2015年より始動したアーティスト・チーム。東京芸大在学中、谷川果菜絵と新井健がジャンルの異なるアーティストを集め、あらゆるボーダーを越えるコミュニケーションを主軸にしたチームとしてスタートした。当初より、演劇やビックバンドに影響を受け、美術館やギャラリーなどのホワイトキューブではなく、ライブハウスやクラブ、劇場などの〈ブラックキューブ〉におけるアートを想定した展示、イベント、パフォーマンスを行う。主な出展に「MAYDAY」 @TAV GALLERY、「MES/N」@TRANS ARTS TOKYO 2016などがある。最近ではビートボックス日本王者であるSh0hや、渋谷のアンダーグラウンドシーンを代表するトラックメイカー・蜻蛉-tonbo-との映像制作に加え、クラブでの演出を中心に活動している。
MES is an artist team started from 2015. While studying at Tokyo University of Arts, Kanae Tanikawa and Takeru Arai gathered artists from different genres and started an artist team centring on communication free from all kinds of the borders. Influenced by theatre and big band since the beginning, they developed their pieces assuming the quality under Black Cube environment such as live house, club, theater rather than white cubes like museums and galleries. Major exhibitions include "MAYDAY" @ TAV GALLERY, "MES / N" @ TRANS ARTS TOKYO 2016. MES's activities have ever been growing; they have recently produced video works with Sh0h, Beat boxer Japan Champion, and Tonbo, track maker representing Shibuya's underground scene, and is also cutting a figure in its direction works in the club party scene.
