    Interesting to see how this performs against the stock controller inc possible higher rpms. Any updates yet?

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you mean vs the stock bafang it is much more RPMs. It peaks at 12000 under load with 72 volts. Stock is maybe 7000. As far as programming goes I have not made much progress. I am learning little by little but I am nowhere near the point where I would be ready to show anything. It has brought me a real appreciation of Alan at ERT as he is able to extract a very high level of performance from these controllers.

      @@HighVoltageKits leaning more towards the CYC. Wondering if you have upgraded the original stock controller with the ASI bac 800 yet. Which as you said will be a factory shipped upgrade option.
      Think I'm right in saying this is required for 72v anyway? Or looking another way is the CYC stock controller better than the Bafang stock unit at 50v ?
      Thanks

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The gen 2 motors ship with a 36 to 72 volt controller now so you are good to go. If you wanted to go the ASI route then the bac2000 is a better option than the 800. The 800 it turns out is a bit underpowered for the x1. I hope to start my build with that soon.

    So Happy found you. I am planning to upgrade my MATE X 750 W CZJB JB-104C2 Jaibo motor to BBSHD with either ASI BAC 800 or Phase runner. But now that I saw your heart is on the CYC X1 pro. I am starting to think it would be a better investment than BAFANG. Would you please explain what motivated you to look CYC X1 pro. Ca you advise if upgrading to CYC for me on my fa bike is overkill ? "I will be upgrading my battery pack from 48V 17.5 AH to 52V

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are both good motor. I love riding my bbshd with the ASI. The cyc is a work in progress still. It has lots of potential though. I will likely be using it with ASI controllers going forward though as I prefer the feeling you get with riding on an ASI. It's more powerful and also with the new updates it will be torque sending which is much better than PAS. But the bbshd is a very reliable motor. You can get an ASI and wiring harness from ERT for the X1 the same as with the bbshd. The only difference is you can order a motor on it's own from cyc and the bbshd comes with one. I guess you could sell in on ebay though. Glad you like the videos. Cheers!

    Hello. I too have the ERT kit from Alan for my BBSHD. I love it! Will the backdoor app work with his controller? I noticed the model numbers are different from the one you get with the ERT kit as opposed to the one you have shown here that comes with the evaluation kit. The one from ERT doesn't have "BT" in the model number which I assume isn't Bluetooth compatible?

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly have no idea. I am able to access both my controllers via the app. It may well be that newer controllers are locked in some way now though. They can also be programmed via desktop software but I have not tried that. My pc is pretty old and refuses to play nicely with its ports.

    • @gwilkins712
      @gwilkins712 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Captain Codswallop Thanks for the reply! I will contact Alan to see what he says. I keep getting a 21H error which he says is for speed sensor but not matter what I do to fix it the error keeps popping up. Hoping the Backdoor program can shed some light on this error. Cheers.

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Two things to check. Are you getting a speed reading on your display? If not I'd check the position of the sensor. If the magnet is not close enough it wont read it. If you are still getting the error and a speed reading it must be something else.

    • @gwilkins712
      @gwilkins712 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Captain Codswallop Still getting a reading. I’ve never lost my speed reading. It only errors under load when the back tire breaks traction. Esp going up an loose hill. I have tried everything imaginable to remedy the issue with no avail. New sensors, new cable, moved sensor to front wheel, etc. Weird thing is I can unplug the speed sensor and won’t get an error (except for under load breaking traction). I can ride all day with the speed sensor unplugged and no error but as soon as I break traction under a load I get 21H and the controller stops working (red light stays on controller though). I have to cycle power on the display to clear the error. Been talking with Alan but he keeps saying speed sensor. I dunno at this point. It sounds to me like some kind of hall sensor speed feedback issue maybe but the BBSHD brand new. Thanks for your help though!

      The access to the bacdoor app is only via the evaluation kit. However if you use an eggrider v2 their latest app update gives you a good degree of bluetooth control over the bac800. It let's you set two profiles road and offroad with control of power, assist levels etc. Which is what most people really want. I'll be doing a video on it fairly soon.
