Sanctum-focused builds are like old deep Delve builds - they look like crap at first cos they are crap at pretty much anything else. They have virtually no survivability cos in both Sanctum and deep Delves survivability isn't really the point. The downside is that's all they can do.

Hey Lance, Awesome video, thanks for making it. Using this and your walk-through, I managed to get pretty decent at sanctum. I found a few minor improvements I thought I'd share: - Anointing Disciple of Slaughter instead of Overcharge is a significant increase in damage for me; 8% damage per frenzy charge is just bonkers on this character; plus, it allows to easily do maps without switching boots at the start of the map, which is a huge quality of life improvement for me - The Diamond Flask was unnecessary for me to reach 100%, and Sulphur Flask does add a little more damage - The pathing through damage nodes at the start of the tree can be substitued for the two intelligence nodes, and extra 2 points can go to (a) 15% crit multi with mines; and (b) 14% mine damage (or, at level 100 instead of 14% mine damage we grab Heartseeker (30% crit multi)) I also got Iron Will invocation onto my relic. Though this character is obviously not rich in strength, it's "free". It got me thinking, would there be some reasonable way to leverage Iron Will with some strength stacking on a character similar to this? I lack depth of knowledge to explore this concept, to judge whether it'd be usable or not. Anyway, I've managed some Invocation runs easily thanks to your videos. With some training I'll try a hitless run (I've got Original Sin relic waiting). I keep making small mistakes somewhere along the way, usually with traps and they cost me like 20 resolve per run, there is a lot of patience and precision required for hitless runs. You have my kudos for figuring all of this out. Amazing work, thanks for sharing!

CaptainLance I have to make this comment to say THANK YOU! I was looking for a fun assassin build for the no hit challenge, couldnt come up with something myself and then I tried this out. After 2 days and 2 full no hit run practice runs I attempted the TRUE no-hit run and finished it! I optimized the build with a mageblood which makes it a bit more convenient and allows me to have Hatred aura since I dont need Vitality. Its giga convenient to play BUT... nowhere near 10 div after your video xD Some gems alone are 4-7 div and without them the build doesnt feel good. I'd say you need about 20 - 30 div to comfortably have everything you suggest in your video and then it gets BONKERS. Thanks a lot again, I'm 100div richer now.
how does mageblood allow you to drop vitality? i even have the flask suffix 3% life regen with mageblood and RF still tanks me.. can you explain? i'd like to fit hatred

yeah sometimes I forget to grab pact rewards, luckily this was on floor 2 so the best thing that could have been there would have 16 sextants/12stack decks which isn't a huge lost all together.

Thanks CL9. Cool idea. I tried a very limited version on a trickster (actually your hexblast miner, also good) that I had been using. It failed miserably untill I fixed the gear a bit and realised that I had forgotten the snakepit, so no chains and ulamans not working. After fixing that it started to work much better, so hoping for more luck in sanctums now.
Man your builds are always so crazy, I love the constant innovation and passion to try new things and new tech. Do you think you could try producing some SSF viable builds sometime? I would be interested to see what you could come up with using easily acquirable gear and abusing the skill tree like you do.
Probably better to use a Malachai's Loop instead of a second Void Battery. I can confirm you don't loose the charges if you start with the maximum (boot swap)
You can also use a weapon swap with Jaws of Agony + Any Trap, saw someone else doing hitless runs with BV and using that at the beginning of each room to cap their power charges. Ralakesh is probably better since you get frenzy as well unfortunatly.
unfortunately we really really want frenzy charges as I view the throw and proj speed we get from them as much more important so definitely still would highly recommend ralakesh
Tech wich i started to use wich is awesome 2nd wep set with trigger craft and portal in it you swap to it intsa cast L click skill and drop portal - you trade 1 leveling or max2 for insta cast portal so much comfort - next leuge prob first what i gonna do get that setup as soon as i hit maps
the wallchain rolls for all projectiles of a single mine so on avg all of the projectiles of every 5th mine will wall bounce at least thats how it works for tornado shot so idk why it'd be different for ice mine
interesting, I was not aware of this, you may be right on this. I am not sure. Ultimately the wall chain was very helpful for clearing sanctum on a regular basis from my experience.

