We do something similar at our church. We have a bus designated as stream and provide that to the streaming AV tech. They then have the ability to make changes to that stream mix using an iPad much the same as the performers would do for their IEMs. He listens to the stream mix prefader and then adjusts based on what he hears in the stream output (TH-cam in this case). He also monitors it via solo from the board and at physical tap point in between.

Great video Drew! I have been using the band/speaking main configuration you set up here. Its one of the great features of having 4 mains on the wing. However, instead of using a bus for the live stream, I used another main for the livestream band. You can make relative adjustments on that layer as well. I then use a matrix to combine and level out the band/speaking main volume levels to the PA or livestream. My precision limiter then sits on the livestream matrix.
I could technically do all of that on the livestream main. But a benefit to splitting up the band and speakers on separate mains is that I can mute the band to the livestream and PA to do a silent soundcheck before service (Assuming the band has in-ears). At the same time, I can still have walk-in music and the speaking microphones available for service while the band is doing their thing. I love the wing.
Keep up with these great videos. I cannot wait to see how to setup the precision limiter properly!

Only problem with this is that most FOH mixes when sent straight to online it doesn't sound anything like it does in the room. So one way I got around this at our church is I made busses for Pastor, Vox, Instruments, Drums, Gtrs, and Media. Then sent those busses to a MTX. That way I can mix each bus independently into the stream feed. It solved alot of problems.

I'm sad i have to wait an ENTIRE WEEK before the precision limiter video. but i'm SO GLAD your making one for the wing. i watched your Limiter video on the X32 and it DRASTICALLY cleaned up our braodcast mix when we were running X32's. I've been struggling to get the same sound of our wing so i'll be interested in seeing your preferred limiter settings!

Hey drew, are you able to explain why a compact behringer x32 won't connect to an iPad anymore, recently I am not able to connect An Ipad to the behringer x32

Hey man, just tapping back into your videos, been of TH-cam for a while; thanks for these tips, very helpful tips that I can apply. I wanted to ask, what is the model over ear mic you're using and also what lavalier model is equivalent (sounds great, little to not feedback). Looking for a solution for our pastor and also functions with a presenter. Thanks in advance!

I found the DPA 4488 CORE Directional Headset Microphone for Shure Wireless to be perfect for me and you can look into it.

There is another solution, with autogain:
I use a Matrix, which contains all channels except the speaker. For the worship group, I also have the level set to -10dB, which is sent to the matrix.
The speaker to the matrix is connected via the DIRECT input and the level of this microphone is raised by +10dB on the DIRECT input. At the output of the Matrix, AUTO RIDER is installed, where automatic gain is added in the range from -45dB to -12dB, with a gain “width” of +13dB, a response time for changes in the volume level of 4.5s, so that when the speaker speaks, the autogain raises the output signal level to - 12dB, and at loud sounds or when a band was playing, the autogain automatically lowered the volume until a level of -12dB was reached and kept it in this range.

@@j-cglaucus7371 I finally recorded a video on how to add two separate channels on the Matrix bus and increase their volume so that they are louder than the entire group. I hope it will be clear from the short video :) th-cam.com/video/wx_J26QAGwc/w-d-xo.html

If we were running music over 85dB,we would have people walking out.

Or… you can buy another WING using the same stages and a totally diferent MIX to FOH ( Because it is demands it for so manyreasons…) who agree to me or not?
