I always enjoy joining you at the cabin seeing what your up to , love hearing your chats and seeing the critters is always a joy. It puts me in a better mindset Thanks Martin for your videos . Watching from London Ontario Canada
Good morning Martin! Like you I've been watching birds too. I've been keeping my eye on a Bald Eagle's 🦅 nest and it has 2 chicks almost full grown! Seeing that cold weather makes me shiver! Hopefully, this will be a great year for the progress on the guest Cabin. Hace a great week! 🐇
Martin, Just a tip on using unleaded in your lantern. The generator will eventually clog as the fuel isn't as pure (filtered) as Coleman Fuel. I've collected lanterns for a long time and found this to be the case. I'd keep an extra generator at the cabin just in case. Love your channel and look forward to each video. I have a small cabin also, but not off grid. I guess I like the indoor plumbing too much, :) CB
Thank you Martin for another great video. Beautiful there at your cabin. Enjoy your time there and the best of health to you. Jerry D. Western Massachusetts.
Lovely time spent at the cabin. too bad about the strictness when it comes to the use of music. ....lovely to listen to the songs as you enjoy them in your comfy chair.
Martin im writing this Mar 22,2024. I was watching an old To Tell the Truth show with Garry Moore, dont know the year but he had Jimmy Sturr on,king of the polka. I looked him up but can't remember what yr it was on,or details about him his show, his music, etc! He was a good musician. Didn't know if you knew of him, first thing i thought of was you, and your programs you listen to, and familiar with!!
Just left Vonnie cooking chicken. Now I am so hungry seeing her video. I do have my first cup of coffee so I might survive. Had to come to the cabin and see what you are doing. Still cold there . We are into spring here in Mississippi. With lots of rain and everything blooming and leafing out. Pollen everywhere which which makes my breathing difficult most of the time due to allergies. But it is so beautiful outside this time of the year. Good bless you and Vonnie. From deep southeast Mississippi 😊
We don't have either of those species here in the Sierra's but I do have the sporty White-headed Woodpecker which is fond of our Ponderosa trees. It is interesting that your woody's contact call is similar to our bird.
I can do it but you never know what will happen to the video once you upload it. TH-cam has a great plan for that but it can vary with whatever the artist told them to do when they detect their music.
That grove of standing tamaraks with no bark... darn beetles. Nice birding lesson on black-back woodpeckers. Duluth Trading... no Go Fund Me needed. Gasoline inside...😢
There are lead substitutes for engines that needed it but leaded fuel was banned in I believe 1996. It was only necessary to prevent damage to valves that were made from softer steel before then.
I used to receive the Deluth catalog almost every item was imported…I called the company and asked why so few items made in USA…they stopped sending me the catalog…lol.
I know you can but I have rescued not sure how many lanterns and stoves because the gasoline gums them up. Walmart sells plenty of the Colman fuel and a off brand white gas the stuff is much better for the lanterns and stoves than the regular gasoline.
I've had the same experience. Gasoline is great in a pinch, but even Coleman's instructions say to expect to clean them more often running unleaded. I stick to white gas most of the time.
@@russelltackett4779 Coleman fuel and white gas are the same thing. Just depends what brand you're buying what they call it. I use generic, non-coleman, white gas pretty consistently.
❤
Always good to see you. Enjoy having my Saturday mornimg coffee with you at the cabin 👍🏻🇺🇲
Still one more trip loaded for Sat. mornings.
YOU HAVE SUCH A BALANCED WORK ETHIC, MARTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SWEET RABBIT!!!! Do take care. Fl.
Thank you, I will
I love the way you describe the woodpeckers. Outstanding work Martin!
Many thanks!

I'm so glad!
Old dogs can learn new tricks! Coleman Fuel (white gas) is just unleaded gas! I haven't run Coleman fuel in my lanterns or stoves for 20 years.
One of my favorite channels. I love your cabin Martin. The simplicity of it all.
Thank you kindly
Sunday mornings, Martin and coffee. Life is good.
A nice plan
Thanks Martin for another video. Love how the snow puts a new perspective on the forest.
Me too.
Those Snowshoe hates are looking mighty healthy 😊
No wolves around this year to keep them running and lean.
Thanks for another great visit, safe travels.
Appreciated
Great visit
Thanks
Watching your videos has put me on the road from my home in Bloomington MN to the cabin by Talmoon MN more than a few times.
I try to be a good influence.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 And you are. Thanks.
Martin ...I never get tired of saying thank you for your channel
I appreciate that
It is really nice and awesome up there thanks for showing
the beautiful scenery and thank you.🇺🇲🏘️🏘️🇺🇲
It sure fits my taste.
That left chair looks mighty nice
Must have been talking to Bud, he was really concerned about its condition in years past so took care of it.
Always a pleasure to visit with you. Have a great weekend
That is the plan.
Awesome Sir!! Now I'm moving over to to see Vonnie's chicken cutlets, and biscuits. God Bless!!
So I won this morning, we keep score you know.
I got a ton of those pileated pecker woods around here by the house. I just lovem!!
Good morning! Time to make the coffee and see what Martin has in store for us. Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy and extra cup on me.
Thanks for the video.
You are welcome!
Was fun to watch, Martin. 😊 thanks
Thanks for stopping by.
That pot of beans looked delicious!
GULP!

