will handle that (my HSP Flying Fish esc also states 2-3s lipo capability but has a brushed motor rated at 7.2V, so kinda 8.4V max if you put a 2S lipo). All in All: Like Perth West stated, you could definitely damage something, particularly the brushed motors could burn/overheat. Unless they share the voltage evenly.
PERTH: You really run 3S with your other cars that have only one brushed motor? I searched the forums and normally they say it'll ruin the motors sooner or later. But the chinese really step up the game even with brushed motors. I wonder if I should try 3S on my HSP with the brushed motor. That'd be crazy fast for brushed. Cheers. Nice channel.
@@InTheSh8 hi mate yes I do run 3s regularly on my other xinlehong trucks and wltoys 979b and 959b, and luckily have had no burn outs of motors , receiver boards at all. I keep things in check by adding a cooling fan powered by a 2s lipo and drilling air holes around the motor casings to let hot air escape. You can run on 3s but I recommend adding a cooling fan on top of the esc to keep it cool, otherwise for extra run time just use a larger 2s lipo, thanks for watching

Yes this thing is impressive with 3S. If you remove the speedometer it will probably reach the 46. lol. and if you run the test of 3S first before the 2S (at max charge). I have the same truck and it is a lot of fun for the price. They are also a bit smaller 3S battery than the one you are using so you can also mount them flat on the chassis. HOSIM is selling a "new" version of the 9125 with a higher battery cover so it can still close on thicker 2S battery than stock one (with higher C rate for example)
Yes its a great truck, i been using it quite a bit lately, the new Hosim sounds good with the modified battery cover, that's the only negative on this truck is the tiny battery tray... Thanks for watching my friend, appreciate you stopping by and commenting

@@bugbugpuppy806 no the 3s is an 11.1v lipo..watch what I say closely in the video, the stock battery is a 7.4v 2s then the one that I strapped up was the bigger 3s. If you change the 2 motors which I'm not doing you'd have to change pinion gears and probably the spur gear too
