Dissidia is a fighting RPG hybrid game with a unique approach to combat. I recommend Duodecim since it's the sequel to the first game, but it also contains the story mode of the original.

@@SuperJumpReviews Na didn't think you lied. Thought it was a game you had to use Hentaku for since I always checked fighting genre on vita and never saw it and plus I thought soulcaliber games weren't on psn besides current ones.
Medal of Honor Heros is still the best portable multiplayer experience I’ve ever played to this day. 32 players online was an incredible achievement and I’ve never had more fun on a handheld (killzone mercenary comes close). Just the sheer amount of players running around on some of the maps (I remember the snow maps were awesome) please let me know if people still play the online or if it even works!
SuperJumpReviews Yep! I own both on UMD for psp. Didn’t like the 2nd one as much. Always thought the multiplayer was more fun on the 1st. I think it was the maps and overall animations of the 1st that I liked more than the 2nd.
Brian Coley Sad news but I figured. I remember trying one day years ago, maybe 2011 or so and I couldn’t connect anymore. Wish they were still up & running.
MK vs Soulcalibur? Whoa..... Also, Crashbreakers were used in Crash Mode in Burnout 3 - kind of a puzzle mode where you had a setup and needed to score as many points possible by causing destruction.
Faezan Mahmud yea I’m surprised it still works it’s called holo docs when you choose multiplayer. Play gta vice city online with a friend with a modded psvita is awesome. Now I just need to find a friend lol
I've finished The 3rd Birthday and was blown away by that game for a handheld, but if you say The Red Star is up there then I best give it go. Great 👍 video
Starting with the good: Medal of Honor Heroes 1 and 2. The online was taken off long ago but it's fun to play through the campaign and skirmish modes. The guns just feel right, authentic and satisfying. Dissidia is amazing. The controls aren't too complex, and you naturally discover more of the strategy over time. Burnout Dominator is great imo, maybe even one of the best games ever. So true about Avril Lavigne song, lol. Now for the bad: IMO, games with infinite lives feel quite pointless. Looking at you Metal Slug. As for Darkstalkers on PSP, it doesn't even have special move command lists. The PS1 version comes with a manual, but that version is much worse, and it's a pain to have to check the manual. Soul Calibur is also a bust, I would never recommend it.
Some great games on here dude, nice video! Kudos for putting Red Star and 3rd Birthday at the top, those are some great and underrated games. I still play Red Star on PS2! By the way, the later Dissidia game called "Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy" (2011) is considered by many folks to be superior to the vanilla "Dissidia Final Fantasy" (2009). People who are interested should do some research to see which game they'll like better. Even though the games you list are great, one genre you've omitted is JRPG's, of which there are several like the first two Trails in the Sky games (which I'm playing on my Vita right now), Jeanne d'Arc, two solid games from the Ys series (Ys Seven & Ys: The Oath of Felghana), Hexyz Force and Valkyria Chronicles 2.
Hey, Thanks! Yeah I was told about the Final Fantasy duodecim thing, but this was after I had already bought the vanilla version, haha. I'll save the next one for another video. You're right, I did forget about JRPG's. The truth is, those games take too long. These videos take long enough as it is and adding a JRPG in there would extend the time it'll take to make this video. But I will keep those games in mind for a future video.
@@SuperJumpReviews Definitely hard to be an adult and play a bunch of JRPG's, especially for me now with a time-intensive job and young kids to raise. One day I'll come back to JRPG's .... and my Vita will be waiting for me, LOL!
Honestly the ps vita is so underrated, it was so ahead of its time , Nintendo taken over for what the vita already had accomplish in the hand held world and the great part of having a vita you can remote play some of the newer games like madden 2O and more and you can play it on the go if you have cellular hot spot , I recommend it give a try .
True, it was way ahead of its time. Isn't it kinda funny how most electronic devices that were ahead of its time end up failing? Like for example the Dreamcast which offered online play. It wasn't until a few years later did online play catch on. You think had the vita been launched a little later, it would've done better?
SuperJumpReviews ,,,, most definitely, it’s been 9 years since it’s last manufacturing date and it’s still running strong now that’s a big accomplishment for Sony and this lil hand held device let’s see Nintendo do that when the switch time is up .
A couple of games I adore on PSP are Cladun and Cladun X2. They're adventure rpg games with crazy mechanics and lots of character creation. That's actually a big feature where you can create a character from scratch and build them up. Both games are very addictive and have been available on Steam for a good handful of years now. I still prefer playing them on my PSP or Vita. I ended up enjoying playing Coded Arms a lot better on the PSVita than on PSP because you could map the face buttons to the 2nd analog. Making for dual analog movement and aiming. Same with Resistance Retribution and even the Armored Core games. In the 3 Armored Core games available, you can remap the controls so aiming is on the facebuttons (used in the 2nd analog), weapon management on the d-pad, L is boost and R is shoot.
