The always amazing Elastica, with Jthe original line up of ustine Frischmann, Donna Matthews, Justin Welch and Annie Holland. What a fantastic band and what a fantastic song this is. Always love hearing it. Justine now lives in California and is a sculptress and artist, Donna Matthews works with the homeless (good on you) , Justin Welch occasionally plays with Lush. Annie lives in Brighton and took part in the remastering work done on the first Elastica album at Abbey Road in 2017.
I never really got into them at the time. But about 10 years later, I sat down and listened to their debut record properly and it's all just absolute bangers from start to finish... Perfectly formed. One of the best debut records ever recorded... Such as shame they were never really able to follow it up...
I haven't heard any of their songs for a long time, without Connection and 2:1, I didn't know any of them for a long time. because the first one came on the radio often when I was 11 and 2:1 was on the trainspotting soundtrack! but their debut album is simply amazing! Every song, great!❤
@@David-h4z2s Girls loved Albarn in the 90’s. I always thought he seemed like an arrogant ponce in the Britpop era, Alex James was even worse. He’s done good work with Gorillaz though, still making good music to be fair. Plus he was against the Iraq war from the start and was proved right.
Oh, get off of it. What exactly have you ever done? Where might we find your recordings of your work? Do you realize that there are those who may have dug Elastica (or do now, if they weren't around at the time), and upon learning what formed the basis of their songs, may have in turn sought out the original source material from Wire and *The Stranglers,* and purchased their albums as well?

No. Martin Rushent produced No More Heroes, Mike Howlett of Gong/Steve Hilage Band fame produced Echo Beach. Elastica produced Waking Up themselves
