    Brilliant. 👍
Just been on a No Farmers No food rally today down here in Cornwall. Around about 40 tractors and farm vehicles turned up alongside several hundreds of people in the local town, all in support of the demonstration. I was really shocked how many people I talked to afterwards that were full onboard with it all. So many non farmers who know what’s coming down the tracks towards them.
Really great to be part of this movement 🚜🚜🚜

Well done Rachel and all for highlighting this. The PSC group who scrutinise our own local councils up in Lancashire have recently supported the Lancashire farmers movement protest near preston .
A great get together in a peaceful protest of like minded people .
The cost across the board is spiraling out of control for both farmers and the public . The narrative that's being pushed we must remember is certainly not there to help us, the government do not have our best interests to heart.
We must all support the farmers everywhere, no farmers no food, fact.

    • @CCCwatch
      @CCCwatch  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    • @jameswalker2584
      @jameswalker2584 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

@@CCCwatch Thank you for the response considering the demands on your time I much appreciate the courtesy.
I agree nobody is a climate denier. However the phrase is extremely effective in marshalling condemnation of (ironically ) those with enough commonsense and courage to call out climate absurdity.
Climate denier as a weapon to deflect from difficult questions is even effective when used by the dim, slavish and duped followers of the net zero/ stop oil/ decarbonise the economy foot soldiers
The phrase levels an accusation at the non believers. It reverses logic by demanding the 'denier' justify their position while all the claims of catastrophe are not to be questioned. While logic demands he who claims must prove.
So it performs the additional function of provocation. ( More to be said but enough on that)
I have adopted the term climate cultist to turn the tables on the smugnerant who are playing a part in stealing our future and freedoms with absurd zeal
I considered the term climate absurdist to be more to the point but I think climate cultist hits home harder
I mean a denier does not accept the evidence but a cultist never questions the holy words
I love your work I hope you are able to keep it up
      Kindest regards

If you consider the history of our planet from its formation to today you could suggest that the idea that we humans could end its existence is stupendously arrogant. What we need to save our planet from are those who wish to take control of it and all on it for their own gain. There are so many more of us than them so why are we letting this happen? We should be doing everything in our power to stop this attempt to have power and control over all we think, do, say, and indeed eat.

No one ever says we will end the existence of the planet.
The issue is about the planet being suited to us as humans. The planet has happily existed as a complete ice ball The Marinoan glaciation for 15 million or so years, humans have not survived such!
Humans could now probably 'survive' more extremes than when hunter gatherers. But in what numbers? Where, whose lands? Then, there is the less fundamental issues, like sea rising and wiping out huge cities full of people, and just land to grow food and live on. The local rioting and disorder of chaos, to full scale invasions of the left good places to be. The disruption of where what crops will grow as climate changes, one bad year and even now how many will starve?

The greedy are the ones selling out. They have a choice to take less and only sell on conditions of farming the land only. Local small field here, was bid on by a developer spiv and a local that was renting it for their horse. In the end the seller chose the lower offer rather than let the developer have it. Honest decent people are not greedy and facilitate developers. Or these Financial groups.

Yes that figure .... 97 percent, represents those that agree that climate change is taking place, however, within that 97 percent, according to analysis of published surveys 84 - 97 percent believe that human activity is responsible, that's an average of 93 percent ... 93 percent of 97 is 90.21 percent, I'd say that's a consensus wouldn't you. I was referring to the climate papers the IPCC make their reports from. Take a look at the actual full breakdown halfway down this page co2coalition.org/media/97-consensus-what-consensus-2/ - the climate scientist we work with is included in the 97% because he acknowledges that 'some' warming is caused by human activity but he disagrees with how the IPCC present things as do the majority of scientists whose living does not depend on them believing in anthropogenic climate change.
Also, since when is a consensus science? Science should be proven and replicable, it should not be belief-based.

@@annapachaclarke2392 No .... I don't, I've had an interest in these matters for over 40 years, and can tell you that the vast majority of research into climate change is funded by the tax payer, indirectly through government grants, the rest of the funding in the main is funded by charitable institutions, very little of the funding comes from profit making organisations, unlike the Coalition, which has in the past been funded by some major players in the fossil fuel industry and dodgy hedge fund management teams, hardly a suprise though, the Coalition's CEO William O'Keefe was previously CEO of The American Petroleum Institute ... LOL you couldn't make it up.

