The MCU today is like visiting the house you grew up in but moved out of a long time ago. And the current residents have not taken good care of the property.
what i liked about phase 4 is how it made me realize that when Tony Stark snapped his fingers as Thanos left, so did I. MCU has become something that i almost hate to associate with now. What i dislike about Phase 4 is how it answered the question "how can they (MCU) ever top this?" in reference to endgame. i also think the multiverse idea is kinda lazy and would only ruin classics with the filth the continue to put out now. oh well, glad that's out of my system

What I don't understand is how is how lots of good reviews on other channels, websites, and what not magically become "lots of bad reviews" on channels like these. It's almost like they're being manufactured for somebody benefit, but whose? It's also amazing that for people that swear they don't go see these movies have such intricate knowledge of plot points and events in the movies. It's almost like they, ah, watched them.

Maybe it's actually good and is just a fun popcorn movie with a consistent but shallow plot and minimal socio-political implication, which the critics aren't a fan of 🤷♂️
Definitely one of the movies of this year! Stands among other movies released! The after credits scenes are something you must sit through the credits in order to see! My highest rated MCU film of 2023 to date!
I stopped watching Marvel at Infinity War. It took years for me to watch End Game, I haven't watched any Disney nor Marvel film since that time. Rules for films if I were to watch in the movie theaters: be a well written good story, be entertaining, and not a Disney film. So far only Tom Cruise films have made that mark for my interest.
They over saturated everything. Comic movies were great when they were still a niche type of thing that had effort put into them while remembering that the primary target WAS comic book fans. Now everything looks, feels, and just sounds the same and I don't have any interest so yeah. I haven't seen a Marvel movie since Endgame and haven't feel anything about 'missing out'.
Dr. Strange was the turning point for me, up till that movie I watched every MCU movie in a theater. That movie was so bad, and I even really like Sam Raimi.
Sam Raimi was once again forced by Disney by making this movie. Pretty much the same like it did with Spider-Man 3. But he didn't care, just getting extra pennies into his pocket.
Heres my thing: let’s say this movie really is just a setup for kang, andd kang steals the show. His performance is amazing and he’ll be the big baddy in an avengers movie. But.. against who? Why would i want to see kang fight female teenage girl with a bow, female black panther, brie larson or replacment blonde widow? The new characters suck, so i dont care what happens

1. I don't know, because I've mostly avoided phase 4. I've only seen No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness. 2. Spider-Man: No Way Home, of course! 3. Not really. All of the best things about the MCU are gone now in one way or another. 4. The only phase 5 movies I can see being potentially notably good are Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Blade and Daredevil.

If phase 4 had more quality than quantity, maybe I'd be more optimistic. 4. Assuming if phase 4 was good. I would be looking foward to the Fantastic 4. But, now I don't want to see them.
They should have ended that MCU era after endgame. Then going forwards do the MC2 universe, the Spidergirl one, set some 25 to 30 years in the future. They could show how the world dealt with half the world dying/disappearing for 5 years and then coming back. Then they could have set up Mutants as a product of the Infinity stones being used three times warping reality. The heroes who battled Thanos noticed the changes, as a biproduct of being so close to Tony Stark using the stones, but everyone else is part of this new universe and think they have always had Mutants (easy way to add them, there always being Mutants in the MCU, while not making them feel too tacked on). Then set up the Fantastic Four as part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team from the 50's/60's that Hank Pym's Ant-Man was part of. The event that gave them their powers happened in the 60's, but sent them 90 years into the future (30 years after endgame). Sony could have done their Spiderman movies to end that era of movies while setting up the MC2
Why is Ant-Man on the poster at all? This is the M-SHE-U...someone probably got fired for that. I'm not interested in spending money on Disney's latest bait and switch.
I think Disney should look at what Gunn is doing with the DCEU. The DCEU was a mess and it needed to be put down, but the way Gunn does it is brilliant... creating a kind of What if-universe for the Batman- and Joker-movies made by Reeves and Phillips... releasing the four movies that have been made but using them as a transition into the new DCU... and giving the audience enough stuff to long for without doing too much. It helps Gunn that he has HBO for the small-screen-projects because HBO does not need the DCU-stories to survive, so there is no pressure to release series after series to give HBO something to show, Disney+ has to produce tons of series to have something to offer and that shows in the quality. It seems that Gunn will take his time and build up this world from kind of scratch and I think that is what an audience needs, time to see things evolve, time to take a breath between content, and time to build a longing for the next outing. I do not think the DCU will ever reach the levels the MCU reached with Infinity, DC is darker in the comics and it needs to stay darker in the movies but that will keep a part of the audience Marvel has out of the movie-seats. Gunn is smart enough not to wait too long with a Superman- and a Batmanmovie and smart enough not to do the origin-story again, replacing Wonder Woman with Supergirl is also a great idea, and when you give the audience Superman, Batman and Supergirl you can begin introducing other characters who are not that well known by the audience. Gunn says he puts quality and good writing above everything else, lets hope he keeps his word and keeps his eye on every project that goes out under his watch.

