I love these updates! I just texturized my hair so I'm not even a candidate for gina curl lol but I love seeing the process and watching your hair grow out :)

I always thought that was your natural color! Living in Arizona with chemically treated hair you probably do need some UV protection for your hair. It seems like it's more susceptible to bleaching. They got hair sunscreen nowadays. Also when I lived there the water was super hard and very hard on my natural hair, so maybe that can have an effect too?

It looks like you’re losing your curls it might be the lighting. I hope you don’t have chemical or heat damage. I’d be worried if I was losing volume and the color change, maybe check with a dermatologist to make sure everything is okay.

Yes, the curls are/have loosened over time. I haven't applied heat so there's no heat damage. So these are my results just from the retouches I've had.

Are u interested in continuing to get this process done ? I’m on my 2nd GC but this time opted for a SV. My hair definitely feels thinner, it’s lighter in color, and breaks off :/ I’m probably done after this retouch tbh. I’m glad u shared ab the salon in AZ as I’m in phx also. I probably wouldn’t keep going back tbh🫣

Yeah, I'm happy with where I'm at so I will continue getting them for now. I still have regular shedding but my breakage is minimal and I have steady length retention. The hair is less voluminous and lighter in color for sure though.
I was thinking about getting the straight variation as well but seeing as how if you add heat, you can't revert back to the original curls, I haven't done it. I know you can have the straight variation without applying heat, but it seems like more of a blown out look than a straight straight look. That's unfortunate that your hair is breaking now! Is there anything in your routine you feel is contributing to breakage?
I'm okay with going back to the salon in AZ. I like the current look of my hair more than when it was thicker, so for me I'm happy with my results. I researched quite a bit prior to getting my first Gina Curl, and the main reason I decided on it rather than Wave Nouvaeu, etc. was because I saw with time, it was common for people to experience thinning and breakage. So this seemed like the best bet.

Also, when I am over getting Gina Curls, I've always planned on chopping and rocking a pixie cut. 😁

Keep in mind your hair is longer that’s why the curls are weighed down.

@@GinaCurl it was kind of a drastic change from the curls to waves from one touch up to the next. So you’re not able to maintain a curly look over time?

Thanks for the upload. You style your hair really nice.l think the thinning may be due to leaving the first product on that straightens before adding the rollers and the curl reforming product and possibly some overlap onto the processed hair.
Using the smaller rollers helped. Overall your hair is pretty and shiny.

My hair is also changing colors!!! Mine is like brown brown like a #4 brown now.
Which curly cream did/do you use every day? I currently use the honey kind of every day and then only on wash days i use cantu curling cream
