I just got out of the theater whatching aquaman 2. When do you think the movie takes place ? Still before the flash or after ? His kid is not that old in the movie and the brine king said it took a year for his arm to come back after oriehm cut it off but it didn't say how long it had been since then. Also just wondering how you think the flash movie will play into the upcoming new dcu stuff? Is flash going to still be Ezra miller?
Personally, I believe Mamoa as Aquaman was a great twist to the character. Mamoa was refreshing and not a rehash. Sad DC just never figured it out because Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Mamoa were good picks. I still don’t understand how DC’s animation is great but live action is just there.

@@ralphspradley7988 He's just a symptom. The problem is the film side doesn't really understand or care about the characters. The Suits hire auteur or spectacle directors and A list actors, then get nervous as the budget spirals out of control and start interfering. Most of the writers don't read comics, except for a few they had to in college, so they don't have a clear understanding if the characters outside of a dozen or so graphic novels that are often atypical.
Finally they abandon the pre-existing fans for markets that just don't exist. It's like they forgot happy comic fans *come back with normie friends*
Biggest fault of theirs is basing their entire universe on the vision of Zack Snyder

I really liked how Dr. Stephen Shin seemingly following Manta Ray in the beginning, to turning around and following Aqua Man and his comrades towards the end. For me, the movie did leave me wondering what was to become of Manta Ray after Aqua Man offered to help pull him up from the crevice and Manta Ray refused; of course, this is a moot issue if there isn’t going to be any more Aqua Man Movies. But wait, Meera and Aqua Man have a child, and if that ages like normal children, then the problem is solved and as I recall in the comics, something like that did occur.

I wasn't angry about how the ending was done, I'm disappointed that it was the end of these versions of Aquaman. I've enjoyed Jason's version of the character way more than I ever enjoyed Ezra Miller's Flash. I'm disappointed that we won't get that 3rd movie now that Orm and Arthur are getting along.
I saw Aquaman 2 and I liked it. Similar to the first movie but a ton more cgi which I love. I was entertained and escaped reality for a couple hours....mission accomplished :)
I liked it too, but it seems it's getting a rotten tomato because critics are saying it didn't feel like a DC movie, just like it's own stand alone thing. But I wasn't mad at it, I was entertained.

I saw it today. It's actually a really good movie. Black Manta actor was menacing as hell and Jason Mamoa was funny, especially when he called Orm Loki.
I liked it too, but apparently a lot of critics hated the corny stuff, probably like the cockroach scenes. But I found the action good even if the dialogue wasn't the best, I would see it again.
It was good in its own way. But it lacked a flow or connection from the first Aquaman.
First one, he was more serious, more attention to his powers and stuff like that,, not to mention, he was shirtless in many scenes. (That obviously helped the box office numbers)
-Aquaman 2 , went directly to him acting like a goofy frat boy surfer dude..
I’m ok with lightening up his character a little and throwing some jokes , but it was like night and day from pt 1 to pt 2.
(Not to mention, he wasn’t shirtless once which was a big mistake)

@@santan546 I don’t know if it was because of the reshoots or something else, but based on his appearance in some shots, I don’t think he was packing the 6 pack abs he had in the first movie, thus the no shirtless scenes.
His two battle costumes, the regular yellow and green plus the blue appeared to have CG abs or were painted on.
Honestly even Amber Heard looked like she’d gained weight as well in what few scenes we saw her in, so yea maybe the reshoots

