Dr. Hodmeister, I appreciated this brief lecture. I am and FNP trying to help a friend interpret results (she is also working also with hem/onc). On the SPEP there is a spike in the Beta Globulin (reported in G/DL), but also reported is an IGG spike (in mg /DL). I would expect if the the IGG spike is high it would have been a spike in the Gamma Globulin not Beta Globulin. Is there a simple explanation for the discrepancy? Also which value would be followed for treatment Beta, IGG or both.