Ant man is my favorite marvel hero. Unfortunately, I can't see myself going to this. The whole " hes going to be a jerk who needs to be lectured" again, is just intolerable. I'm honestly just done after 50 years.
I'm honestly a little shocked anyone is surprised that the new Ant-man is a garbage burger with an extra serve of sewage sauce. The original Ant-Man was one of the first major forewarning signs of the M-She-U, with its titular hero being portrayed as an incompetent idiotic manchild who only got the job because Wasp's dad was too much of a stupid close-minded patriarch to realize how awesome his daughter was, and when he finally did her suit was far better than the Ant-Man suit in literally every way.
To be honest, I was burned out of super hero movies long before End Game, which I never saw. I choked down the very first five Marvel movies and realized that it was never going to stop, so there was no end point... so I just quit. I get enough out of reviews that I can understand what's happening in the break room at work, and that's enough for me. With the unending tidal wave of bad movies over the last decade, I've gone back to original entertainment... books.
@Chase Hedges67 There is a rare occurrence where producers manage to raise more money and, as such, can have some reshoots that make a scene better or shoot scenes to better flesh out the story. Although now that I think about it, I'm not sure that's happened in like 30 years. Also, it's not like that's ever the situation with Marvel/Disney.
'Antman into the Quantumverse of Madness' is a continuation of Disney Marvel pablum and MSheU. Phase 5 is in reality Phase 4.1. Hoping Guardians 3 will be a return to fun--but it'll likely be the only one.
I gave up on Marvel even before Endgame. I stopped giving Disney any money in 2015. The Last Jedi was the straw that broke the camel's back after a gradual shift from mediocre to bad products, into the new era of loathing and disdain for the one's who made them a modern entertainment empire. Marvel, even for some decent films in that time, were certainly a dead company walking if only for the fact that they are a wholely owned subsidiary of Disney. The cancer is too far along. Disney's day are numbered.

Phase 4 answered the question of if the MCU can continue after Endgame and it was a resounding no it couldn't. If Infinity War was The Empire Strikes Back then Endgame for better or worse was the Return Of The Jedi for the MCU. Sure you COULD in theory continue past it but not without some serious thought and planning and as we've seen none of that was done outside of "more diversity". Endgame wrapped up everything in a nice bow and both Far From and No Way Home are what I consider a two-part epilogue.
The reviews have to praise Majors’ portrayal. I’m sure his part is great. But the movie just has no buzz. And we know it’s just a setup film. It’s not a standalone movie.
Why shouldn't this be bad? Most of this phase has been bad and Dinky Disney is to Blame just like Star Wars. Someone Flush Disney StarWars and what's left of Marvel. I heard rumours that Disney may try to sell off Star Wars? Anyone hear any truth to this? Lucas to buy back at a discount?
As of right now, it's nothing more than an internet rumor, but my god would that be fucking glorious if it was true. Also, there'd be something genuinely poetic about Lucas buying it back and restoring it to its former glory. Personally, I would take the cannon all the way back to 2005. Don't get me wrong, there are great things in the Clone Wars, but there's also really really dumb things, and I'd argue the only things really worth saving are the stories involving Domino company and the non-main character Jedi.

Also easy, Miss Marvel. I liked the going back to somewhat street level. I did not end up liking the main plot and ending, but it was entertaining to watch. There was some believable character progression and interactions. 3. Do I have hope for MCU Phase 5? How can I, the double down on all of Phase 4 being cannon and if it is, that means Shang-Chi , She Hulk and Eternals are all cannon to the MCU now. And that means it is a broken incoherent mess. No logic, no consistancy, no stakes, no point to invest into. =========================== These corporations are like bad parants who screwed up so obviously the children can tell. But they will double down on being correct, because they are the parants. Doing so out of fear of losing a bit or respect and authority. Ironicly by doing so losing ALL respect and Authority. If only they'd acknowledge their screw ups, commit to doing better going forward and scrap the broken plot bloat in an official capacity, we could all move forward.