Wish they would’ve had Superman, WW and Batman with aquaman at his press conference at the end supporting him. Would’ve been a cool send off for the DCEU.
Great idea actually , i can understand why the others wouldn’t want to come back just to be sent home.
My son and I said the same thing. He’s in the Justice League so some of them should have shown up. Also, there should be footage of Aquaman’s existence so the world should know who he is. He fought Superman in Metropolis at Superman’s statue.
So my ending for the DCEU was that after Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom we would’ve gotten a live action Justice League Apokolips War movie, and at the end, Barry runs to restart the universe, and doesn’t have enough speed, so the rest of the League comes with him and gives him a boost. While doing that the ripples of time from Barry running through to restart the universe pushes through them all and you see them become the previous actors who have played them, the League doesn’t notice it but us as the audience does. The movie ends with them recreating a big bang it becomes a white light, and you hear Superman say “I love you Lois” and then it pans out to space and the Earth 🌏 explodes, and then the rest of the universe. The credits roll, and post credit scene is suddenly the movie pauses, pans out to 3 figures watching this happen on a small 24 inch tv 📺 and it’s Constantine, Phantom Stranger, The Question, and The Spectre all there. Constantine says “What the Fuck was that?” Phantom Stranger responds “ That is your universe, it is over and has been restarted John”
Constantine “Just like that, neither of you could’ve intervened, How about The Monitor or Lucifer??” The Question responds “John it’s over, there is no going back, the only thing we can do now is prepare for the new universe” Constantine says “New Universe?”
The Spectre responds “A new universe with a new group of heroes and they will need you both” Constantine looks confused and Phantom Stranger snaps his fingers and the screen goes black

TBH, I think the ending scene mirrors the ending of the first Black Panther as much as it does the first Iron Man. Both movies have the hero tell the world about the existence of the prospective homelands and both offer to share their technological advances with the world.

I just saw the movie today and I enjoyed it very much. I'm glad they didn't kill Arthur Jr. There were a few minor points (special effects on three scenes needed tweaking and not enough use of certain female characters) but nothing to dramatically complain about. Having Arthur and Orm working together was great and should be continued. I'll give it 4/5 stars. There is a scene where Aquaman is chilling while riding a motorcycle and I could easily see Jason Mamoa playing Lobo.

Now I really want to see it. I lost a child to suicide and, in the comics, Black Manta killed Aquaman's baby. I didn't want to see that in the movie because of the obvious trigger, but you telling me that his baby lives makes me want to see it. Thank you.

I see a correlation between Aquaman and Black Panther. The nation being hidden to the world and then at the end, reveal it to the world.
Yes Aquaman 1 and Black Panther 1 had very similar premises. Arthur fought Orm for the crown, while T'Challa fought Kilmonger for the crown
But unlike Blackpanther, Orm lived to team up with Aquaman in the 2nd movie. Can you imagine if Killmonger survived?

I’m surprised they had a post credit scene or that they even teased a sequel when it won’t actually happen.
I discuss the alternate ending and some of the deleted scenes from the other post credit scenes they were originally going to use.
It wasn't post credits, it was mid-credits and just picked up where the scene where Orm left off at the end of the movie
My only issue was, at the end where Arthur kills Cordax with Atlan's trident, it makes you wonder why Atlan didn't do that in the past and instead opted to only imprison them. Is it because it was his brother an he couldn't do it? Someone else could have made that decision for him, Cordax was clearly too dangerous.
Also the whole posessed Ornn trying to get arthur's blood didn't make any sense as he also has royal blood, so why didn't he cut himself?
@@cdjwmusicorm was possessed but cordax cant do shit cause he only a reflection of mirror, although there are some parts "orm" said he got a strong atlantean body and that might be cordax. perhaps he also wants to be freed by a king's blood? not by some failed dethroned king? who knows

NO. 3:43 He revealed Atlantis to the world, the way T'challa revealed the power of Wakanda to the U.N. He said, "I am Aquaman", the way Stark said his famous line.
Here's the thing. Mamoa is a great action star. But like Schwarzeneggar or Stallone, he works best as a badass. Stargate Atlantis was a great example of Mamoa.

I'm sad and over it. I think the DCEU was headed in a good direction had they stucked to it. I'm not confident in WB. Its like a few years they have a shake up and change gears. Hopefully going forward they can finally stick to a plan.
I think Jason wasn't that excited because of everything hanging over the film, with it being the last movie which is something not planned but instead was cut short of its potential 3 film arc. And also with Patrick Wilson taking the secondary leading role part from Amber Heard because of her controversy, it was just Patrick and Jason promoting the film. Seeing the two of them together just made everyone think of the other behind the scenes problem the film had with all the reshoots to cut Meera mostly out.

