I’m all for receiving the communion on the tongue but they MUST bring back the communion paten.
Some extraordinary ministers are afraid when someone wants to receive it on the tongue and I noticed that they aren’t confident in giving communion out on the tongue.
I had like 5 host drop from the ceburium once because the communion stuck to her fingers and my reflex was to catch it but ended up hitting the ceburium and knocking down like 5-7 hosts on the floor.
So please bring back the Communion Paten. Please!!

What do you mean "her fingers"? You should be receiving communion from a priest only.

I'm Still doing it every Holy Mass.
Kailangan turuan ng ating mga pari ang mga parishioners if in case na magtatake sila ng communion by hand. Pero personally, communion sa tongue/bibig ako.

As an Eucharistic minister, I understand Fr. Chad's concerns about receiving in the hands that are leading people to other abuses, including fragments falling onto the ground where people trample on our Lord. I advocate for us to install communion rails to receive Jesus properly kneeling down and on the tongue with complete reverence. The bigger concern is that people do not receive Jesus in the state of grace. I have to do a daily examination of my conscience to ensure that I remain in a state of grace to receive Holy Communion. Being in a state of grace does not mean one is without sins, but not mortal sins. Venial sins are sins of omission in our thoughts, words, and what we fail to do. One has to meet three conditions for mortal sins to occur- grave matter, full knowledge, and deliberate action. 5th commandment has to do with the sanctity of life, not terminating innocent lives in the womb to include contraception. 6th commandment has to do with chastity/purity of heart- not committing adultery in the heart like looking at pornography, including having premarital sex and masturbation. The good news is that one can go to Confession to restore the sanctifying grace and receive Jesus properly in the Eucharist.

EUCHARIST ON THE TONGUE IS THE NORM, IN THE HAND IS THE OPTION. IF YOU EVER GET DENIED, REPORT THE PRIEST TO YOUR BISHOP.

@@shreejeni8062 There lazy, and dont care. Whatever is easier, that is what they do. I personally dont like communion in the hand or drinking the blood out of the chalice. Why? Because I have seen hosts dropped, and the precious blood spilled. Particles are left in peoples hands. The biggest problem I have with communion in the hand is a dumbing down of the Holy Eucharist. In the hand removes all the reverence Jesus deserves. I meditate on the passion everyday when I pray the rosary. What happens is the Jesus will show you in your minds eye more and more suffering that he under went that you never thought of before. IE crushing headache from lack of water and a mild concussion from the soldiers beating him on the head. I do it as a way of connecting to Christ and for spirtual strength. It also makes me more grateful for the Holy Eucharist. Most people in church are oblivious of Christs suffering. It infuriates me.

It is sad that now in the Philippines, taking the Host by the hand is now the practice.
Back in the 90's it was introduced but, I still prefer to take by the tongue, but now, the Eucharistic minister would expect to take by the hand.
And recently, I have to keep telling the Eucharistic minister that I would take it by the tongue.
The norm should be to receive by the tongue, and by the hand is the exeption to the rule.
Come to think of it, if you really believe that the Host is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ, nothing ill or evil can be transmitted from or through It. So taking it by the tongue should have no "health or hygenic issues".
Once, when I was receiving communion, the Eucharistic minister dropped the Host, I thought, I was going to be given a new one, but he indicated that I should pick it up and eat it. And so, I did. I think that was when I realized, "Oh yeah, this is the Body of Christ". And this is accompanied by years of listening to Catholic apologetics and learning my Catholic faith.
And one time, an officemate told me that she was given 2 Hosts, and so she left the other one at the altar of the office (just where the mass is celebrated) I quickly told her to get it and consume it. And that made me realized that most Filipinos don't know the Eucharist, and how to handle it or show reverence to it. Not out of maliciousness but, we are merely "copying" our Catholic practices without understanding them.
The two way of receiving should be taught to children for their first communion highlighting that taking by the tongue should be the 1st option.
Thank you for your apostolate in educating our Catholic brothers and sisters.
    God bless!

For those who wish to receive on the tongue, go to where the priest is distributing communion even if you have to go to the other side of the church. Some Eucharistic ministers are uncomfortable with giving communion on the tongue. Priests are trained on how to place communion on the tongue. My opinion.

It should not even be labeled as "controversial" because if we believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, only the consecrated hands of the priest should touch it. Yung in the hand nga ang indult na pilit ginawang "norm". Yun ang "controversial".

If unconsecrated hands aren’t supposed to touch the host, does this mean it’s sacrilegious to receive communion on the tongue from lay ministers?

A NO priest on Christmas was breaking the Sacred Hosts on the paten to give fragments to the great crowd of communicants. The paten and surrounding floor was thick with papery flakes of the Eucharist. At my turn, he tried to break the Sacred Host by pressing It against the paten, but It bent like rubber. So he gave me an entire Host. A flake of the broken Hosts fell off the paten onto my sleeve. I gave It to my friend to bury in her yard, since I had no yard.

Sorry - Jesús did not put the bread - which became His Body in their Disciples mouths - in the early Church - they broke the Bread which was Consecrated - by hand. However there are so many abuses - as an Extraordinary Minister to the Sick and coordinating that Ministry - I have caught countless Parishioners - taking the Communion back to the pew and breaking it in half - partaking half themselves and the other half taking it home, to a Loved one, self Communication; taking the Eucharist to home overnight, using plastic PYX’s instead of Canon Law which says the PYX must be Medal to Medal; putting the PYX that contains the Eucharist in the purse, men’s pants pocket, glove compartment in their car, no Burse- all of this is Illicit abuse-so I see Fr Ripperger’s point
