Enjoyed the walk through the woods. Love hearing the birds singing and the running water at the spring. Can not get any better than that. Thanks for the video. Go bless you and Vonnie in all that y’all do. From deep southeast Mississippi ❤
Here in upper michigan, we have bear problems! We have chickens, sheep and goats. I feed the birds in winter and wild turkey too. Hope you have your gun that far from camp!! Enjoy you and vonnie.
Martin, thanks for the great program... You really should consider a small satellite shed or lean-to out near the pond to securely store your trail equipment... you've done so much work, it's absence stands out as an obvious oversight....
I’ve said it before, but what a beautiful place you have up there. So glad to have discovered your channel, during the polar vortex of 2013/14. Enjoyed watching ever since. 👍
We should all strive to conduct ourselves as our Lord Jesus conducted himself. I must say that Martin is a role model too. I believe the Lord is using your channel to inspire people, Martin. Humble, kind, loving, faithful and definitely a lot of self control! The fruits of the Holy Spirit! God bless
Sure great to see cabin videos with all the hate and ignorance going on in our country right now! It cleanses the mind and puts us at peace. I was going to contact you about needing help up at your cabin. Would have definitely lent a hand but I had to use my vacation to visit my elderly mom in Texas. Would love to be in on the experience building that.
Thanks for another beautiful morning video Martin, I too have a few blue jays that great me early morning looking for some meal worms. Kinda laughed when your flicker called out and the jays here heads popped up wondering where that bird came from. Anyways have a great day my friend.
We have a few spots of hazelnut brush, and the animals seem to find them first. But it looks like it could be a good year for them. I would like to get some planted and make another area for them.
Martin I think you should check out the Blue Eddie portable electric batteries with solar panels to change it up. Lots of people get them free just to do a video of them and a review. I think it would be great for you at the log cabin
Martin, I’m curious on how you were able to get the birds to come to you from the beginning? For their feeding from your hand? I wanna try that with our birds here where we live . Enjoy all your videos . ❤❤
Chickadees are an easy one to tame. Just stand closer to the bird feeder all the time and then start putting your hand out. Some make a dummy in a chair and then after a few days put on the same clothes and sit down with seed.
I think a 6 tooth carbide cutter 4 inch disk for a battery angle grinder would be useful for dressing up notches in logs,i have never used it for that but with a little practice i think you could smooth a ruff notch with it, I have one from HF.i will email you a picture
I’ve been watching for a while now , always enjoyable . If you’ve posted about Bear damage at the cabin , I’m sorry for asking …Have the Bears attacked the cabin and have they been successful?

Martin, when I watch I often turn on my Merlin app so I can identify the birds.. I thought the last call from the flicker was actually a Pileated wood pecker but the app said flicker. The app also called the yellow flicker a northern flicker. Do they have different calls? Also, what bird was making the last calls right as the video ended? The app couldn't identify it.
I think it was Red Breasted Nuthatches and a Blue Jay at the end. In the spring the flicker uses a call like the Pileated. Flicker full names have been updated over the years, I can't keep up.
As you are sitting there having your snack I can hear noise like a waterfall in the distance or maybe the wind but I cant see the trees moving ! Is there a highway or something in the distance ? Maybe it is just the camera or something. Or maybe I ask to many questions !
Confused with comments about no whitetail deer over wintered in your area. Do the deer naturally migrate south or are the numbers of deer dropping. Your area definitely has an established wolf population, unsure if your videos suggest a balance between deer herd size and wolf population. Been watching your videos since the beginning and your videos suggest wolf population has increased in northern Minnesota. Be safe out there that's one big bear
The deer sometimes live in my forested area but for the most part live 30 miles east in farm country. Heavy snow early in the winter pushes them into my area for the cedar browse. Wolves follow then around somewhat. I feel the wolves are about the same in my area.
Thank you for the peace and tranquility you bring to this world.
Martin, you are such a good steward of the land. Definitely Gods country up there.thanks for the memories.🌲🏠🌲
Love to share as always
Glad to see getting a day of rest in to appreciate all that beautiful country side
More important to me every year.
I really enjoyed seeing the nice scenery here and
thanks for the hike it is awesome thank you.🇺🇲👋
Good to hear
The older I get, the more I love hearing the birds. Really enjoyed the throne portion of this video. Blessings.
My favorite spot for a variety of birds.
Martin, you make us realize just how good life is if one just stops and observes! Thanks for another great video. God Bless to all.
Thanks for another great visit, very much appreciated.
Nice to share the good times
Thank you once again for a great video!!!!
As always it is nice to have the company
Martin, you’re the “bird whisperer” in today’s video… !.. Very enjoyable… I can very much relate as I watch from my humble cabin in the Adirondacks….
As you know, so nice to b out there
Martin, all l can say is. You're living the life. That's such a wonderful 1 to live. Live it up my friend. Getting to hot too log cabin for sure.
You got that right!
Martin I'm going to guess that bear was definitely going to help you with the chores no question about it 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very peaceful. Thank you. 👍🏻
You noticed!
Morning coffee and a Martin video. Life is good. Thanks for bringing us along for a Saturday morning walk.
Heading to Rundle Lake soon,

Awesome ,wildlife and Martin , good to see you , much love **

you won't have time to get a shot off if a bear hunts you
Do not usually carry a gun when walking, maybe not the best idea but even sows with cubs have always headed away.
Such a peaceful walk, beautiful bird songs❤
They make my day.

