Even though everything he played in this video didn't quite work and there were a few mistakes here and there, Calvin always takes risks with his playing which is why he gets better and better as time goes on. He's influenced my playing more in the last 10 years than Weckl did back in the '90s.
But I did say it. It wasn't a slam on Calvin by any means. He's one of my favorite musicians. I was just commenting on the risks he take and I'd like to think he would say the same thing.