So why are farmer's markets more expensive than the supermarkets? The blame the supermarkets line was used long ago and then the sell direct turned out more expensive. Big mountain to get that line back now.
Easy example found on your Big barn, On half price offer! Helen Browning sausages, frozen. 200g for £2.55 ( 1 pack from buying the bulk offer pack) But Tesco Richmond Sausages, 860g for £2.99. Over 400% as much food for only 20% more money. Double that if not currently discounted by half usual expected price! Who are the ones ripping who off here?
Market gardening, veg, different to bulk of farming grains.
You are not going to overturn the world's scientist's calculations of the science. That is going to take real reputable scientists to disprove or challenge. Sorry but anti climate changers just look like nutters in the current world view.
Land is being bought to to sell carbon absorbing credits for the world's big polluters who can not change to clean processes. Offsetting, carbon capture nonsense.
Various techs may well soon be manufacturing all milk based foods, fermenting it without a cow. Same with meat they can make it, just not in scale for economic use. Yet.
Oh and I grow more potatoes than I eat in a year, while they keep. Have a couple of cardboard boxes full still now. Must plant fewer this year! You can live on potatoes, you will starve on green leafy veg.

That's a good question - I suspect because they can be... but I have local farm shop that's really good price wise, so look for those rather than the farmers markets. In time, when there's more competition the prices will even out.

I get your point about anti climate change nutters but science is no less corruptable than anything else.
A good example is the C19 event, the product of choice could only be got into use under EUA as it had known toxicity issues hence no prior approval before the event👍 safe&effective was a marketing slogan for a NEW product🤝they don't like the narative challenged and that's a big problem for all.

Oh I quite agree actually, group think is a danger in many walks of life, and science is no exception.
Perhaps especially where incomes and 'fitting in' are powerful and abused, as they are in all institutions re the religious pc/woke adherence requirements, as the classic current example.
However the Climate view is not going to be changed by random moaning members of the public it will take top experts questioning and debunking previous assumptions. 'I like my polluting car and ways', 'they are cheaper', is not an argument.
Local mere Councillors are not in a position to go against official Government level policy, beliefs, instructions, general trends.
For me it is easy, look at the measures using climate change as a motivator or excuse. They are largely all good really regardless. There is no harm being done. Carbon or no carbon issues, oil/gas is finite! Certainly goes against my grain to use something I might run out of. Even down to the level of last pack of biscuits in the cupboard, best not open them until stocks are replenished! Oil/gas is filthy and finite, imported, sooner we lower use, let alone reliance on it the better.

@@CCCwatch It is actually simple, they, direct selling big barn collated types of operation, are 'marketing' a luxury food product. All mark up and image, branding. They are not competing at all with supermarkets but Fortnum's and Masons, Harrods food halls. They make the mistake of thinking people who buy normal food, value range to eat and survive, will leave supermarkets for them! As there is a blame the big operator mentality generally. Yet the prices they charge actually show everyone the Supermarkets are fantastic!
Farm shops that do not match the delivery of the Supermarkets are of no use. Especially as it would make a second delivery charge just for a few veg. More savings by shopping at the Supermarket.
So that 28p cauliflower. They could sell it for double, 56p if the Sainsbury's price is £1.75 Then they would get double the income and customers would move. So long as there was a worthwhile selection of similar savings on many other veg too, to make the trip elsewhere worth the trouble.

Just think how regressive inflation is.43k was the 40% tax threshold in 2016. 43K back then, is 63K inflation adjusted today. With £50,271 being the forty percent tax threshold today, they have lowered the tax threshold by 10K roughly, almost 7k in 2016 money, effectively lowering the 40% rate by 20%. Also wage's have lagged inflation by around 3% meaning we have all effectively received pay cuts during this period. To compound this asset prices generally rise with inflation making the wealthy richer. Just as a final note we all must support the farmers everywhere, no farmers= no food (unless you like crickets). Good work🎯🎯
