Thanks for the review. I’ve already got the K8.2’s and just about to put my order in on 2 x KS112’s. Just like you said - it’s the perfect around micro system.
I have the 2 QSC K 8.2s and 2 of the K212s and that like you said is a micro system BUT it sounds like a system that is rolling with the big boys :)!!!!
My next purchase, great review. I can't fit my kw181s under the cover of my truck bed, so I am stuck always hauling a trailer. This would allow me to just load up the truck for smaller weddings.
I've had and upgraded my QSC speakers for the past 10 years. Just upgraded my 181's to the ks118s last week. Can't wait to use them. Never had use for a 12 inch sub, but your idea of a micro system makes a lot of sense to pair with my k8.2s or k10.2s. Thanks boss.
Great video!! I am glad somebody left a video with there honest opinion. No promo from the company. I also own a pair of the QSC KS112 and KW118's. Been using QSC speakers since the HPR series. YES!!! Worth every penny for something compact.
Michael Davis I’m glad you appreciated the video. Like you I’m a avid fan of QSC, they’ve never let me down. I’ve pushed them in Texas heat for hours and never had a issue. The output combined with the size and portability makes them worth every penny.
I just ordered mine, thanks for your review . Short and sweet you get right to the point, I'll be using this sub for most of my gigs if I need another I'll get one. I don't want to go with the 18s. Not as you g as I use to be ( still good looking ) :-)))) Thank you Travis
Thanks bro, they are incredible. I would recommend them a million times and never doubt my recommendation. The fact that this a 12 inch woofer still blows my mind.
donald cannon i got the 112 with 2 cp 12s..if you want something as big as the 212c id go with a 181 (more bass) but for being portable and have the most punch nothing goes harder than the 112 imo

thank you i just pick mine up today at guitar center, they only had 1. Sounds real good for the size. are you running 2? my only fear is losing alot of bass when your dance floor is 15 feet away.
I just bought 2 of them haven't used them yet ill use just 1 this weekend wit 2 of the turbo sound tops which are 12s rated at 1100 watts each, With the one ill be pushing 4200 watts. That's with the top mains and the 1 sub. Thanks for your video!!
I will say this.... When using the KS112 I had it laying down flat under a 6ft table with linen draped in front of it. Trying to hide the sub from view. Make sure there is nothing in front of the speaker as the air from the sub was sucking and pushing the linen canceling sound. Think of a towel on your face trying to breath. When I removed the linen, you can hear the bass clear without sound cancelation. Great buy and just ordered another just because I can. IDJNOW has great deals with covers plus a 12% discount.
Good work on the video, and I like the micro-system concept. I used a different set of gear to assemble a similar sort of micro-system, but not as capable as what you have. Interestingly, the K8-2 and KS112 both use woofers (built by Celestion) that have dual stacked magnets, for large internal clearances that allow long cone excursion. Be careful using the pole mount with the woofer upright instead of on its side, because if the woofer is upright then there is a lot smaller footprint to spread the load and the whole thing might tip over if it gets bumped.
rorybz thanks bro, you’re definitely correct with possible tipping over. I would hope a crowd where I’m using this set up, would be pretty tamed. When drinking is involved anything’s possible.😏
Great video, liked and subscribed. So that one sub with 2 QSC CP12s , you think I'll be good with 50 ish 100 tops ppl. The place is a ex skating rink, event center now, so everything takes place on the rink.. Thanks

Believe it or not the smaller Ks112 PUNCHED more! Standing about 5-6 ft away.....I was really curious and I looked at the spec sheets and the ks112 starts lower in frequency so i guess thats why you hear more knock?, But standing 30 feet away you could hear the 212more...so i guess the advantage of the 212 is just a difference in range? and not having sound in the back as much obviously (being cardioid)..but anyways thanks for the video above 🙏🏻💯
Emerald Ent The cool thing is you can purchase 2 of the 112’s and stagger them in the room if you need punch in another part of the room. The small footprint is the main selling point. Yesterday I actually dj a a gig with two ks112’s and two k8.2’s and it fit into a Acura TL.
Nice video.. i'd like to hear what you think about it today in 2024. Is this still the main gear for a mobile DJ doing weedings and small venues or it has evolved to another type of sub. What do you think about the dsp. Is it built to last like the other's ?
