Thanks for posting. I made a similar tool and was able to remove my encoder wheel pretty easily. Have you figured out the next step to opening the case? I removed the large snap ring for the bearing, but I'm unsure if I also need to remove the smaller snap ring and whether the bearing should stay or come out with the upper casing, etc. If you have managed to figure this next part out I would love to see how. Thanks!!

Go on the Open Inverter forum. You will find more info there. I also posted pictures.
Also this video has some info on how to open the case.

@@mlg779 Thanks, yes I've seen that video, but he even asks us to comment on what to do next after removing the encoder wheel 🙂 A comment seems to imply the case needs to be pulled off of the outer bearing race. However, the Openinverter forum implies the entire bearing needs to be pulled off of the shaft... I can only find vague references to what needs to be done next, nothing concrete. So I'm just trying to get some clarification on which part actually needs to be pulled from which so I don't damage anything and minimize what I need to press back on later. Thanks and I wish you the best with your project!

@@nub340 I slowly pried apart the casing. first with something thin on one side and went side to side and jiggled it to come apart.

@@nub340 When you open it up just be careful because there are 2 wires going to the motor. Do not open it apart too much until you disconnect that cable.