I realised a couple of days ago that Sanctum is actually GGG's answer for the old school deep delve players that needed all damage, no life. And i thought It's only a matter of time before the real king comes out.. Icicle mines.
basically what my mind was thinking, trying to process what skills would operate well in the environment, first I tried spark which I had issues with some rooms have enemies on different planes that made them hard to target, next I tried a brand character that was just a complete disaster but third times the charm icicle mine went fantastically.
70% flask effect enchant + 25% increased flask effect prefix ruby flask works well with a T1 life regen suffix ring. May work even better if you get the regen % life suffix on a flask as well. Source: I'm currently running this build with Mageblood
I just built this and just now realised your sanctum isn't shared between characters (yes, I've been basically playing standard for the last two months :p ). So how do you set up for a sanctum run with this char then? Surely the answer isn't "just do 32 maps with your ZHP miner", right? Right?
farruls fur instead on chest(go for +2 corrupt if you can(aura should be cheap)) -> drop damage and grab hp/suppress/grace aura. don't reserve life.(need aspect of cat)

It is actually a rly good build for its purpose, did like 30 runs with it without a problem. as soon as you are confident with the rooms etc it's a absolut blast (unlucky me I never dropped the relic but carried a friend successfully ) :D
I wonder why did you have to do a specialized build? while normal icicle mine assassin has more than enough damage to melt everything and can do all content as well !!
This actually the build that I play last league,the itemization is similiar,I still keep the char in std,and yes projectile speed and throwing speed scaling PC/Frenzy from alt gem make icicle miner assasin superior.
i have a stupid question... i poured some serious cash into this build and now that i set it up... how to you get to the sanctum? 6 portals is not enough to reach the encounter in a map.
skill issue... this build can actually map decently well, there are some mechanics you have to ban/avoid, but others it's really good at. I'm running a tree focused on essence, harvest and legion and I even occasionally full clear a map on a single portal.
@@AximVidya that was meant more as a joke. but i started out running the 8 mod crimson temple maps i rejected from when i farmed my mageblood so on top of CT not being a good layout for this build, the maps had a lot of packsize and horrible mods. i then switched to Atoll/Coves and probably farmed over a hundred sanctums with this build. unfortunately i only ever got 1 original scripture but this build made the no hit run super easy.
Sanctum is fun. farming room is tiresome to the point where I think I had gotten enough. It would sucks less if I can store a full run when I'm mindlessly mapping. Switching play style is is not great. (I have the same problem with delve)
how would you change the build if you wanted to make this character specialized in doign Sanctum, but being able to take hits sometimes? Like a Sanctum character, but not only for hitless runs, but for general farming Sanctums
Drop damage and pick up defenses / dont reserve life pool with zealotry. grab spell suppress(close to good wheels). go for +1 power charge suppress helm instead, get ele avoid on boots + ele avoid on shield spell damage node, ailment immune cap + spell suppress + try to fit in grace and get around 4k life. this may be dropping to much damage but gear can compensate. I am not sure 100%
will Nimis actually be detrimental to the build ? or just x2 dps due to proj returning Edit : i actually completed the no hit run with this build with some modifications to the gear, thanks captainlance !!!
I like the build per se but farming sanctum room storage with this build has to be the worst experience Ive ever had in all of my poe career...Sanctum with this character tho is a blast :D
it represents 90%+ projectile speed which I believe is fairly important, I was doing hitless sanctum runs without faster proj initially so its probably doable without that alt quality but its strongly advised to get that alt quality.

