    Wow very extensive and well explained. I usually have a hard time following most tutorials because they assume you understand everything so they lose me.

    Over what cable or line are you sending your Main Stream Mix to? Is it Dante? XLR? I think its pretty awesome that you have changes that are being made on the fly FOH for Mics or mutes etc that automatically effect the live stream.

    Pitch fix works great. It is NOT autotune. It works on an entirely different premise. If you treat it as it's own thing versus as an autotune replacement it would likely yield tou better results. It takes a good singer and makes them better. If your singer is way off it will do you no good.

    can yyou buy waves plugins and put them on a usb and add them to the wing, or even auto tune

    Would suggest adding room mics positioned at FOH as well to blend with your crowds for a even better room sound for your streams. MXU has a great video about them!

      I second this! ^ Once we added house/room mics at FOH, our stream mix improved drastically.

    Do you mix IEMs from same console? Or you have separate mix for IEMs. Regarding tot the pitch correction using on channel strip.

    If you move your iem busses to be in the first 8 busses, you could send other busses to them (e.g. vocal verb to a vocalist's iem mix)

    This tutorial is gold. I’m mixing our services and livestream on a WING and the room acoustics are difficult to treat so we’ve been trying to come up with creative ways to get the mix in a good place and translate that to the livestream. I was looking for a breakdown just like this for signal flow and leveling inspiration and I’ve got so many ideas now - thanks man!

  • @NeonShores
    @NeonShores ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So you don't even worry about mixing separately for the livestream beyond the speaker and crowd mics? That would actually make things so much easier and less stressful. We're a small team and we are fully mixing our stream separately. Need to stop that now lol

    • @feugo22
      @feugo22 ปีที่แล้ว

      That needs 2 mixing consoles right?

    • @NeonShores
      @NeonShores ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@feugo22 no just one console. You create a separate mix solely for Livestream and you can mix that independently from the main FOH mix.

    Thanks for this tutorial 🙂! imho this is a rather complex setup , especially if you have less experienced foh volunteers😅. I ended up with a similar setup by letting a very experienced studio audio engineer setting up our board. Way too much compression, complex bus setups etc. My background is many years of live mixing with analog boards, started to use the X32 9 years ago, now started to use the Wing. My approach is....setup your board as if you would have an analog board with limited resources, then start applying subtle processing but don't take it to the "studio level". Mixing live imho is completely different to mixing and mastering a track.
    With this in mind I've setup our board up as follows.
    - Do all processing on the channel itself, no additional bus tricks (I rather fix stuff at the source channel).
    - Use the 1st 8 busses to group stuff if needed to be able to send it over to the P16's (e.g. drums,, fx's).
    - Use DCA's to level a group of channels.
    - Send the channels and busses to one of the mains as live stream out. (With Sends on Fader, decrease / increase the amount of signal per channel, it will keep this delta compared to the main mix. Add compression on this live stream master).
    Open for advise/feedback from anyone 🙂

    A quick question, how are you getting the individual channels from a electric drum? We are using Roland VAD series drum and we get all the channels in a stereo mode not individually. Just wondering how you managed to get it separately.

    • @andrewpotter927
      @andrewpotter927 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your drum module. Cheaper modules generally only give you a stereo out, higher end models give you individual outs. If you have individual outs available the one thing you need to check in the manual is wether or not they are balanced outputs or not. If they aren’t then you will need a DI for them, if they are balanced you just need TRS to XLR cables.
