  • An overview of the sights and sounds of historic Kaysersberg, Alsace Lorraine, France voted France's preferred village in 2017.
    Alsace Lorraine is a beautiful region of France with lots of quaint medieval villages. The village of Kaysersberg is one of the most beautiful villages in France. It was actually selected as such by French people in a TV show. It has cobble stone streets and timbered houses. It looks like the village is straight out of a fairy tale. If you want to visit Kaysersberg, you should. If you are not sure what to see in Kaysersberg and what to do in Kaysersberg, things to see in Kaysersberg and things to do in Kaysersberg, this video was made for you. We don't go as far as showing where to stay in Kaysersberg and where to eat in Kaysersberg, but there are plenty of great restaurants in Kaysersberg to choose from.
    There is also a very famous hotel in Kaysersberg called Le Chambard. This is the hotel where Anthony Bourdain died in 2018. It also has a great restaurant that you should try.
    Enjoy!

      We don't know if you checked our video about Riquewihr, just a couple of km from Kaysersberg. Riquewihr is another beautiful village, but Kaysersberg is our favorite.

      They're called the white stork. They're the symbol of Alsace. Alsace is the only region of France where you can find them, but only in the summer. They migrate to Africa in the winter. Their wingspan can be as large as 7 feet. They're huge! And really majestic.

    It isn't German influence, it is part of their own past. The region was intertwined with the other German regions of the Rhineland and they all simply had a similar building style.

      Yes, Alsace has great white wine, although we would argue most regions in France have great wine and great food :)

    Beautiful place. Should have made it car free. These cars are such a eyesore

    • @JamesandLaurent
      @JamesandLaurent  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is actually mostly car free because the streets are so narrow. Only locals are allowed to drive their car to their house. Tourists have to park in parking lots outside of town and walk to town. We didn't find car presence to be overwhelming.

    This place looks really really german

    • @JamesandLaurent
      @JamesandLaurent  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does. Alsace has been going back and forth between France and Germany over the centuries and it has a strong German influence. The name of the town means Emperor's mountain in German.