Yeah pls make the video on how to do hitless runs. Quite often the first boss animation hits me on bosses 3, 4.1 and 4.2, even if I kill them in seconds. Also how does this character perform vs the other bosses? Can it do certain ubers?
Third boss is really hard to dodge but here's a thing: Boss fight starts from appearance in middle; then goes lasers from the BOTTOM to the top, the best way to start from left or right wall and move in separate side when she charging attack/slash while doing damage and move to the exit because there is always safe spot from lasers. Works in 99% of the time, she got baited in left ot right side and i just sneak past and then can bait her in circle.
I will do my best to talk through each floor boss as well as rooms for hitless when I work on guide walkthrough video for it. it can do ubers with a few deaths simply by outplaying the boss and dealing damage but I don't really recommend it?
you simply don't run RF, don't reserve zealotry, and you are virtually immune to every kind of lab trap. all traps, except for the fonts casting various novas, do damage based on a percentage of your max HP, so as a build with low max HP but high flat regen, they don't bother us at all. this boi is actually a decent lab farmer funnily enough.
this char setup I showcased was roughly 10 divines, most items should be price spike resistant but I can't promise that for every single piece, definitely check item prices before commiting to character.
I was only doing carries for two days to showcase the build and help some people get their rings, don't want to become "the carry" guy as a content creator it feels like a cheap way to leverage viewership for easy money which just kindof feels wrong.
i hope you dont plan on doing a deathless run as discharge as you'll get offscreened by some archer guy or the sword guy will start his attack animation offscreen and youll run into it
never heard of kayns build nor did I look at any icicle mine assassin builds before making this character. Generally speaking if I see someone else's build before I make a build I steer clear of it as it kills my enjoyment especially if I know the character will be built similarly.
As a preface, I heard this from a friend who was among the people you attempted to carry the no-hit for, so I might not be fully informed, if I'm not I'll gladly delete/edit this comment! Shouldn't it be mention somewhere that you only made it to lycia once with the no-hit relic on in like 6 or 7 attempts when you were offering carries?
Think he mentioned dying several times due to his own errors, and few times due to the Carry's errors. Not sure how much more he needs to say. Even added he wanted to practice more before doing more, which makes sense if he started off 1/7. Boss fights look tough to avoid hits without a lot of practice, even if you only need 2 sec
that seems like a good ratio to me, most people dont have a chance at winning. a 1/7 chance is better than 0. THe fact the build can do it is already good enough
Hitless run count for my 2 days I ran carry services: 6/17 bricks by me (2 to scriptorium boss / 2 off screen archer I didn't prefire correctly / 1 on floor 2 boss, dashed into boss after he died and he insta exploded blob / 1 on floor 3 boss had giga slow effects on boss and couldn't tell which was she was doing her initial swing and ran into it) 3/17 bricks by client all running ahead of me into ice trap(2 of which were on floor four, and we never bricked on floor 4 besides these 2)(floor 4 is easiest floor for this build imo) 7/17 success and ring acquired. These were all streamed on my twitch if you want proof the past 2 days. I do not plan on doing anymore carries, I simply wanted to showcase the build and help some people get some rings. Of the runs I did as solo practice runs, I succeeded 6/7 times only losing my first attempt on lycia not knowing correctly how to dodge her first attack, I now have a strategy that has never failed since then and its quite safe/consistent. Take this information how you will, but never did I fail a run because of the build. all fails were due to simple errors on my end that I have learned from and will detail as advice in my guide for running hitless sanctum. Also doing carries are much harder than just solo runs imo as the enemies have double the health and there is a lot more stress/pressure in carrying someone else's run. also I mostly let the runners choose are paths on sanctum not wanting to micro manage them over discord so there 100% could be errors in play that caused us to get worse boons/afflictions in runs.
this build should be fairly resistant to price spikes giving how common many of the core items in the build are. that being said usually if there is a price spike it goes mostly back down within a week for many builds I make so patience over buying overpriced flipper items is generally a good rule of thumb.
DIESOFCRINGE, now this is some real luck right there. I remember Empy making project sanctum and he get 3 from 33 or something (Probably lucky but still) and 1/80 is just fck bad
There’s a certain point where you do so much damage that it doesn’t matter. Even on 15 divine setup everything is instantly deleted. Upgrades are just if you take like rusted sword afflictions or you don’t get extra damage boons.
something with zone changes makes that sound which is a bit annoying but ultimately the worst is on a couple of the trap rooms I feel like I have to use ralakesh or charges will run out.
there are pros to cons to every build archetype and often some archetypes aren't perfectly balanced, but generally speaking dot archetypes have very safe playstyles with high uptime dps which can be quite comfy while trapper/miners have a worse playstyle/feelsbad quality but at the reward of dealing higher damage typically.
@@CaptainLance9 while i agree on everything that you said miners and trappers arent limited in small boss zones like most of what path of exile provide even the sanctum league could be considered as a whole as a boss zone since it so small and narrow it benefit miners , trappers,minions and bow man so much :)

keep in mind I have been going hard at sanctum pretty much the whole league, overtime consistently beating runs will get you quite a lot of relics and you will get upgrades far better than what you currently have.

havnt tried this exact build, but i spent around olny a div on an icicle mine and it did around 10 mil dps. very underrated skill

