We do our best to avoid the Windjammer and once we found the Solarium Bistro a few years ago, we go there for breakfast most days, breaking it up with the Main dining room.

Thanks for sharing. We are planning our 2025 Med cruise. We were previously going with NCL but my cous who just got back told me NCL how disappointed she was as it was an older ship. Apparently all the ships NCL is using in the Meds are 2008-2013 (even though some were refurb in 2018-2020).
Totally agree with the elevator thing. My brother accidently came to close and we stopped at just about every floor. Happens when the elevator is crowded.

i think the hardest part for my family will either be sleeping at night or the food. sleeping at night mainly because we have never gone on a trip like this so it might be weird sleeping on the ocean. and the food because there are 8 of us, me and my brothers are really picky, my younger brother will try new things as long as they don't look "gross" and my other brother just refuses to eat new things. my sisters eat things bc they're not picky, my grandma and mom will also eat anything, and my dad hate and when i say hates i mean HATES vegetables.
I loved everything. But wasn’t fussed on the dining room food waiter and waitress was brilliant room perfect all facilities on board was brilliant. I was fascinated by the robot bar persons lol, they good do with one of the pools being warmed up a little bit, but looking to do it again

We'll be seeing you in 16 days on the inaugural cruise of Wonder of the Seas. I have to agree with you I love the Quantum class ships. We sailed on the inaugaual cruise of Quantum of the Seas from Southampton London to Bayonne New Jersey. By far one of, if not the best class of ships for Royal Caribbean. And extra room is right. I especially loved the extra space above the couch. I've never seen that on a cruise ship before. I am so happy and blessed to have seen a lot of the first time innovations that came out on Quantum of the Seas make its way on all of Royal Caribbean's ships. Like the 270, +aka the Living Room), the Bionic Bar, Wonderland, (which is a must specialty dining experience that we will do on every RoyalCaribbean ship if they have it) and so much more. The Quantum class started a lot for Royal Caribbean for years to come. And that was back in 2014 almost 10 years ago. ❤️❤️❤️😀😀 Can't wait to see what the Iconic of the Seas has to offer
Hi just subscribed. Me and my partner are considering an ocean view balcony for next June. It is also on deck 13 under the solarium. My concern is the noise above especially if we wanted an afternoon nap. Be great to get your thoughts.
If waiting for an elevator is frustrating never go to the NY Marriott marquis in times Square...around dinner time it can take over 45 minutes to get an elevator!

Having a cabin on deck 13, did were you impacted by noise from above at all? I have a 13th floor cabin coming up on Odyssey and am worried about chair noise. Thanks!
No impact from Noise, I failed to mention in my notes though that you’ll want to be a few cabins down away from the Solarium door since it slams shut pretty loudly when sailing at night.

I agree with you 100%, fantastic ship, food, shows and as always, Royal crew service. We did get spoiled as there were only like 1630 passengers aboard. We're sailing onnthe Allure in October, have you been on that ship? If so, any inside information you'd care to share would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there , I’m going on the Odyssey this September 23 ,question i have is on the shore excursion days, does it matter if i book a tour not through Royal Caribbean is it an effort to get off the boat on time to get to my destination. Ive been told there are time allotments to disembark and people are missing out on there private tours !! I hope this makes sense.
It doesn’t matter just make sure the tour starts after you dock / cleared from port authorities (that time is listed in the app) and make sure you return before the ship leaves (also listed in the Royal app) - Have fun!
No Miriam, let me clarify. The original cast performing the Effectors is leaving the Odyssey. You’ll still get to experience an amazing show, just not with the original cast. Sorry for the confusion!
Griff, I agree with you about the Solarium Grill being the most underrated free eatery on the ship. I kept going to the Solarium Grill on last cruise the Allure because it was same staff that worked at the Samba Grill (Brazilian steakhouse). Breakfast and lunch make it the best free option on the ship.
No joke… I ordered it on the first two nights, and once again last night. Time to figure that recipe out at home. Can’t be “that” difficult. (Famous last words.)
It was pretty easy, not a lot of reservation requirements except for Solairum Bistro and spa appointments. We reserved a show, but it looked like people were just walking in at one point tbh

I have only started watching U 2 recently but with U off the ship so quickly what I really want to know is do you live in Florida because I never hear of U having to catch a flight to another state after U de[part your cruise. With the ceiling fan in the background and U always in T-shirts I am guessing you live in Florida.......Also even though this has nothing to do with the a cruise U should do a tour around your apartment coz I love the rustic, easy living style U have going on there.
Great Idea Karen, we'll have to give a tour of our place on our Behind the Scenes channel. To answer your question we live in Clearwater, Florida. 3.5 hours from Ft. Lauderdale, 4 Hours from Miami, 1.5 Hours from Port Canaveral and 25 minutes from Port of Tampa! I like t-shirts and flip flops and cold weather makes Alyssa's knee hurt.
OMG YES the touchless buttons were GREAT except for the accidental pressing! I can't even begin to imagine how they backfired when the ship was at full capacity cuz, like you, we were on when it was low capacity and people's arms were setting off full rows of buttons. To imagine a packed elevator and the buttons just going insane.. O.O Also...cool thing the Allure elevators did that I *think* Odyssey didn't do: once we got in on a low floor and someone who got off before the elevator came had pressed every single button. As we all loaded on, we adults all grumbled at how we were going to hit every floor. But after 3 or so floors where we pressed the 'close door' button immediately on opening, the pressed buttons all reset and we were able to re-select only the floors we needed. THIS was really great and Odyssey should implement this if they didn't already because it would be great at dealing with the arm-activated button presses.
The steak in MDR was thin and small and tough. Worst steak in my life. I wouldnt even call it a steak. They want you to go to the specialty restaurants to get proper good dining and pay extra. You are better off going to the buffet where the food choice was superior and you can find what you like and eat as much as you like.
RCL new ships that are Great but their new Diner menu Stinks. We are Long term cruisers on RCL & have been on all the ship classes but the new Diner menu is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Fried chicken dish that would be better from Popeyes, 1 small piece of over fried cheap white fish thats so hard it must be cut with a Steak knife. Charging passengers $ 18. for a second piece of Miniature Lobster tail which costs basically $ 4.00 at the grocery store ?? Flank steak 1/4 inch being passed off as NY strip loin, what a Joke. I think RCL has to Fire the guy that thought of this DISASTER & Executives should never give up control of the company to Chartered Accountants which will Bankrupt the Company as people will turn to other Vacation options. I am embarrassed to have invited friends & Family to join us on upcoming Cruises of RCL !

in my last RCL cruise in November you had to make a reservation for everything you did except the casino. How was this on a larger ship