Good to hear from you, Martin
Everything looks quiet and peaceful. Take care.
It was
A King, sitting on his Throne, feeding his subjects! That looked very relaxing. ☕🥧🤤
How true
Relentless Black Bears ! You are certainly in the North Woods Martin, Thanks for sharing that adventure this morning :-)
It is nice they do not wander in my yard.
Enjoy your weekend
Thank you, I will
Thank you Martin really appreciate your channel
You are very welcome
Good morning happy to see a new video
Glad to oblige
Nice relaxing time.
For sure
Thank you, Martin. Enjoyed your walk.
It was a good one, but then up there they all are.
Mornin Martin! ☕️. Never heard of that bird, cool song
Amazing what lingers out there,
Very enjoyable video,thanks Martin
Very welcome
I bet when you get back home, you would seem nothing but relaxed. Glad you have some where to go to get away.
Even just as I head out I have that feeling of refreshment.

So nice to go on a walk with you.
Good to have the company.
Thanks, Martin! So calm and peaceful ...and I'm liking it, how the bear is leaving you alone. Love from Alberta. 👍😎🇨🇦🐻
By keeping a clean camp he has no reasons to come close.
Nice to see you relaxing and exploring. You've been moving too many logs and boulders, brother.
I agree

@@TheNorthwoodsman1 yes that would be great. Would love to experience that up there. Maybe get a chance to feed the birds!
Good morning from Ohio ❤ 😊
Thanks for checking in.
Thank you!!
THANK YOU
Most welcome
Thanks for another beautiful morning video Martin, I too have a few blue jays that great me early morning looking for some meal worms. Kinda laughed when your flicker called out and the jays here heads popped up wondering where that bird came from. Anyways have a great day my friend.
Those jays can be mischief makers.
Good morning. Coffee with Martin, enjoy!
The best of times
Thanks for showing us Hawks pond, it’s been awhile.
Yes it had been.
Good morning friends!
Missed you
The bear is trying to confuse hikers by changing the sign. 😂
Sneaky that way.
Geez... I had planned a solo hike 🥾 (with Garmin) to Hawk's Pond during the cabin raising. After video cam visitor footage, rethinking...
Never a problem, they run away especially with chatty Kathies
Great video
Thanks
We have a few spots of hazelnut brush, and the animals seem to find them first. But it looks like it could be a good year for them. I would like to get some planted and make another area for them.
I was told that they need sunlight to produce a good crop.
I really wish I had a little cabin in the woods.
So simple yet so rare.

I will look into them.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 I think it's a good idea and many give them away for a review on your TH-cam channel
Theres a bear…where…over there 👍🏻🥰😜😉
A dirty trick I have pulled on occasion.
A butt rest Vonnies apple pie and tea time
Nothing better, all in the prep work.
Good vid
Thanks
I have had a lot of bear hits on my bird feeders lately. Had to take them down. Had to put the garbage can into the garage. Bemidji Minnesota.
Yeah, bird feeders seem to be a real draw for the bears. I never dare put out sunflower as I do not want it left there come spring time at the cabin.

Need to check that out. Hard to control the tip of the chainsaw bar.

INTERESTING THAT THE BIRDS WAY OUT FROM THE CABIN, ATE OUT OF YOUR HAND!! THEY REMEMBERED YOU. Do take care. Fl.
Probably were cabin birds until they left a few years ago.
👍😃✌️🇺🇸💪❤️

It is a glitch in the software I use to edit a video. Seems if there is no sound this roar builds.
Do you bring cherry pies with you in the field? Just in case you run into that bear.
He is NOT going to get one.

Martin was you area hit with the heavy rain and flooding that Minn recently saw?
Mostly that slipped by to the SE.
This is a good video, but it would've been better if I were at home watching instead of at work.
Yeah, that would be a buzz killer.
So beautiful
How can anyone not believe in Jesus? God is good all the time ‼️
Amen!
Gramps, when are we going to see this cabin of yours? I've paid in advance for a suite.
Yeah Yeah your deposit is your guarantee before I jack up the rent.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 Thanks Gramps. Could I chide you for a view towards the old cabin?
Do you fish anymore ?
A change of pace from the regular bird watching and tree felling, would be good viewing.
Heading to Manitoba for camping and fishing soon. No fishing near the cabin,
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 👍
Here an old timer told of cabin corner construction he called the Swedish notch. Did your research show anything like that?🖐🏞
Not sure but I have seen a lot of different ways to notch.
