Wow. This episode has really got me excited. Based on what you shown me, I could do this. I've had an interest in yarn dyeing for quite some time and didn't know where to start. What does mordant mean ? Thank you so so much
I think you'll find it quite rewarding, Susan. As long as you have a week long stretch of 80 degrees farenheit temps or higher with lots of sun, it will work out great!
I love experimenting with color. I have a video series coming up and one part of it is natural dying, my best color this time was from Osage Orange. I have also tried the mint before with no luck. Have you tried ice plant? I love the color from that.
Oooo, I love hearing about other folk's dyeing experiences!! I need to try this ice plant you speak of. I'm not familiar with that plant or where it is grown. Can you share a little more? I'm intrigued!!. Thank you so much Tina for your comment!💕
@TheAutumnAcornKnits I am in CA and it grows everywhere here, it is in the succulent family. It is a ground cover with long French fry shaped leaves that come to a point and big flowers usually purple or pale yellow. It is usually green but near the coast gets a bit of red color near the tips but it usually dyes a dusty pink color.
Fantastic video 😊.....Loved❤ it ..... xx
