I think that FIX A FLAT is an excellent product as long as people understand what it is. It is a TEMPORARY fix to get you out of trouble. If your stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire, or very low air pressure in your tire, it's much easier to put FIX A FLAT in and drive home or drive directly to the tire center and get a new tire as soon as possible. It is not a long term or permanent solution to a flat tire, or a tire that has a slow leak. So basically it's just a way to get you and your car home safely, or to an auto center safely in the event of a leaking or flat tire. People also need to understand that once you put this in your tire, the tire is basically considered NO GOOD. It can't be repaired and it can't be fixed or saved. Even the auto center will refuse to repair the tire once FIX A FLAT has been used. It is basic tire industry knowledge that once FIX A FLAT has been used the tire is now considered no good and no longer can be fixed. My best advice to anyone with a tire issue is to first look at the tire. If the tire has a very slow leak you can probably drive it to the auto center if there is still enough air in the tire as long as the tire is not so flat that your car is literally riding on the rim. If the tire is VERY FLAT, try and put FIX A FLAT in and then drive to the auto center to get a new tire. In some cases, if your tire is so badly damaged, FIX A FLAT might not be able to help you. In that case your going to have to put your spare tire on. Once at the auto center, GET A NEW TIRE. Replacing one single tire usually is not that expensive and having a new tire is your best bet. It's definitely CHEAPER to have the tire repaired but your much better off with a brand new tire if you can afford it.

Untrue tho yo! My experience has been using this exact brand three separate times with screw or nail punctures with full deflation, left the object in there every time, and it was a permanent fix every time. I was even able to fill up the tires when getting a little low after a few months as well. I’m not sure if my experience was a fluke or not, but if it was, it was a fluke thst happened to me 100% of the time with multiple tries....

pretty good video other than the fact that you're doing the exact opposite of the instructions which state that the puncture should be at the 6 which is down low at the bottom and that the valve if possible should be as high up near the 12 as much as possible but the priority is that you have the puncture at the six position.

I have a question. I guess common sense if you have a flat tire and you pull over the side of the road and put fix the flat in the tire aren't you still in the jam of not having any air to put in it.. It would seem if I have to call a tow truck just to put air in my tire I might as well have them change to the spare.. I could be misunderstanding everyone maybe you're talking about a very very slow leak but you still need to put air in the tire so I guess you're supposed to use this product and then drive to a gas station and fill it up.. It would seem more logical to pay the $20 to have the tire taken off and patched

FYI, your should really take the car on more than just a few minute drive after applying it, and it should be at high speeds like on a highway. I made the mistake of putting this stuff in my tire to fix a tiny pin-hole leak from a crappy patch job. I drove it around in slow city traffic for about 20 minutes then parked it at home. Next day I go to work and I have a large shimmy / oscillating vibration on the highway at above 60MPH, and it gets worse with higher speeds. So I'm guessing this stuff didn't spread evenly before it hardened. At least the leak is gone, but now my $300 Michelin is headed for the landfill...

From experience yes, it does make it harder. The product has to be removed and there's always a big puddle of it in there, after you wipe it all out you still need to rinse it out with water and then wipe it dry again. This takes a lot of time and time is money, the longer the job takes the less money you make for the job. You never hear them complain because they don't want to lose a customer but I guarantee when they see that mess in there they're cussing.

Is the screw big, is head of the screw still attached, what area of the tire is the screw in, etc. If you can visibly see the screw then I would remove the screw. However, this is risky because all the air can leak out faster. (if the screw is really big you may not be able to remove it unless you a tire plug kit, see video link below ). Leaving the screw in and pour the contents of Fix-a-Flat will only buy a little time. Best of luck and let me know how it goes? _RandomFix

All the cans I've used in the last year or so including other brands of failed where they used to work in the past. Something has happened in the manufacturing process for the chemical makeup of the ingredients. I rarely get 10% of the contents to go into the tire now. Not the instructions say that you should not tip the can upside down but I guess you're doing that too you're just waiting till the very end of it the last little bit what I noticed was not much air goes into the tire from the can like maybe a pound should it be more than that it just seems like it would be more than that and I cannot find an answer anywhere on the website of fix a flat I can't find it anywhere no mechanic has ever told me they don't know and I don't think they care because they don't like fixing flat in general because of the bad rap it's bad over the years I'm causing fires from the old style old formula that was flammable and everyone still believes that there's a problem all you do is warn them that they're fix a flat and they'll know to look out for the liquid that can splash out at them if they're doing a quick and dirty tire pop to replace a tire if they're just going to let the air out and you let them know it's not going to be spraying out at them but it's just still a good idea to let them know they're fixing it whoever's working on your tire.