Thanks for your comments. To answer your question about 2024, the answer is I still use them and have never had any issues whatsoever. I usually use them with two 8.2 tops and a DBX DriveRack for the sound processing.
I was gonna get this but I caught a god father deal at guitar center 2 qsc 152s for 1200 bucks great condition barely a scratch on a trade some dude just kept them in his garage for 7 months hardly used they just had dust on the handles and in deep mode for more bass them dudes rock I call them the dukes of hazard bo and Luke for you old school cats that know what I’m talking about I also have a pair of k12.2 and a 181 that bangs... my favorite set up right now is the 152s and the 181 combo
Andre Bryant those are a great combo, they sound great. The speakers I mentioned are really for small to medium gigs when you might not have access to a SUV, van or truck. Sounds like you got a helluva deal.
Great video, bro! You mentioned you've done small weddings with this sub. Do you think a single one of these would suffice for an outdoor backyard wedding (under 100 people)?
100 people out side one would be pushing it. With that said, remember there will never be 100 people’s on the dance floor at once so it’s possible. The ceremony yes , it’s more than enough.
CMS ENT SERVICES I’m good bro, I’m glad that you are satisfied with your purchase. I’m with you on the portability of the subs. You also have the ability to separate all of them if you needed sound in different parts of the room. They’re a cant miss IMO, nice video. Keep killin em.
Nice Video, I also Dj and travel in a car, I can use something like this, Is it possible to do a video of you putting the sub woofer in your car. That would be cool to see how it fits, Thanks!
Dj Will Chicago I can do that, I actually can fit two sums, two K8’s, my pioneer 1000, two moving heads, bags, speaker stand, table, mics and assorted lights. All this fits in a Acura TL
great video! did you just 1 outside? if so, could i rock a 200 person wedding and have you feel the thump of hip hop music with 2 of these?. i have (2) K12.2 for tops
madjoints yes two would do 200 people easy IMO. I’ve done many weddings and rarely will you have all two hundred on the floor at one time. Remember inside vs outside and speaker placement is pivotal.
Marcus Franklin in my opinion, I believe four four hundred people if inside of a building. The bass is a very punchy bass. They actually can get pretty low for a 12 inch driver much lower than the ksub. I think the size and compactness is the biggest benefit to this speaker. It’s small but get very powerful.
That’s a great combination, the dual sub will definitely give you more punch. The best feature of the KS212 is the Cardioid function. It keeps most of the sound in front of the speaker. The original K12’s are still on point. The for the view. Hit me up if you have any other questions.
I just received mine today. I purchased these for the same reason “smaller events”. I’ll be testing these out this weekend. I also have a pair of k12.2 do you recommend I sit those on a sub pole or speaker stands? Nice video!
VICTOR GONZALEZ If you decide to use the pole I would lay the speaker in the flat position. I suggest that because i believe it’s stability is better as far as being knocked over in a crowded room. If you decide to lay it down you can buy a poke extension to give you the height back that you lost by laying it in the flat position. Since you have a pair, you can use speaker stands and put the two subs together. By doing this this will give you 3db increase in sound.
Great vid but I just used the 152s in deep mode instead of buying a extra sub they are more versatile I have the 181s as well and k12.2s I’ve rocked a thousand people daddy daughter dance where club bass wasn’t needed with 1 181...2 k12.2s and 2 152s and it worked great it’s on fb andrebryanticonmobilemusic
Hello my friend! Nice video by the way! I was wondering if the qsc ks212c sound as deep as the kw181...? I am right between these 2 and wait maybe one more year if QSC brings maybe a new 18" sub. Thank you very much for your time and for the video. Thumbs up from me...
giannis mavridis I’ve compared the 212c to the 181. In my opinion the 181 is deeper but the 212 is puncher. 212c is definitely a great buy but if your playing hip hop, EDM or anything with deep bass I would go with the 181. Thanks for your comments bro.