Haven't seen 2, but he was about the best part of 1, they wrote him dead on, got the perfect actor and did not shy away from a potentially silly costume and made it almost scary. Seeing Black Manta live action was the whole reason I even watched the original, though.
Not sure if I'll do the second. Not a huge fan of Mamoa as Aquaman, plain can't stand Heard, I thought she was obnoxious long before the Depp thing.
Can't wait to see Mamoa do Lobo, though. He's perfect for that.

They had the best cast, a great director, and a terrible panicky studio that made every poor decision that derailed the whole studio and story.
Honestly thought I'm just glad we are moving forward at this point. But what sucks for the Flash is that it was actually a great movie and because of Ezra Miller and the change of the future of DCU movies really tanked what was a great movie

Thanks again Charlie. I love your DC content. I seen it today (In 3 D) with the Mrs and we enjoyed it. Of course some Easter eggs, references or cameos would've been nice. I was hoping for a King Shark cameo or at least a reference in the pirate scene 😢. Martin Short did some great voice work. I'm optimistic for James Gunns DCU. He is great at world building.

As a DC fan, I enjoyed the movie. It was fun and the box numbers are good.
-Aquaman under water strength and speed was very weak in the movie.
-action scenes and SFX werent good
-comedic moments were ok
-the brother enemy/teammate has been done before
This whole movie just feels like it was a bunch of popular plots thrown into one movie.

R.I.P DCEU and thank you Zack Snyder for bringing these characters to life. I would like to think in my head cannon that the true ending of the DCEU if you skip out on The Flash and Aquaman 2 movies is the ending of the Snyder cut saving the day and the hero lineup looking into the horizons with faces and hope and justice as Junkie XL's epic track plays in the background 😢.

@@dedee7288 Zack Snyder would never have had a plan for Martian Manhunter. Remember Zack made all of his movies with David Goyer, who literally called Martian Manhunter fans virgins. The only reason Zack used Manhunter was because he couldn't get permission to use Green Lantern. Zack had not vision, he was just throwing ideas at the wall and seeing if anything would stick. It's how he makes all his movies that aren't direct adaptations of someone elses story.
DCEU should have said goodbye and thanks just like Endgames' ending. It would have been nice to say thanks to those who worked hard and were screwed by things out of their control. I personally would have loved to have seen Snyder's complete DCEU vision. The good guys losing and you knowing another movie will fix it is always a winner at the box office.

This movie is fucking awesome...no way it shouldn't make more money than the first 1. Fantastic Movie...too many haters out there. There should be a 3rd movie.

Hate me if that makes you happy, I enjoyed this movie way better than any recent DC and marvel and Star wars movies, plus rebel moon. This rainbow glitter popcorn movie is way more entertaining and coherent than any of those. At least I left the theater with a smile on my face, instead of hating myself for wasting of time.
I hope they released deleted scenes of both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck Batman when it comes out on blu-ray

This movie was better than the reviews implied. It did feel like something was missing and it was Meras awkward showing. Understand why they went that way but the product wasn’t as good because of it. But other than that it was pretty good and I did enjoy the post credits lol
I wish the DCEU had played out like it was suppose the suits and constant leadership changes at WB ruined it...someone should do a documentary on WB about how to ruin a billion dollars brand

I wasn't going to watch this movie anyway only because it's released in 2023 and I'm waiting until 2026 to actually watch movies in theaters on a semi-regular basis.
Honestly I liked the Aquaman 2 movie for what it was. The post credit scene seemed fitting since it was the end of DCEU run. There was no need to make that scene into a teaser. The movie felt like they tried to not too leave any loose ends because this was the end for them so of course we got the everyone is happy ending and the main villain is killed quickly. Never to be seen again.
The ending works because a lot of major comic characters have to appear before world governments and formally introduce themselves/ advocate going forward. Wonder Woman and Themyscira(?), Iron man and Stark Industries, Superman as Earths official protector, Martian Manhunter as the JL spokesperson, X-men as mutant advocates, etc

The first Aquaman movie was phenomenal! One of my favorite super hero movies off all time! But this movie was mid af. The woke global warming bs was overwhelming & not enough Manta. Overall very disappointed with this movie.