I just built this and just now realised your sanctum isn't shared between characters (yes, I've been basically playing standard for the last two months :p ). So how do you set up for a sanctum run with this char then? Surely the answer isn't "just do 32 maps with your ZHP miner", right? Right?
I didnt got hitless but i have like 6 no recovery runs stacked started rolling this char will see how it goes

is there a standard icicle mine build that does nice damage but can also be used for normal mapping and such, without the clunky boot swap mechanic
farruls fur instead on chest(go for +2 corrupt if you can(aura should be cheap)) -> drop damage and grab hp/suppress/grace aura. don't reserve life.(need aspect of cat)

It is actually a rly good build for its purpose, did like 30 runs with it without a problem. as soon as you are confident with the rooms etc it's a absolut blast (unlucky me I never dropped the relic but carried a friend successfully ) :D
I wonder why did you have to do a specialized build? while normal icicle mine assassin has more than enough damage to melt everything and can do all content as well !!

This actually the build that I play last league,the itemization is similiar,I still keep the char in std,and yes projectile speed and throwing speed scaling PC/Frenzy from alt gem make icicle miner assasin superior.

i have a stupid question... i poured some serious cash into this build and now that i set it up... how to you get to the sanctum? 6 portals is not enough to reach the encounter in a map.
atoll's sanctum thing is super close to the entrance of the map
skill issue... this build can actually map decently well, there are some mechanics you have to ban/avoid, but others it's really good at. I'm running a tree focused on essence, harvest and legion and I even occasionally full clear a map on a single portal.
@@AximVidya that was meant more as a joke. but i started out running the 8 mod crimson temple maps i rejected from when i farmed my mageblood so on top of CT not being a good layout for this build, the maps had a lot of packsize and horrible mods. i then switched to Atoll/Coves and probably farmed over a hundred sanctums with this build. unfortunately i only ever got 1 original scripture but this build made the no hit run super easy.
Is this build still king for no hit budget??
Sanctum is fun. farming room is tiresome to the point where I think I had gotten enough. It would sucks less if I can store a full run when I'm mindlessly mapping. Switching play style is is not great. (I have the same problem with delve)
same, was loving the league but even rushing maps to do as many sanctums as i could it was taking too long and i got tired of wasting maps
how would you change the build if you wanted to make this character specialized in doign Sanctum, but being able to take hits sometimes? Like a Sanctum character, but not only for hitless runs, but for general farming Sanctums
Drop damage and pick up defenses / dont reserve life pool with zealotry. grab spell suppress(close to good wheels). go for +1 power charge suppress helm instead, get ele avoid on boots + ele avoid on shield spell damage node, ailment immune cap + spell suppress + try to fit in grace and get around 4k life. this may be dropping to much damage but gear can compensate. I am not sure 100%

I like the build per se but farming sanctum room storage with this build has to be the worst experience Ive ever had in all of my poe career...Sanctum with this character tho is a blast :D

is the divergent charged mine support absolutely necessary? or can you still do the sanctum without it
it represents 90%+ projectile speed which I believe is fairly important, I was doing hitless sanctum runs without faster proj initially so its probably doable without that alt quality but its strongly advised to get that alt quality.

Yeah pls make the video on how to do hitless runs. Quite often the first boss animation hits me on bosses 3, 4.1 and 4.2, even if I kill them in seconds. Also how does this character perform vs the other bosses? Can it do certain ubers?
it has 200hp. Ubers are doable by just deleting eater/exarch before the fight starts
Third boss is really hard to dodge but here's a thing: Boss fight starts from appearance in middle; then goes lasers from the BOTTOM to the top, the best way to start from left or right wall and move in separate side when she charging attack/slash while doing damage and move to the exit because there is always safe spot from lasers.
Works in 99% of the time, she got baited in left ot right side and i just sneak past and then can bait her in circle.
I will do my best to talk through each floor boss as well as rooms for hitless when I work on guide walkthrough video for it. it can do ubers with a few deaths simply by outplaying the boss and dealing damage but I don't really recommend it?

you do uber lab on hp build and then respec. As always
you simply don't run RF, don't reserve zealotry, and you are virtually immune to every kind of lab trap. all traps, except for the fonts casting various novas, do damage based on a percentage of your max HP, so as a build with low max HP but high flat regen, they don't bother us at all. this boi is actually a decent lab farmer funnily enough.

this char setup I showcased was roughly 10 divines, most items should be price spike resistant but I can't promise that for every single piece, definitely check item prices before commiting to character.

