Fun information. More often than not, I see the scaffold knot tied as a double overhand, his were done as a triple. Curious if it would have made a difference. Thanks to Ryan for his work.
Rewatching your portion of the video, both of the white rooes were tied as double overhands and the red was a triple. Hence my confusion about which you were referring to as correct.
Great Video guys, I have been watching how not to highline for a long time now and learned a ton from them. I have been watching Mikeys videos from the beginning and learned a ton as well. My brother loved working with Mikey. Would you be open to testing some of the anchors I use for temporary access?
Can you do video about having figure 8 and barrel knot on C-ring? I've seen lot of R.A.Ts doing this on site, I still do figure 8 - should I also also go to barrel knot?
@@theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380 Yup, that's what I meant. I don't have experience on ropes but I sometimes re-do harnesses before going on ropes accordingly IRATA standard.
Ya, Personally don’t understand why people do it. But it doesn’t make anything better/safer/ or what have you. The only thing it really does is give you longer coattails. And well as per IRATA, most people’s cow tails are already to long
Great - well put together would be good to see it tested again without it being tightened and also with a normal length tail. That tail looked really long to me allowing more time for the knot to tighten. Good stuff!
Love your content Mikey. Keep up the great work. Gavin from UK. I don't think the death knot is a myth, i think that if the knot was shock loaded the outcome would be completely different. Either way its good to know the correct way to tie the knot.
I would have to say you were right if you don't tighten the death not you will definitely end up dead that is not anything I'm willing to test my life 2 also also tying the knot improperly makes it look weird which can cause all kinds of problems with people being able to check it quickly is always best to tight right
Thank you for your comment. I'm shocked with how many people dont set their knots and with that I would be scaried to see how that changes the situation. But ya just means I need to make another video... Darn, Cheers!
For the algorithm :)
Thanks sir!

I have seen that a few time myself. It sucks that it’s so commonly mis-tied

Thank you for your support sir.
I was a pleasure working with your brother. Maybe one day I will have the opportunity to work with you also.
Cheers,

Hey,
Sorry, are you asking about tieing a scaffold knot on the harness D-Ring instead of figure 8?

Totally agreed!
There are still many unanswered questions. So I will be making another video on this.
Cheers

For sure. I to think that it may come undone under the right situation. But I will have to make another video with more tests to see :D. Darn...
