    5 years and you still helped ppl like me. I'm new to cosplaying and have a cheap wig, I was planning to buy a quite expensive one since my wig is tangled up. Saw this and it worked, thanks a lot!

    At first I thought I had done the wrong way to comb the wig because it looked SUPER ugly when wet, but after it dried it looked much better and super beautiful, I loved the tutorial

    Tigi after party is really good if you need a lot of silky movement. I’ve been using it on my actual hair for like nearly 20 years

    Could I use:
    -spray oil
    -hairbrush
    Because it’s the only thing I’m allowed to use.

      All Ik is dont use a normal brush
      Maybe try a wide comb

    This is some really good advice because I also have a Miku wig that is tangled so I’m going to dip in hot water and spray wig conditioner on it.

      Aw good luck!! I LOVE fixing wigs and I never have to replace my wigs thanks to boiling! It's so simple but it's not very intuitive!

      It’s not a great idea but you can use plastic brushes. In my experiences they just make the frizz worse unfortunately :(

    Thank you ur saving my life cause it's my first ever wig and I got it from my best friend and it's rly pretty but the head looks kind of weird like a little monster and it's ALSO a Miku wig so I'm gonna try it today and I'll write in an edit how it turned out! 😊

    yes omg tysm i have a miku wig myself and im supposed to wear it to a dance in a few weeks and it is so frizzy and tangled… and ya so imma try this thx:D

      I'm actually doing an update of this video ASAP! How funny c: Heat protectant is not necessary, I've literally never used it. Some wigs don't hold up to heat but I've never run into issues and I've done it to ever cheap wig I've bought on Amazon!

    Extremely late here! Sooo I have to ask, would this fix a super frizzy pigtail? I wanna do a bunch of different miku cosplays, and I have the wig, but one pigtail is all frizzy 😬

      Do not use fabric softener in synthetic hair! Very bad for it

    I know I'm probably super super late to this video but i absolutely NEED to k ow asap but since i don't have a wire wig brush or comb..........can i use a regular comb?

      @xCanadensis thanks, but all things considered my cosplay wig is about 2 years old bought from a local Walmart around Halloween and so far the wig isn't in horrible rats nest tangled shape but on the ends slightly

      And it's only tangled around the ends of the hair. And since it's been dead and I was asking if a comb would work. Cause I don't have everything that you listed in the video. So for the ends is a comb OK?

    Super late but would a dog detangler spray work too? Instead of horse detangler? And would it work if i put it in a steaming hot bath tub instead of a boiling pot? Thank you, i have con in two days so i cant order stuff 🫣

      Boiling water is the only thing that will make a big difference but you can use any kind of detangler!

    I might be *very* late, but my pigtails keep slipping. They're clips. Ik Halloween is coming up so maybe people will come for this vid for advice for their costumes or cosplay! But HOW DO I GET THEM TO STOP SLIPPING-

      When you clip them to the wig, go through the wig net and clip them to your actual hair ( i do flattened side buns underneath the wig)

      Yep! If you heat crimped you can use a straightener if you’re careful (fast and get it wet first- LOW setting)

      Hmm.. some people swear by fabric softener but I don’t think it does much at all. If a wig needs washed I just take it in the shower with me and shampoo it in there (and rinse A TON!!)
      The boiling water interacts with the plastic to make it soft again and you can condition if you want it extra silky 😁

      The water needs to be boiling for the magic to work but that wouldn't hurt your wig by any means

      I have several. I usually use my American Girl doll brushes because I’m lazy. If you’re in a hurry and can’t order online- I highly recommend running by Target and looking in the doll section. They have metal brushes in the bootleg American girl doll section!
      I currently use a different brush that BODIES the ones in this video and it’s his one:

      It depends :( unfortunately you have to try it to find out. I’ve used it on many Amazon wigs (such as the one in this video) and I’ve never had one get damaged. Just never touch the hair to the metal pot. If you want to be extra cautious you can cut off a piece and put it in first to see if it melts at all!

      Depends on the wig. Boiling works well in my experience but if your wig seems heat sensitive, then don’t try to use the water right before boil

      Any hair spray will keep them nice but they won't flow like normal hair without Mane n Tail or a similar product. I do use hair spray as well if I'm not doing something where I want the hair to move

      Plastic bristles (that many combs and hairbrushes have) will cause friction and pull on the fibers in the wig. This is what makes wigs have "fried" ends and makes them more easily frizz. You can do it, especially if the wig is not knotted but I don't recommend it

      Normal conditioner works too!! It's not preferred because it can feel a lil greasy but if you brush conditioner through after you boil the wig, it has the same effect :)