I've been having some issues with this sub. Initially purchased it 8 months ago. 5 months in sub came off during live play. Spoke to qsc and they replaced it. The replacement after 2 hours of continuous usuage comes off and on with 10 seconds intervals. Never even past 0 for db setting. Never really pushed the sub. Will probably move to rcf line array setup
John Anup sorry to hear that, I’ve been fortunate and haven’t had any issues as of yet. Like anything, it could just have been simply defective from the factory. I would also ad, be sure to monitor for clipping or over driving the speaker. Remember this at least a thousand watts rms to a single 12 inch woofer. Again I haven’t had any issues as of yet.

How does this compared to the previous ksub? Is it worth buying or best investing in full sub if already have the ksub. I only do small family gathering but plan on expanding in future.
Just wanted to say. I was in the market for a sub i have the. Qsc cp 12's. I was searching ariund. To get a sub for. It i was getting mix reviews about the ks 112. I found your. Video. And ive read all the comments got alot of question answered. From them. I just want. To say anybody on da fence about buying these subs. Rest assured you wont be dissapointed. Like everyone else in here is not gonna be. An eathquakes but. It will do just enough to make you feel it. The best feature is that. If you a 1 man show this will help out alot. Where you dont have to carry all that weight. When you. Finish an event. That right there is the. Best feature. And trust and believe. People. Will look at u like. What that sub gonna do. Its not until its herd that they will understand why you got it
I have the KW181s that I couple with the k12.2. I just bought 2 ks112 and a pair of k8.2. I have an outdoor back to school event for the local church is sponsoring they are expecting about 100 people for the day, but only 50 to 70 at one time. Would the microsystem be enough?
Wanted to do a follow up....yesterday I used the the 2 ks112 and instead of the k8.2 I used 2 k10.2. For the outdoor back to school event. It was difficult to determine if it was enough because they had me set up near the building, but the children were far away about 60 to 70 yards at the jumpy houses and petting zoo in the grass. I stacked the subs for more bass. Later that night using the same set up the subs made me proud. I had a family reunion that they told me would be 70 people it turned out to be 130 people. I did not stack them for the family reunion. When they opened up the dance floor it was PLENTY. Older crowd that listed to r&b.... ie Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire the whispers a little Beyoncé and Bruno. Your right it’s not a sub for hip hop but it handled the those artists with ease. All speakers set at 12 noon. Never clipped or limited. Thanks again for the video.
Flash McGrath IMO it really depends on the type of party your doing. To be specific, it depends if you’ll have 250-300 people on the dance floor at one time. I think 2 of the Ks112’s might lack a little if all 300 are on the floor at one time. Hit me back if you have any additional questions. By the way thanks bro.
WHATS UP DUDE , GREAT TO THE POINT VIDEO , HEY I JUST PURCHASED 2 OF THEM , HAVE NOT USED THEM IN A PARTY YET , BUT I AM WONDERING IF I ACTUALLY NEED 2 OF THEM ..I PLAN TO DO WEDDINGS AND STUFF , YOU THINK I NEED 2 OF THEM ?
joshua galvan thank you. To answer your question about needing two of these subs, it really depends on how many people your performing for. Weddings usually don’t have everyone on the dance floor at once. Weddings are also not required to be bass heavy. Most wedding you can assume you’ll have about 1/3 of the crowd on the floor at once. IMO I would say one is good for a hundred people at a wedding.
What up man. I just picked up the KS112 that you recommend. Thank you for your awesome review. Question...does the fan turn on when powered on? Mine does not. Is the fan only activate when the unit is overheating? Thank you for your time.
djtrickset it doesn’t necessarily come on every time you turn it on, the fan comes intermittently. I’m glad you found value in the review. I believe you’ll be satisfied with your purchase.
Cool. Glad to know! Yeah. I called QSC and the rep told me that it kicks on when it gets hot. So my unit is good. Def thanks for the response man. Keep the videos coming. Thank you.
Ronald Mejia I would recommend for sure. It’ll two to get close to the out put of a 181, but one definitely is a good buy. Good punch for such a small compact box.
Cool, bruh. THANKS for the info!!!! I''m thinking about "pullin the trigger" on one with a pr of k12.2 AND the touchmix 16 tomorrow. ($2800) used. Worth the price?
rudycorraudio IMO it’s not worth replacing your original K12’s. I’ve previously owned the original K8’s and now have the .2’s and they sound very close to me.