@@SuperJumpReviews I love the ever living shit out of my PSP and PSVita. I was even hopeful we'd get more postumous PSP releases on Vita. Like how it happened with Persona 2 Innocent Sin and Carnage Heart EXA. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. :c I was hopeful we'd eventually get Grand Knight History picked up for localization again, a US release of White Knight Chronicles Origins or that Phantasy Star Portable 1 and 2 as well as Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Tag Team got re-listed. Much sadness...
Good list, might give that Medal of Honor a try. I’d give an honorable mention to Justice League Heroes if you like Marvel ultimate alliance, and Gangs of London If you like GTA
SuperJumpReviews yeah pretty much, though the funny thing it’s should be the other way around because Justice league actually came out first, by a week lol. I’ll admit Marvels game is overall better, ironically for the same reasons the MCU has been better than the DC movies, but there are some mechanics in justice league that are a little better like how you level and stuff you can interact with.
Martin De-Serres there are a bunch of people you unlock in JLH but yeah Marvel will pretty much through their whole catalogue in a project. So I’d say it’s like comparing the roster of injustice to that of LEGO Marvel.
The resistance & killzone PSP games, and MGS peace walker are also pretty great on Vita. It’s a shame Crisis Core FF7 can never get a rerelease or put on the ps store. I’d rebuy it to play it on vita 😩
Another video gem. You should make reviews about ALL ps vita games. (Indies, minis...)Even if I am not a big fan of most of them. But just to get your opinions about them. Could be good a reason to make more Vita Videos.
A game with a similar mechanic was Messiah released in 2000. For the PC and maybe consoles. Different game of course, but I just thought to share with you the info. There you can take control of other characters on the fly, by basically possessing them. Good video, thanks for sharing.
Hey, Thanks! Yeah I vaguely remember that game. I think I saw an ad for it in a gaming magazine or something. Was there like a baby angel with wings flying around on the cover or something?
What you're using with the super move thing is a shortcut button, the layout is a bit complicated but you can get used to it. And calling it a Street Fighter clone is a bit redundant too because just being a fighting game doesn't mean it's a copy Good choice of games either way!
The Red Star was on the PS2 but I never played it when I had mine. I found out they ported it to the PSP and went and bought it last week. Yeah it's a good game. It's shame I never played it on the PS2. Wish we could get a PC port. I would play it still.
Darkstalkers was Capcom pushing CPS2 to the absolute limits. It was the most beautiful 2D fighting game of it's time, and still hold up very well today
The only games i have that are featured in this list are Metal Slug and Parasite Eve. The others aren't really my kinds of games but great list nonetheless! Another psp game i really like that i never see in any lists is Killzone. I'm just a big killzone fan, the only fps i actually like, i don't know why (even if the psp game is not first person).
Another big one for me is Tomb Raider Legend and Anniversary. The PSP versions have always been extremely clunky as you can't really move the camera when moving. On Legend you press square + analog stick, on anniversary you use L and R to look side to side. By using a patch by TheOfficialFlow, you can use both analog sticks which is a gamechanger! Makes the games much more natural and allow you to look around the environment (I would otherwise miss secrets because I'd never look up or down)
Omg super jump I'm so proud that you added pursuit force. SUCH A GOOD GAME!!!I got it for free when psn got hacked they were giving out those free games The music is amazing I listen to it at work for more strength The gun play is so damn good and the adrenaline rush is soo good. Thanks! The game has a crazy difficulty spike later on but I was told the European version is even harder, yikes! Haha, I need something to give me strength at work.
@@SuperJumpReviews yes the prison boss was where the game spiked up HARD. The only way to win the game is to mash the fire button to hell and back. NEVER hold on the fire button you will never win
I never understood the hate on The 3rd Birthday, but Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny is something I should've bought when it was still new, despite that it doesn't have an Arcade Mode.
Finally got a PS Vita and thanks to this channel I've been stocking up my collection. Absolutely love it. I noticed that my old PSP games have a smaller screen display. Is this normal for all PSP games on Vita?
Thanks! And yes, that's normal for psp games on the vita. However you can adjust the screen size. Hold on the PS button on the vita. An options menu should come up where you're able to adjust some settings including screen size and color space.
3rd Birthday is fantastic, which tbh? That's more than I can say about the 2 Parasite Eve games. It's probably the only strict third person shooter I've played and enjoyed for the actual gameplay.
@@SuperJumpReviews I don't think Horror and RPGs mix very well. Horror makes you not want to explore, but RPGs require it. The whole concept of these games doesn't make for a great horror story either, as it's pretty silly/nonsensical. Though the biggest problem with the Parasite Eve games is how slow and clunky they are. Not really sure how the combat is supposed to be fun, but maybe you had to be there at the time, idk. But yeah, definitely a much, much bigger fan of 3rd Birthday with the more campy story approach and an unique take on a more fitting genre than the other games. The graphics being good helps too.

