The original arrangement of Vernon Duke´s famous "April In Paris" for Basie was written by my great friend, mentor and teacher, jazz-organ pioneer Wild Bill Davis. Wild Bill was booked for the original recording-session but his van with the organ broke down on the trip from his home in St.Albans, NY (Queens) to the studio. He arrived when the recording was finished...too late! For many years the tutti-chorus ("One More Time") was used as a signation at the end of every set with his jazz organ trio. I adapted the whole arrangment for my own organ trio. Still perform it from time to time.
I've seen this performed two or three times in the S.F. Bay Area, California. It would have been AWESOME to experience this before the pandemic hit. :) Thanks for posting!