@@FIREAFD9 .Yeah that's what I wanted to hear. I'm verry happy with the K12's. No need to replace them. I've had this system fo 8 years now and haven't had a problem. QSC for the win!
@@james1939-s1c Yeah I resently heard the new K12.2 next to my old K12 and didn't hear the need to replace my K12's. Might upgrade to KLA12 in a year or so.
What would be the optimal setting with these subwoofers if Im using the K12 QSC Tops and 2 or 1 QSC subwoofers 80% or 100% crossover etc. Party for about 100-200 ppl? I have Rane One Mixer?? 4 speaker or 3 speaker setup.
It gets lower then the Ksub for sure but it’s no 18 either. If you have two of these side by side , you’ll get some serious thump. What I love about them is the versatility and small footprint.
djtrickset as far as the K8.2 I set the crossover to 100 and the Ks112 to 100 as well. I have the Touchmix 8 , and I do some equalization just for a little boost in sound. It is pretty much plug and play.
I’m not sure because I’m not familiar with the Bose sub 2. I do know I run two of them at 12:00 with a DBX drive rack and they hit hard. I believe it’s because of the band pass box design.
I haven’t, but it’s not because I don’t think they’re quality. I’ve QSC simply because it’s all I’ve used since 2010. They’ve served me well. There are definitely many other quality options out there, I just choose QSC.
reyzuna actually they’re decent outside, they just won’t and can’t travel the distinguished the 181’s. Nice thump and very clean bass. They are definitely not lacking as far as power.
Marcus Franklin the delay is for if your subs are in front or behind your mains so that the audience receives the audio signal at the same time. Hit me up if my explanation is not adequate. Thanks for your commitments and questions.
@@FIREAFD9 thanks bro, I usually have my subs in front coupled together, or either one sub on the side with one top. 2hat delay settings would you recommend for both positions?
Marcus Franklin coupled together is going to give you more bass on the dance floor than separate. The delay only becomes necessary if the subs are in front of the tops more a a ft or more.
We cannot hear the bass obviously, but your verbal description and personal opinion is what is of value in this video, thanks
That was the point, thank you for your comment.
Watching this video in 2024! Great information! I recently bought some K12.2s to replace or add to my EV 15P tops! They do the job! -DJ 14K

This sub is awesome! Congrats on your first video!

great video! did you just 1 outside? if so, could i rock a 200 person wedding and have you feel the thump of hip hop music with 2 of these?. i have (2) K12.2 for tops
madjoints yes two would do 200 people easy IMO. I’ve done many weddings and rarely will you have all two hundred on the floor at one time. Remember inside vs outside and speaker placement is pivotal.
But if you use 2 of these. You can do a bigger venue. I'm gonna put them with my 2 qsc 12s on top
That make good sense to me, everything should be in pairs to keep an even balance. I'm going for two of these with two k12.2
Nice video bro 👍 have a question....How many people you think four 112's would cover?
Marcus Franklin in my opinion, I believe four four hundred people if inside of a building. The bass is a very punchy bass. They actually can get pretty low for a 12 inch driver much lower than the ksub. I think the size and compactness is the biggest benefit to this speaker. It’s small but get very powerful.
FIREAFD9 thanks bro I appreciate your reply. Im trying to find a way to keep from carring the KW181s up and down stairs lol.
Marcus Franklin I understand that, you won’t be disappointed.
FIREAFD9 Yes im impressed, I have two already. I figured 4 would hold up pretty good.
What's up man. Greetings from Miami.
I just purchased the KS212C with 2 k12 speakers previously version
Do you think it is a good combination?
That’s a great combination, the dual sub will definitely give you more punch. The best feature of the KS212 is the Cardioid function. It keeps most of the sound in front of the speaker. The original K12’s are still on point. The for the view. Hit me up if you have any other questions.
@@FIREAFD9 Thanks. I'm looking forward to test them.
💯 good look
Wear headphones for this demo
Thinking about buying that sub
FIREAFD9 thanks for the info!
I'm pretty sure you can do a bigger event with 2 of these subs
Hello my friend good video , I have a pair of those subwoofers and the sound quality it’s professional 100%
Pablo Dutan thank you bro, I love them as well.