Dunno if anyone said cant be bothered going through comments, but burnout revenge had crashbreaker , and yes that avril lavigne "song" was stupid popular because I can remember not being able to get away from that thing for a while
The best PSP game that nobody's heard about is Gladiator Begins. Good historical accuracy, but the game shines in its mechanics to make it a fun fighting game with good depth in the fighting techniques to use to become a champion in the arenas of ancient Rome. There are four fighting techniques, small shield/single weapon, large shield, dual weapons, and pugilist (fist weapons) and a lot of attacks for each technique (some attacks can be used across different techniques). Learn skilled attacks that were used against you (by your trainer or by other gladiator opponents you defeated) and pick the ones you like best and assign them to your four action buttons. Some techniques are faster than others, but having a large tower shield can be worth the slowness it imparts. Each character you unlock and imitate also has four default attacks. Attack moves are rated for their damage and how many fatigue points they consume from your endurance to perform, so you cannot keep making strenuous, acrobatic attacks without quickly tiring yourself out and leaving you vulnerable to attack. The characters' default attacks are weaker but do not consume endurance so you can use them to maintain your initiative, keeping your opponents on the defensive while you catch your wind for your next skilled attack. Armor and weapons are rated for their weight so if you carry too much above your strength rating, you cannot run (big disadvantage). Armor must be struck off in order to damage the vulnerable gladiator they once covered. Only hits on an unprotected part of a body will inflict damage. Some weapons are better than others in stripping off armor (hammers are better than swords and spears) while other weapons are better at inflicting damage (swords are better than clubs or axes). Spears have better range, but are easier to smash away and are difficult to use effectively at close range. Characters have a vitality bar and strong gladiators can take a ridiculous amount of damage, coating the arena red before they finally go down and that detracts from a lot of the game's realism. I wish the designers made the hardest difficulty in GB like Bushido Blade where a solid hit on an unprotected head, chest or abdomen will instantly kill and hits on unprotected arms or legs will cripple those limbs (crippled arms cannot hold weapons or a shield, crippled legs cannot run). Dissidia is a fighting RPG hybrid game with a unique approach to combat. I recommend Duodecim since it's the sequel to the first game, but it also contains the story mode of the original.
Oh cool. I'll remember to check it out.
Hi I got this game a while ago on my psp it's called gun showdown it's an open world cowboy game I've been playing it alot lately for a psp game there is lots to do
oh yeahhh!!!! I remember this game. It was on the ps2 as well right?
I didn't know there was a, Darkstalkers. On Vita! I need that, haven't played Darkstalkers in a long time. Being able to play as my Morrigan! again! I'd love, Metal Slug! Too didn't know it existed, as well as Soul Calibur!! It's time for some new Vita games!
Thanks for the video pal 😀 👌
Hey, no problem! Let me know how you like some of the games.
Metal Slug 3 is also available on Vita or you could download PSP version of Metal Slug Anthology