I was only doing carries for two days to showcase the build and help some people get their rings, don't want to become "the carry" guy as a content creator it feels like a cheap way to leverage viewership for easy money which just kindof feels wrong.
And here I am... Making a massive discharge build to one shot everything in the Sanctum. Lol.
i hope you dont plan on doing a deathless run as discharge as you'll get offscreened by some archer guy or the sword guy will start his attack animation offscreen and youll run into it
^ this is 100% a risk, only times I lost a carry to guards were to archers that never entered the screen.
btw you can’t take the lose 50% max resolve on no hit run, you insta die when you take with 1 resolve :))

never heard of kayns build nor did I look at any icicle mine assassin builds before making this character. Generally speaking if I see someone else's build before I make a build I steer clear of it as it kills my enjoyment especially if I know the character will be built similarly.

Shouldn't it be mention somewhere that you only made it to lycia once with the no-hit relic on in like 6 or 7 attempts when you were offering carries?
Think he mentioned dying several times due to his own errors, and few times due to the Carry's errors. Not sure how much more he needs to say. Even added he wanted to practice more before doing more, which makes sense if he started off 1/7. Boss fights look tough to avoid hits without a lot of practice, even if you only need 2 sec
that seems like a good ratio to me, most people dont have a chance at winning. a 1/7 chance is better than 0. THe fact the build can do it is already good enough
Hitless run count for my 2 days I ran carry services:
6/17 bricks by me (2 to scriptorium boss / 2 off screen archer I didn't prefire correctly / 1 on floor 2 boss, dashed into boss after he died and he insta exploded blob / 1 on floor 3 boss had giga slow effects on boss and couldn't tell which was she was doing her initial swing and ran into it)
3/17 bricks by client all running ahead of me into ice trap(2 of which were on floor four, and we never bricked on floor 4 besides these 2)(floor 4 is easiest floor for this build imo)
7/17 success and ring acquired.
These were all streamed on my twitch if you want proof the past 2 days. I do not plan on doing anymore carries, I simply wanted to showcase the build and help some people get some rings.
Of the runs I did as solo practice runs, I succeeded 6/7 times only losing my first attempt on lycia not knowing correctly how to dodge her first attack, I now have a strategy that has never failed since then and its quite safe/consistent.
Take this information how you will, but never did I fail a run because of the build. all fails were due to simple errors on my end that I have learned from and will detail as advice in my guide for running hitless sanctum. Also doing carries are much harder than just solo runs imo as the enemies have double the health and there is a lot more stress/pressure in carrying someone else's run. also I mostly let the runners choose are paths on sanctum not wanting to micro manage them over discord so there 100% could be errors in play that caused us to get worse boons/afflictions in runs.

this build should be fairly resistant to price spikes giving how common many of the core items in the build are. that being said usually if there is a price spike it goes mostly back down within a week for many builds I make so patience over buying overpriced flipper items is generally a good rule of thumb.

There’s a certain point where you do so much damage that it doesn’t matter. Even on 15 divine setup everything is instantly deleted. Upgrades are just if you take like rusted sword afflictions or you don’t get extra damage boons.

something with zone changes makes that sound which is a bit annoying but ultimately the worst is on a couple of the trap rooms I feel like I have to use ralakesh or charges will run out.

miners and trappers are so unfair for the dot archetype that is capped at 35.7m dps
If you actually have 35.7m DPS then pinnacle bosses die in 2 seconds so I'm not sure what the problem is

if you make a 200hp dot build it probably does the same dps as this
there are pros to cons to every build archetype and often some archetypes aren't perfectly balanced, but generally speaking
dot archetypes have very safe playstyles with high uptime dps which can be quite comfy while
trapper/miners have a worse playstyle/feelsbad quality but at the reward of dealing higher damage typically.
@@CaptainLance9 while i agree on everything that you said miners and trappers arent limited in small boss zones like most of what path of exile provide even the sanctum league could be considered as a whole as a boss zone since it so small and narrow it benefit miners , trappers,minions and bow man so much :)

keep in mind I have been going hard at sanctum pretty much the whole league, overtime consistently beating runs will get you quite a lot of relics and you will get upgrades far better than what you currently have.

You don't need +2 dialla's, he's using level 18 gems in this video to negate the +2., a normal one is perfectly fine.

no its like 5 div, he's using a level 18 gem to counteract the +2 gem on the chest so the chest corruption implicit means nothing
