Yeah for paint or nail polish in this case acetone is great! Sometimes you can even soak them and use a firm toothbrush for the hard to reach areas. As for the head, try boiling them again, it softens the plastic so your less likely to break parts while reinserting the plug.

Crusty kelly before the makeover looks like she fell into paint, acetone, was hastily wiped off with an old kitchen towel then dumped into the trash. I'm glad she was rescued and given a makeover. It makes me happy as someone who ruined a few lps as a kid by trying to customize them

Despite what modern day big pharma tells you, you don't need super expensive therapists and medication. Medication (antidepressants) should be a last ditch desperate effort. Getting a good stable friend can be enough to get over your problems! If you have something like schizophrenia that needs to be medicated ooooh please try to get help before it gets bad :(
I'd suggest taking on those bad thoughts head on, but IDK you or your mental stability/strenght, so depending on ur state that may or may not be a bad idea DX

@@Twiddle_thingstherapy isn't a big pharma thing, therapy is objectively good and you should go to a therapist if you're having issues and need help, they provide you with words to describe what you feel and give you tools to deal with them
@@pseudoruuI feel you, when I was in my depressive episode I had to stay on my phone right until I fell asleep, or my mind would just tell me to end myself. It was so tough, one day I tried to not be on my phone and it grew so strong I ended up calling 911 to talk about it, per my pshychologist advice. I ended up voluntarily going to the psychward and got on anti-depressants. At first I didn't feel them working so I had to increment my dose, and it really helped with those thoughts. That was a couple of years ago and I'm still on my meds, and they still help me from going back to those awful negative thoughts all the time. It worked out for me. I really hope life works out for you too
This makes the little girl in me SO happy. I collected a bunch of LPS animals and sets and always mixed and matched accessories to try and make myself. It NEVER crossed my mind to think of repainting or airbrushing or spray paint a pet to MAKE something new. I'm late to this party but I hope you continue making these. The crocheted dress(?) and two ribbons is something absolutely 😍 adorable.

The dunking in to hot water method. I’ve done with so many time, recently on a lot of customs I messed up on. What I found recently is going in with the rough side of a sponge can actually get a lot of paint off at once.
Also, since you’re off of reels. Now, you can dive straight first into reading fanfiction chapters, while waiting for the paint to dry. That’s what I do sometimes which is great, except when I’m reading a story where the chapter is 20,000 words long. Listen, I don’t have a fanfiction problem. Right now I only have 56 tabs open and that’s tiny. It’s not even close to my record of 200 something tabs.

This video brings me back to the childhood excitement I had watching Webkinz videos. When I was twelve I gave away my lps to a neighborhood kid, got into Minecraft at thirteen and created a doll story with my brother we continue as a stop motion. TH-cam’s been recommending enough warriors cat art channels that I’m considering reading past the first book. After I read the lions and pandas. I saw a community post about this vid, checked the channel to find a forty minute third episode about magic lps and knew I had to come back later. I’ll add lps to childhood interests I’m revisiting to find lost happiness.

I remember wathing customizing when i was younger. There is something enjoyable about it. The figures always turns out to be fabulous at the end. Just different 😻 It's so nice! I love customs and customizing. The details are beautiful!

To answer some of the little questions I caught: I think robins are pretty cool birds, they are just out here doing the work! Favorite fruit is apples, I think they are incredible little pocket snacks! And that blue is awesome!

My conspiracy is that a child probably watched one of your videos and wanted to customize their own LPS so then it got so crusty musty. Mom was like yeah Helma and sold it or threw in the dumpster and then found it and I customizing it.

I felt a sense of serotonin watching this knowing LPS are still going strong and being thought about. As a kid, I had a collection going and I used to make furniture, clothing, even bad hotel rooms for my LPS and Lalaloopsy's. They would share the same beds and be like pets and owners, I still think about it and miss them daily. Now I think I'm going to buy a few of them again, thank you for this video and the upcoming ones I'll watch. :)

@@HelloStudios SAME!! That totally makes sense for you though like a brave hero being turned into a monster! And the way you paint those black lines on your LPS that kinda look like midna omg it all makes sense now
It might help to soak these kind of crusty critters in diluted rubbing alcohol or even acetone but you have to be a little careful with acetone. It will soften even nail polish. I do this for my paint brushes, and have with old toys and its worked. Never have to throw anything away that’s crusty. And then you can go in with tissues and cotton swabs, like you did in the video. I think it would just save you a lot of time, instead of having to scrape and potentially damage the plastic you could wipe it away for the most part. Love it the turn out! It’s so cute. ❤

Oh she's so lovely now. 🤎 It's amazing too see such a drastic change, I love artists who rescue broken items and give them a new life. A lot of work and commitment goes into making over things that are so far gone. Hello! New here and everything, but I wanted to make a suggestion! I'm a miniature painter (think D&D character minis and tabletop war games, I don't play the latter but the figs are fun to paint) and use water-based acrylic paints and whenever I have to strip the old paint off a project to try again, there's this stuff you can find at the Dollar Tree (if you're in the US) called "LA's Totally Awesome All Purpose Cleaner". Just dunk a mini in there and let it sit overnight and the paint comes right off with a gentle toothbrush scrubbing. It does depend on the paint though- last time I did it, it took off the paint but not the initial primer (which was a plus, I didn't have to re-prime it, yay). The plastic that most Warhammer minis is made out of would melt in acetone, so LA's Awesome is something we use instead. You might want to give it a try for cleaning one these little guys next time!