The cabin should get off the ground this fall.

Thanks for that info on longtime use of gas.
Martin, those back straps looked wonderful! Hey, Thank U Sir ! :-)
The rabbit standing on his hind legs! Checking the perimeter! Awesome
Backstraps always hit the spot up there.
Good morning Martin! ☕ Always great to have you dropping by on Saturday morning! 👍😎🇨🇦❄🌲🪶
Morning
Thank you Martin for another great video. Beautiful there at your cabin. Enjoy your time there and the best of health to you. Jerry D. Western Massachusetts.
Thanks, always a great time at that cabin.
Happy Saturday Martin 😊
And to you too.
A walk in the snowy woods while I drink my coffee. Nice.
Nothing beats a snowy walk.
Beautiful, Thank you!
Nice to have you dropping in.
Martin is 1 of my favorite! Awesome hard working man ❤ Thank you for always sharing. God Bless with love from Ohio😊
I appreciate that!

I do enjoy them but can't really air them in the videos without full permissions.
Airbnb built is coming along. thxs for sharing...
Can't wait!
Thank you for the update! Blessed to get to enjoy your videos.
Appreciate the feed back.
Martin, another enjoyable day at the cabin! Is that the Easter Bunny on your camera? 🐇 Happy St.Patricks Day!🍀
Yes, that is why I will probably never eat one of them up there.
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Martin, that snowshoes Hair would be excellent in the crock pot. Onion, Cream of Celery soup, mixed vegetables over rice. A meal fit for Royalty ❗
Great idea but never pursued one.
Good to see you relaxing! Having my morning coffee with ya....cant wait to see you new cabin started. The prep work is going great with the logs
Can't wait!

Great bird Martin! Only seen it once in Northern Maine years ago.
They keep me on alert as they do not show up very often.

I saw clouds of pollen blowing off our cedar trees yesterday.
Good morning!
Hello there!

The American Three-toed is probably closer to you than the Black-backed.

Sad to hear that you can't play music While you're in the cabin and video taping.. Enjoyed the video with you and kevin listening to music...

I've burned many gallons of unleaded gas in a non dual fuel colem.. stove and not had any problems. Knock on wood. Have a good week Martin.
Seems to be different opinions on this from other comments, seems fine now.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1oh, I see those comments now. Cleaning the stove jet only takes a few minutes. Pretty simple.
Is there such a thing any more of "leaded gas"?
There are lead substitutes for engines that needed it but leaded fuel was banned in I believe 1996. It was only necessary to prevent damage to valves that were made from softer steel before then.
woodpeckers could be talking in morse code 😳 wouldnt that be something lol
Oh they are.

Carhartt's are made in USA
@@mikezweber4433 Good to know…thanks.
Did that trail cam happen to catch a glimpse of Grown Man David?
More of cabin partner JIm.
Martin do you still answer question, or has the audience grown so much that it is impossible?
Eventually I get to them, in Utah right now
Is that a rare bird?
As long as you don't cook it to long😅
Only in that it usually hangs out further north in Canada.
What happen to Jim and the rest of your friends did you put the cabin build on hold The old cabin is nice enough Take it easy.
Jim is getting his knee cleaned up, Kevin is roaming elsewhere this time and David just can't seem to really retire.
You sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag on a foam mattress?
It saves space, is nice and cool for good sleeping and my mattress is very comfortable. Easy to make the bed in the morning too.

Gas is better and cheaper than that Coleman fuel for sure
Thanks for the heads up. I hate gummed up Coleman anything.

You were wrong about no Martens spotted on you trail camera there was surely one Martin spotted trekking about!
You got me!
Martin do you still ski ? I noticed you don’t mention it much anymore.
Not as much. Once we get some trails packed I like the quietness of a walk over the screech of skis on icy snow.
