- A controversial decision by leaders at the University of Southern California relates to the debate raging on many U.S. campuses over the war in Gaza. The school says it's canceling a planned graduation speech by its valedictorian, Asna Tabassum, due to safety concerns. This follows the online response to a pro-Palestinian link that Tabassum posted on her Instagram account.

USC doesn't want to put this woman center stage in the graduation ceremony because of her political views and identity. It has little to do with "safety".
More likely the school doesn't want to lose the big money from its top Zionist donors.

“Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves … politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves… The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country. … Behind the terrorism [by the Arabs] is a movement, which though primitive is not devoid of idealism and self sacrifice.”

of course you have find it.
Jews have been expelled from 109 countries. Wonder why???
She never posted that or post that by someone else, but she did post from a group that has made that claim before.
They should have disqualified her from being a valedictorian , not prohibit her speech.
That's just standard Islamic teaching
Why are we giving her a plat form she said usa betrayed me
The has betrayed a lot of its citizens
Hamas and the Palestinian people are one in the same. Never forget how the Palestinian people danced and cheered in the streets when 9/11 was happening.
I think you talking about the abc story of the dancing Israelis that were arrested by the FBI in New Jersey on 9-11
Exactly.
@@BobSacamano666no Roger talking about terrorism and terrorist supporters.. if u can't remember then ask TH-cam . Bush demo twin towers and Palestine cheered
I dance in the street on Oct 7.😅
Correct Palestinians overwhelming supported HAMAS invading Israel and murdering women and Children! Elected Hamas to run government over PLO!
She's pro-Hamasstinian
I believe it is time to halt this practice of having the students speak at graduation. It used to be an opportunity for some uplifting talk about graduation and the hopes and success for the future, Now it is just an opportunity to spout out mostly leftist talking points.
A minor in "resistance to genocide."
Uhhh...WTF?
So you don't think genocide is worth resisting? Sounds like a morally deprived position
@@safiyahchowdhury4843 Perhaps you are the morally deprived person if you think a degree in "resistance to genocide" is a valid course focus of study.
Good decision, right decision , wrong selection of valedictorian, doubts if she wasn’t chosen in the first place because she is an Arab calling herself Palestinian.
A valedictorian is not selected. It's the student with the highest grades graduating that year.
@@Raizhen010 I know this, but because political “ correctness “ goes above anything and above everything I believe today they select. I worked in h.s. 25 years and I watched how meritocracy has died.
Good 👍, we have had enough of harassment.
War in Yemen, Gaza, Lebanon and Iran... Good job on not covering the genocide and WW3 you journalists 😂😂😂
Journalists have done extended coverage of Hamas' attempted genocide. And you seem to take a very narrow view. No mention of Ukraine, the stuff going on in Africa, and China's ongoing imperialism.
Is that your way of saying look the other way?
Jews in American universities are the ones making calls who goes is admitted or not. She got more attention than that speech.
Yes we saw that at the beginning of this conflict when donors threatened to pull out if universities allowed free speech groups.
Antisemitism that won't get censored by yt. But if I say a swear word my comment goes poof.. lol crazy world.
The entire point of going to university is to expand the students' intellectual and communicational horizons. The leadership cancelling a valedictorian speech, and lying about why, defeats its purpose.
Or they figure since she still hasn't learned how to properly define genocide that it'd be an embarrassment to all to let her rant on about something she refuses to understand.
@@Draigon18 Are you seriously doing the "technically its not a genocide" thing? Are you actually ready to commit to this?
You don't have to commit to this.
@@karmabeast definitely. if u cant separate 1 bad thing from another bad thing and must resort to blurring the lines then its gonna be hard to sympathize with ur cause as u just seem insane and focused on spreading propaganda instead of facts. seriously and actually. much like the failing of the defund the police movement. language matters.
@@Draigon18I can separate 1 bad thing from another. Hamas terrorism, which is lashing out against generations of apartheid, is bad. The Israeli military systematically murdering over 30,000 Palestinian civilians in 6 months, while also displacing 1.5 million people, is also bad. However, the two are obviously related, and I think the latter is categorically worse.
@@karmabeast the fact u quote that 30k as meer citizens is telling. Hamas numbers don't differentiate citizen from militant. But make the death count during a war sound like it's just a slaughtering of civilians. U got problems.
Post your speech on platforms for more people to see than just a handful of people
I genuinely would like to know what link she is referring to. If CBS was actually doing their job they would take 10 seconds of airtime to show that. However, I'm guessing that the link isn't a positive one and that is why they did not show it.
Got to keep up the narrative.
They showed what the link went to -- it was a post about how Israel is a racist state and it brought attention to illegal settlements in Palestine. Pause the video and read
What the hell is resistance to genocide
Apparently, it means excusing Islamic violence 🙄

Student speeches at graduation should be cancelled permanently.
Or teachers could just teach students what the term genocide actually means instead of letting idiots throw it around willynilly
If she’s going to demand Hamas surrender and release all hostages, let her talk. Somehow I believe she’s going to support Gazan’s who voted overwhelmingly to elect a terrorist group as their government. And, the vast majority would re-elect Hamas as their government again. Glad she was shut down
Being Validictorian, is not a license to express one's views. It's about reflecting on one's educational and social experiences, whilst encouraging other fellow students to go out and create a better future for themselves and the world.
and who said she was going to mention anything about her views? She never said she was. They saw a link on her social media account and got terrified that she might insult their superiors
Anyone who isn't from Britain saying "whilst" is obviously acting pretentious.
If all students cannot be valedictorian equally then shut down the entire college. That is discrimination and I hope she sues and wins. Unfair policies are not above the constitution.
