Finally!!! BWXX it's for me the best b&w roll out there, worth every penny.

XX is probably my favorite BW stock. I use CineStill's version when I need the DX code for a particular camera. I have used other hand-rolled versions which have worked well too.

I can definitely see why you enjoy it! it is so unique! I really want to try out those hand rolled ones at some point!

The light and contrast in 2:12 is gorgeous! Cute kid too 😅

this film is incredible, hardly realised how great the shadows looked in real life and the film made the shot so cinematic

Prague is perfect for BW! So glad I shot this roll there :)

Cinestill BwXX is my black and white film stock. Love the grain. The inky blacks. When exposed properly it's a beautiful look. Keep up the good work. #subbed

I love motion picture film stocks, and this one definitely didn't disappoint, such a unique look. I will have to shoot it again, cause I struggled with the exposition, it is a little trickier than other bw stocks but absolutely worth it! thank you for subbing :)) love your work!!

Can't wait to see what you think of them, with your black and white photography experience you will definitely do much better than me! really glad you liked the video and thank you for your kind words! 🙌🐶

Great video! Your pup is adorable. This is m,y favorite B&W stock and I’ve used the CineStill version (which is great, but as you say way overpriced). Film Photography Project re-rolls this and it’s just as reliable and actually one of the more affordable B&W stocks out there. Where ever you get it, you simply can’t beat it for cinematic black and white, think.

Thank you so much for your kind words and the great tip, definitely much better value at the Film Photography Project store. I will probably have to pay an arm and a leg for overseas shipping but since I'm considering getting a super 8 film development bundle from them in the future I might just make a bulk order at the same time 🙌

This is another I was planning on trying, so your video is helpful. I'd normally expect to do B&W on a sunny day to play with light and shadow, but it looks like this particular film is perhaps less suited to that style.
Either way, the doggo is super cute!

Thank you for your comment and I shall pass the compliment on to Luna 😊 To be honest, if you're experienced and good with exposure then you may not have any trouble on a sunny day either, it's just slightly trickier if you have less experience which I don't think is your case

If you liked the halation in Cinestill 800T and would like to achieve that look in monochrome, I recommend the Fomapan 400 ! It's very affordable and pretty flexible in terms of exposure too. (For best results, rate at 250, as you did here.) I've never tried BwXX or Eastman 5222, but this video confirms what I read online, that it is a difficult film to master. Looking forward to the upcoming videos :)

Oooh thank you for the tip! I just tried fomapan 100 this summer and I loved it, so I will be trying 400 for sure! curious to see the halation look you mentioned. Yes, the film is not easy, rewarding when the stars align or when you know what you're doing (which is not always my case haha!)

Thanks for the video. I have not tried it, but will need to give it a go! Also, well done on 238! I'm around 360 subs now, and it is a great journey! Sub'd

What type development chemistry was used for your B&W images? Looked great!!

Thank you for watching !! It was developed in a lab and they use ilford id11. this film has such a unique look when shot right, but not the easiest one to shoot. The good photos were worth every bad one though 🤩