Great video as always, there are so many psp game that you can download on the vita, and they look great on the vita
Thanks for the support as always👍Wish Sony would allow more psp games to transfer over to the ps vita. But when I think about it then their would be more people playing psp games on their vitas then actual vita games haha
I didn't even believe you when you broung up Soulcalibur Broken Destiny was on PS Vita until I looked up on the mobile ps store site while at lunch break and I was shocked. Thank you for letting me know it's a thing at the ps store.
Would I ever lie to you guys🙂
Did you ever play the second Medal of Honor Heroes?
SuperJumpReviews Yep! I own both on UMD for psp. Didn’t like the 2nd one as much. Always thought the multiplayer was more fun on the 1st. I think it was the maps and overall animations of the 1st that I liked more than the 2nd.
Brian Coley Sad news but I figured. I remember trying one day years ago, maybe 2011 or so and I couldn’t connect anymore. Wish they were still up & running.
I agree I played medal of honor heroes a lot online too. Me personally I liked the second one better. Also miss playing socom as well.
Damon Irk I played Socom Fireteam Bravo 2 online almost as much as I played this. Truly another legendary multiplayer game from the psp era.
MK vs Soulcalibur? Whoa.....
Also, Crashbreakers were used in Crash Mode in Burnout 3 - kind of a puzzle mode where you had a setup and needed to score as many points possible by causing destruction.
Ah, I missed Burnout 3. I think that's one I didn't get to play.
SuperJumpReviews Crash Mode was everything! And the game itself was peak of the series - at least before it went sandbox.
@@SuperJumpReviews man you gotta play it
@@JustinLeeper Revenge was kinda cool, but burnout 3 was still awesome.
If you have more then one ps vita and or psp you can do local multiplayer with each other in the same room. it seems to work on any game I’ve tried
Faezan Mahmud yea I’m surprised it still works it’s called holo docs when you choose multiplayer. Play gta vice city online with a friend with a modded psvita is awesome. Now I just need to find a friend lol
So psp games played on vita can connect ad hoc with someone playing the game on original psp?
SuperJumpReviews yes it is amazing old technology that still works don’t need to be connected to the internet
I've finished The 3rd Birthday and was blown away by that game for a handheld, but if you say The Red Star is up there then I best give it go.
Great 👍 video
I'm actually quite sad that gitaroo man wasn't ported into psvita
Is it similar to the ps2 version?
@@SuperJumpReviews yeah but I think it had a different story. Probably a sequel. I forgot.
dude …. never stop making videos … pls
I'll try. But it's so much work though🤣
@@SuperJumpReviews I know it is man )
The main thing I remember about the PSP port of Ape Escape on the PSP was its wonky controls compared to the original. It looked nice, at leas.
Well, you're in luck, cause now it plays just like the original on the ps vita🙂
Coded Arms & Coded Arms Contaigion. One game is a Rogue-like game while the other is a linear story shooter.
It’s worth trying it out.
I think you're being a little too harsh on Soul Calibur 😂
14:06 u talked about the game indeed lol
And yes. I saw some similarity with parasite Eve that's what made me interested
Parasite eve is awesome!
3rd bday is really cool .
A hacked Vita is still my favorite handheld ever made.
Cool. Thanks for that explanation. I can tell you enjoy playing psp games on your vita👍
I was hopeful we'd eventually get Grand Knight History picked up for localization again, a US release of White Knight Chronicles Origins or that Phantasy Star Portable 1 and 2 as well as Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Tag Team got re-listed.
Much sadness...
Good list, might give that Medal of Honor a try. I’d give an honorable mention to Justice League Heroes if you like Marvel ultimate alliance, and Gangs of London If you like GTA
Is Justice League Heroes basically the DC version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance? If it is then I'm in!
@@SuperJumpReviews it has similar gameplay, but the roster is pretty slim compared to MUA
SuperJumpReviews oh and the guy who plays Hellboy is Batman in the game lol
Had no clue about the 3rd birthday on vita /psp. Thank you so much for that.
What other games are they not showing on the vita menu I wonder...

The resistance & killzone PSP games, and MGS peace walker are also pretty great on Vita. It’s a shame Crisis Core FF7 can never get a rerelease or put on the ps store. I’d rebuy it to play it on vita 😩
I wish kingdom hearts birth by sleep was on the vita. I'd buy that game.
The addition of doing crashbreaker outside of crash modes made me like Dominator more than Burnout Legends

What you're using with the super move thing is a shortcut button, the layout is a bit complicated but you can get used to it. And calling it a Street Fighter clone is a bit redundant too because just being a fighting game doesn't mean it's a copy

You really should try some of those other games, especially The Red Star.

Oh man, now you hurt my feelings haha, j/k. its all good.
@@SuperJumpReviews hehe ;-).
SUCH A GOOD GAME!!!I got it for free when psn got hacked they were giving out those free games
The music is amazing I listen to it at work for more strength
The gun play is so damn good and the adrenaline rush is soo good. LOVE LOVE this game
Brown Destiny would’ve been the complete package had it had an arcade mode. The fact it doesn’t have one is mine boggling.
You didn't like the first Parasite Eve? I thought it was pretty good. I haven't played the second though which I have heard mixed results from people.

Highly recommended!
