    We recently surpassed 1000 subscribers and we couldn't be more motivated to bring you future content! A big THANK YOU to all of our subscribers for all of your continued support to our channel. We are very grateful! What started out as entertainment for the boys has turned into something that we all have come to really enjoy doing together! Now we just want to share what our neck of the woods has to offer with the rest of the rockhounding world! What better way to celebrate 1000 than to release a video of us rockhounding at our favorite beach to find agates, a world class agate finding location....Scots Bay Beach. This is a two part video so stay tuned for the second day of rockhounding this amazing beach in a couple of weeks! Thanks again everyone and have a great week and weekend living that rockhounding life!!!

    The only agates and other beautiful specimens I have access to are in Crystals shops. Where the "mystical properties" are more important then the locality and formation of the rock. We I buy them they come with a little card saying that it promotes creativity, confidence, willpower and on and on. Cleanse it with, put it in the moonlight, sleep with it under your pillows. I just nod and say thank you. They're just pretty rocks to me.
    I'm so jealous that my part of lake Ontario doesn't have any agates.

      Thanks Donald. A good tip I can give you for Scots bay beach is to go a couple hours after high tide as the tide is going out. The rocks are wet and easier to spot the color. Rocks are just as good at the high water mark as they are towards low tide.

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks!
      Our agate nodules tend to be on the medium to small size here in Nova Scotia. But there are soooo many and the variety is countless. Great tumbling material. Our seam agates however are HUGE! Nova Scotia is very famous for its seam agates. Golden Flame Seam Agate, Red Flame Seam Agate, Cherry Plume Seam Agate. We have a few videos which feature them. We also have petrified wood but it looks a lot different than the stuff in Montana. Our pet wood is heavily silicated and agatized. We also have a few videos featuring those as well!

      On this particular beach most of the agate nodules are not fractured when we cut them. The reason being that the source is not that far from this beach. There are other spots along the Bay of Fundy where the rocks need to travel a bit farther to get there and you can see the fracturing.