Thank God this iteration of the DCEU is done. So much wasted potential with the great casting they did. Just told a bunch of uninteresting stories that didn't connect that well. Can't wait for the reboot. We deserve better.

I liked the character arcs (especially Orm) but the whole story was just rushed, especially the end where it had like no climax at all....
The movie had potential but they would have needed more screen time.

The final line made the movie so much better to me lmao. Absolutely hilarious and legendary grand finale in my books 😂

I prefer Aquaman from the first one. This one was over the top. It's like momoa didn't come out of fast x character.
I absolutely loved the dceu charaters but jesus this reboot was 100% needed We might finally get 1 main timeline to focus on
3:46 this was more like when T'Challa revealed the true Wakanda to the world to me. Both went to the UN, both revealed themselves as a nation. Basically almost the same.

They really screwed up….. they had a stacked deck of amazing actors, great characters, and a loyal fan base, but they threw it all away. Jason M, Henry C, Gal G, Ben A, literal Dream Team. So bummed 9:44

Oliver/Spectre watching DCEU earth where he jokingly says that it doesn't matter what universe Barry always messing up with timelines and Ezra's Barry he won't able to go back to his earth instead hes stuck in an alternate DCEU earth but also created a new earth/timeline where everything has been reset. This won't stop the another Crisis On Infinite Earths caused by anti life equitation of the multiverse to reshape it under rule of a god like being called Darkseid. Oliver/Spectre plans to recruit every hero from multiverse but he's going to need help which he turns to Barry (Gustin), Supergirl (Benoist), Sarah, Constantine (Ryan), Superman (Welling), Batman (Keaton), or whoever you choose to help him find these paragons from each multiverse to help defeat Darkseid but first they need to recruit DCEU Justice League (Snyder JL) since they are on Darkseid list to destroy first after they killed Stephen wolf and prevented him from getting anti life equitation.
Jason Momoa should play as Lobo.

I thinks it’s so unfortunate there just rebooting the dceu when they had Superman perfectly cast flash perfectly cast Wonder Woman perfectly cast, jarred letos joker was improved in the synder cut and it was setting up for something cool I don’t think there’s any point in rebooting unless your mainly gonna focus on Batman and his stories there’s so many amazing Batman stories from the comics at least for a little then work into other characters so it feels like a proper reboot and just having Batman for awhile would feel familiar cause that’s how it was for the movies and really build up the other characters and the justice league because imo the dark knight trilogy will always be the best dc movies
Just saw the movie, was pretty good, i didnt go in with high exceptions but left with a solid 7/10
Aquaman 2 is a must watch , its entertaining , filming is incredible , action is On Point , an easy win , i wouldn't get too dramatic on what should of or why regarding the ending , the movie is a Blast from start to finish and considering Marvels output from there side was poor ,our DC superheros Aquaman and the Flash took the Gold ! 9/10

It was not a great bookened for the DCEU, but I'm ready for them to start the new connected movies. It will be a little easier to invest time and energy into that once the new stuff gets here.
Aquaman 2 wasnt meant to end the DCEU if you are watching the movie that way I dont think you are being fair to the film. Aquaman 2 was just meant to be a sequel to Aquaman.
We all know it was a mistake to end the Snyderverse. So disappointed in DC. They better really make this new universe work. Or lose my money
To describe the ending scene to the entire DCEU, it was like the third Powerpuff Girls episode
I like how the producers thought "should we close out paying tribute to thousands of people who worked on this decade spanning project". And then they though "nah".
The worst thing they did was removing michael keaton from aquaman 2 and rest of projects
I really enjoyed the movie. They did make it a little more jokey in this one but overall it was a solid movie. Action scenes were great.
Too bad this is the end of DCEU... Aquaman 2 was a good movie and think that they are headed on the right direction with these one. Specially the end credit scene. If only they were the first rather than Marvel they could have compete with them in a better way.
