I think you mean Celine has *precise* pitch. Perfect pitch means a person can give you a specific note on their own, without having to hear it on an instrument like a piano. So if out of the blue, I ask that person to give me a "G", they can give me that exact note. Celine, like most singers, has relative pitch. If you give her the note, she has her key and can then go on from there. For The Power of Love, which starts off acapella, I'm guessing the note is given to her in her earpiece.

But hey, that's to be expected. As singers age, they can't sing as high, because the vocal cords become longer and thicker, making the voice less flexible too. What this speaks to is the fact that Celine's songs are so murderously difficult to sing, at the level Celine did in her youth/prime. And that also speaks to the fact that Celine's vocals were truly creme de la creme, among the very best of the best in the world. This phenomenon among aging singers is not unique to Celine, no one is immune to it. Take opera singers for example, arguably the best singers among ANY genre of singing....Joan Sutherland had to lower the key on several signature arias, as did Beverly Sills, even though both of them were world class coloratura sopranos known for high notes. Pavarotti in his later years had to transpose down arias that had high C's, even though he was known as king of the High C's. And going back into the pop world, both Whitney and Mariah's performances of their hits were nowhere nearly as pristine as when they were both in their prime. Lowered keys, and less precise runs were not unusual.
