    So cool you guys get to visit the oldest civilization site in person! Bihun soup looks amazing! Like a beef pho, but kedah style! That's a comforting bowl of noodles! The accomodation is so pretty, love the paddy view! It's interesting to see another style of Laksa Kedah. Mihun is definitely my kind of noodles, love that sauce! 😍

    • @FoodandFootprints
      @FoodandFootprints  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The bihun goreng + laksa broth is totally a Kedah thing! As someone from Selangor, I've never heard of such a thing until I met my Kedahan husband. When we go to the pasar malam he buys fried mihun and goes to the laksa stall to get the broth only - much to the confusion of the stall owner 😂

    According to local myths, the bottom sirloin is called the 'daging harimau menangis' because of the cow's hip bones prevent a tiger's mouth from reaching the part, so it does not get to savour the tenderness of the part.
    And because they can't eat the tender part, the tiger would be sad, hence the name crying tiger.
    I like my version better, the meat so flavourful it made the tiger cry.

    What my in law thought me.. The original Daging harimau menangis is the rare hard to get part of the cow where its the fat part that have a bit meat part together in a piece... Its so soft, so fatty, sweet that even a tiger would cry.. I tried it simply by frying, its so soft, melt in your mouth.

    Nasi Lemak would be great for breakfast. I like your own the road eating!!!! wish I could grow my own rice. Wow, that is a lot of work to mop the rice - ok, maybe I'll just buy it at the Filipino store.

    Watching these again before breakfast is killing me! LOL.
    Breakfasts are better when nice and sloppy!
    Eye bug with the stingless bee honey. Now to get those in our backyard instead of what we deal with here.
    Way to take part and understand "how the sausage is made" when it comes to something that means so much to Malaysia.
    That rib meat and gravy-doused pineapple!