Cheers my friend! :)

Its not until its herd that they will understand why you got it
I have the KW181s that I
couple with the k12.2. I just bought 2 ks112 and a pair of k8.2. I have an outdoor back to school event for the local church is sponsoring they are expecting about 100 people for the day, but only 50 to 70 at one time. Would the microsystem be enough?
Harry Raetz that be plenty, I bet money they’re going to ask you to turn it down several times before your done.
FIREAFD9 Thank you much!!!!! This should save me on lifting those heavy 181s
Will a couple of Qsc k112 and a couple of kla12 be enough to cover 250 to 300 people? Good video by the way!
Thank you.
Do you highly recommend this subwoofer ? I had the kw181 and loved it, but had to sell it because I had an issue with the space in my car.
VINZ BROWN new for everything is about 3500, sounds pretty good. The only thing is new you get 6 year warranty.
@@FIREAFD9 Cooool..I APPREECH, brotha!!
I have 4-KW181's and 4- K12's. Is there a big difference in sound quality and output with the new K12.2'? Enough to make me sell the K12's?
rudycorraudio IMO it’s not worth replacing your original K12’s.
I have both, unless you AB them side by side you can't tell the difference. The .2's are clearer, but the output is the same.
@@james1939-s1c Yeah I resently heard the new K12.2 next to my old K12 and didn't hear the need to replace my K12's. Might upgrade to KLA12 in a year or so.
Did you do the firmware update on your 8.2.? I’m debating should I do it ?
1 dislike from a JBL employee
Tim Harjo no doubt 😏
LOL
FIREAFD9 u only have 1 ?
What would be the optimal setting with these subwoofers if Im using the K12 QSC Tops and 2 or 1 QSC subwoofers 80% or 100% crossover etc. Party for about 100-200 ppl? I have Rane One Mixer?? 4 speaker or 3 speaker setup.
As far as sound, it really depends on the room. Positioning and size of room are critical to get the desired sound.
how much power is on the tops , the 8's
what about compared with the KSUB?
It gets lower then the Ksub for sure but it’s no 18 either. If you have two of these side by side , you’ll get some serious thump. What I love about them is the versatility and small footprint.
Is there any particular setting that you adjusted on the k8 or ks112. Or was it plug and play? Thanks!
djtrickset as far as the K8.2 I set the crossover to 100 and the Ks112 to 100 as well. I have the Touchmix 8 , and I do some equalization just for a little boost in sound. It is pretty much plug and play.
FIREAFD9 cool. Good to know!
Hi, deeper and louder than Bose Sub 2?
I’m not sure because I’m not familiar with the Bose sub 2. I do know I run two of them at 12:00 with a DBX drive rack and they hit hard. I believe it’s because of the band pass box design.
@@FIREAFD9Thanks for replying mate. Well, gotta go to the store and test it. I love the compact size, hope is not heavy to carry. Cheers!
have you considered bose sub2?
I haven’t, but it’s not because I don’t think they’re quality. I’ve QSC simply because it’s all I’ve used since 2010. They’ve served me well. There are definitely many other quality options out there, I just choose QSC.
are they good outside or just in the indoors?
reyzuna actually they’re decent outside, they just won’t and can’t travel the distinguished the 181’s. Nice thump and very clean bass. They are definitely not lacking as far as power.
is that mean the k122 is not good for bigger event ?
Ibrahim Koroma IMO for hip hop with more than 100 people, you would need two ks112 or the kw181.
Whatsup bro its me again, whats the purpose of the delay setting on the KS112?
Marcus Franklin the delay is for if your subs are in front or behind your mains so that the audience receives the audio signal at the same time. Hit me up if my explanation is not adequate. Thanks for your commitments and questions.
@@FIREAFD9 thanks bro, I usually have my subs in front coupled together, or either one sub on the side with one top. 2hat delay settings would you recommend for both positions?
Marcus Franklin coupled together is going to give you more bass on the dance floor than separate. The delay only becomes necessary if the subs are in front of the tops more a a ft or more.
@@FIREAFD9 thanks bro I appreciate your response. Looking forward to more KS112 videos from you. 👍
I forgot to mention I have 4 KS112s now, I can't wait to hear all of them together. 👍💯
