Thanks for the tour, I live in Delaware and have always dreamed of going to the RTR . So your tour at least gives me a sample of what is there. In the mean time I live in a home, have grand kids and camp locally. My wife and I camp a little every month during warm weather. We usually camp in state parks and invite friends and family to come out and camp. We are usually the center for cooking. Thanks again, Patrick

The Dodge was cool and I like the one's that people build themselves. I don't care about the ones that people had other people do the work. The Dodge was probably over weight because wood is heavy. I rebuild every rv , van I get. Working on a 1976 Dodge now.i like to find and recycle aluminum because it is lighter and stronger than wood.i like to get the aluminum sheet siding off old camper's . Like the tunes you choose for the video these are also great ideas you captured from people who really knew what they wanted ,this way of life is over priced to settle for anything else or someone else's example company's only concerned you to love their ideas

The tiny self built vehicle is what I am working on at my brothers home here in Central Florida .. while I live in my transformed arrow dynamic rebuild what was a RV motor home ...& now is a amazing arrow dynamic one ton with dual tires in the rear .. it has no longer a upper over cab monstrosity thank goodness & it has a wonderful covered roof rear porch with door & screen door .. the living space is still fantastic ... Due to the gasoline prices going so high I selected the option for building my own tiny gas miser tiny miniature size 4X4 motor home on wheels .. it's being built supper light weight on a Suzuki Samurai platform ... when it's done it will resemble a 1940's flat fender with bullet head lights mounted on it's flat fenders just like the military dodge power wagon military ambulance ! It's also painted drab olive green & I am hoping to paint the white box with the red cross on the side as well ! Above the windshield near the the roof top where the military painted ambulance I will paint , " almost ambulance " instead lol ! it's going to have so many features .. way to many to mention here ! No pictures or build videos will be offered .. Due to it's being built for my own pleasure by me ... & not offered for sale at any price ! To each their own & this is my own creation for my own pleasure while I live !
I really enjoyed this video! I have been watching Nomads for about 3-4 years now, and when I first started watching the Nomads the big event was the RTR, then it kind of disappeared from peoples videos after it was moved out of the desert. I really missed seeing what everyone does and how they do it. I didn't know so many people still attend. Just as you, I like seeing what people do to make life easier living in their chosen vehicle. It was something I hoped to do someday. I also enjoyed the van build with people helping others. It is sad that ended too. One question please, do you have to pay to attend the RTR? Bob Wells seems to have helped so many people adjust to a new way of living. He is a great guy for sure. Thanks you so much for sharing...
I can see that the old RTR has grown from a gathering of a dozen or so members to a side show of hundreds,,,,,, Reminds me of an old song I used to day dream on, "Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing,,,,,,,,"
I need to bring my school bus out there someday, I have been traveling for most of 50 years now. I live in the Southern Bahamas for the winter and Northern Idaho for the Summers. I am a retired pilot. Was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. USMC WO2 1967-1972.
Aerodynamics be damned, 4:32, the home made thing is pretty cool. Heavy as heck also, just saying. I built a 32" tiny house in 1975 on a gooseneck flatbed, all cedar shingle sided, framed like a house. Nice cabin, lousy RV though, too heavy. I ended up buying property, setting it on a cinderblock foundation and selling the trailer for the property downpayment. Lived in it until I built my shop 2 years later, then partially dismantled it, using the materials, kitchen, and bath stuff for a temp apartment inside my shop. Then I built my house, all without taking out a mortgage. 28 years later I sold it all for big bucks!
So curious who the 1st rig belongs to. I wondered if he had featured a van at previous rtr? It was almost completely made by the owner with his grandma’s chest for a bed
Who else felt their own story and truth when Venessa said, “I just take it one day at a time.” ?
