This feels full circle, the first time I found your channel was around the time you were constantly recommending Poison Study! Feels like a lifetime ago.
I needed a reading break while in grad school (academic reading can suck the fun out of it) and I’m so glad I came back to your channel because I’m back into it with great recs! Thank you!
Always love your videos ❤ Watch every Saturday with my husband. Definitely want to try Poison Study, giving more romantasy a chance. I am turned off by the angst in them most of the time but finding good ones too.
I love that your coffee pot is used as an editing tool between time periods! We know the update is coming😂 Also, The Study series is one of my OG favorite romantasy series. It is so dang fun to read.
Hey Reagan! Just wanted to say I'm new here and loving your channel and your varied taste in books it feels like a channel I can call a second home! Keep up the great blogs and see you next time. 🤗
I loved this video. I know this sounds insane but my jaw dropped when I realized free will dictates you could literally just put jelly/jam in yogurt. Why have I never done this.
As a life long New Englander who experiences intense cold a lot, you want layers. Lots of layers. Thinner closer to your skin, bulkier as you go out. For me, socks are the most crucial thing! The athletic socks i love 3/4 of the year are often just not warm enough. Get yourself a few pair of good boot socks and your favorite slippers and youre good to go ❤
OMG those biscuits are so freaking good. We go to that place often just to get the biscuit. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito as well next time you go! It's ranked as one of the best burritos in the city apparently and my husband swears by them. 👏
I also read Poison Study back in the day, and remember it sending me on a bit of a Maria V. Snyder binge - however, I think by the time I got to the third Chronicles of Ixia trilogy my interest was waning, and I'm not sure I ever finished it (which is supported by the fact I only have the first book of that trilogy on my Kindle). Hearing you talk about it is making want to give Poison Study a re-read though!
Hey man, not everyone wants the graphic spice (🙋🏼♀️) and it’s super hard to find that outside of YA. Now that I say that, not sure if PS is YA or not. Either way that makes me happy to hear that and that you still love it. Makes me want to finally pick it up! 😄
Are Joe Abercrombie’s books good to start with if you’ve never read a grimdark book before? Because they sound so good. Also how much bad language do they have in them as well?
Where do you recommend starting with Joe Abercrombie? Would love to start one of his books but don't know where (is there a wrong answer??). Thank you!
Highly recommend you check out The Ancient Future trilogy by Traci Harding. It's an older book, which is written by an Australian Fantasy writer. It literally changed the way I thought about the world. If you like Juliet Marillier, I think you'll like it. It's not Romantasy, it's more of an epic fantasy. There are four trilogies that exist in the same universe if you like the first three - they kind of carry on one after the other.
I really enjoy the original trilogy in the study series (the second trilogy was okay), but the glass series was a total letdown for me. Interested to hear your thoughts when you get to those!
reagan I love you but please please find another copyright free song to use, the one at 12:25 is actually driving me insane with how often it's on your socials
I don't think Poison Study is romantasy at all, not even romance centered fantasy... It does have a romantic sub plot, but that's it. Is it just me? 🫤 I loved the series though 🤍

The evolution of Romantasy covers is wild
I read Poison Study back in early 2010s and I absolutely loved the series!! I never see anyone talk about it so I love that you’re re-reading them 🥰

I really think you'd love Curious Tides, it's so good. Centered around moon magic, strange death mystery, and so much more!

I recommend you give that a watch if you haven’t already!

Love your vlogs so much!! Have you ever read any David Weber? I'm just starting Off Armageddon Reef and am liking it so far. SciFi
I’m a simple girl; I hear a book being compared to Graceling and I add it to the tbr 👀

I personally enjoy queer romantasy. Maybe you will have some luck there, too!