Since Marvel's phase 4 started, I haven't been looking forward to anything at all that they're doing. Too much toxicity towards my favorite characters, too little to like about the new ones, poorly written stories and dialog, painfully bad cgi. But what do I know, I'm just a colonizer, right?
I mean, I’m not surprised - there’ve been cracks in the foundations since we got past Endgame, and at this point they should probably look for how to slowly sunset the series. Y’know, after we already passed the best time to sunset the series… The movie’s likely just going to be Mid - a decent enough popcorn flick - but I think the magic’s gone.
I warned people years ago that the MCU is on a downward slippery slope with their overblown use of one liners, comedic dialogue that covers up for character development and no real "danger" in the individual movies, but the movie are just a set up for the real BIG movie event is going to eventually play out...and it has. Before Phase 4, Marvel movies were an event, cinemas would have midnight screenings and open at 7am which I loved going to after a night shift. They don’t have that pull anymore. I think it is more to do with the actual content and misguided delusion from the brand that putting a Marvel banner on it will get the money rolling in. Fans want to see their heroes act like heroes not some abstract vision from a wannabe auteur

Like what happened in Dr. Strange's 2nd movie, another sad tale of a likeable person, in a good character being wasted! Sounds like they just did what they have been doing for a while, but cranked to 11: focus on setting up the MCU phase rather than on making a good movie that happen to be part of a larger narrative... but at the same time they totally botched the start of the multiverse phase by having Doctor Strange, Spiderman, Loki, Antman and What if tacle it in different way that do not sync.
I was hoping for a slightly more serious Ant Man movie with bigger stakes. Was also looking forward to seeing Modok and Kang. Shame if this is as disappointing as Doctor Strange 2 and Thor 4.

I feel like it is too much of a jump to go from Thanos to Kang. You need a bunch of threats in the middle like Galactus and Secret Invasion.
Actually between Thanos and Kang should've been Doctor Doom.

Yeah I would skip Blade(due to all of the problems that Disney is having with it) and Daredevil as well(just watch She-Hulk and you will know why).

They should have ended that MCU era after endgame. Then going forwards do the MC2 universe, the Spidergirl one, set some 25 to 30 years in the future. They could show how the world dealt with half the world dying/disappearing for 5 years and then coming back. Then they could have set up Mutants as a product of the Infinity stones being used three times warping reality. The heroes who battled Thanos noticed the changes, as a biproduct of being so close to Tony Stark using the stones, but everyone else is part of this new universe and think they have always had Mutants (easy way to add them, there always being Mutants in the MCU, while not making them feel too tacked on). Then set up the Fantastic Four as part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team from the 50's/60's that Hank Pym's Ant-Man was part of. The event that gave them their powers happened in the 60's, but sent them 90 years into the future (30 years after endgame). Sony could have done their Spiderman movies to end that era of movies while setting up the MC2
Why is Ant-Man on the poster at all? This is the M-SHE-U...someone probably got fired for that. I'm not interested in spending money on Disney's latest bait and switch.
I think Disney should look at what Gunn is doing with the DCEU. The DCEU was a mess and it needed to be put down, but the way Gunn does it is brilliant... creating a kind of What if-universe for the Batman- and Joker-movies made by Reeves and Phillips... releasing the four movies that have been made but using them as a transition into the new DCU... and giving the audience enough stuff to long for without doing too much. It helps Gunn that he has HBO for the small-screen-projects because HBO does not need the DCU-stories to survive, so there is no pressure to release series after series to give HBO something to show, Disney+ has to produce tons of series to have something to offer and that shows in the quality. It seems that Gunn will take his time and build up this world from kind of scratch and I think that is what an audience needs, time to see things evolve, time to take a breath between content, and time to build a longing for the next outing. I do not think the DCU will ever reach the levels the MCU reached with Infinity, DC is darker in the comics and it needs to stay darker in the movies but that will keep a part of the audience Marvel has out of the movie-seats. Gunn is smart enough not to wait too long with a Superman- and a Batmanmovie and smart enough not to do the origin-story again, replacing Wonder Woman with Supergirl is also a great idea, and when you give the audience Superman, Batman and Supergirl you can begin introducing other characters who are not that well known by the audience. Gunn says he puts quality and good writing above everything else, lets hope he keeps his word and keeps his eye on every project that goes out under his watch.

Ant man is my favorite marvel hero. Unfortunately, I can't see myself going to this. The whole " hes going to be a jerk who needs to be lectured" again, is just intolerable. I'm honestly just done after 50 years.
I'm honestly a little shocked anyone is surprised that the new Ant-man is a garbage burger with an extra serve of sewage sauce. The original Ant-Man was one of the first major forewarning signs of the M-She-U, with its titular hero being portrayed as an incompetent idiotic manchild who only got the job because Wasp's dad was too much of a stupid close-minded patriarch to realize how awesome his daughter was, and when he finally did her suit was far better than the Ant-Man suit in literally every way.
I skipped phase 4 and will most likely skip 5 as well. They screwed the pooch, my wallet will remain closed 🖕.
To be honest, I was burned out of super hero movies long before End Game, which I never saw. I choked down the very first five Marvel movies and realized that it was never going to stop, so there was no end point... so I just quit. I get enough out of reviews that I can understand what's happening in the break room at work, and that's enough for me. With the unending tidal wave of bad movies over the last decade, I've gone back to original entertainment... books.
I can't wait to see Antman's daughter Cassie battle it out with Kang. It'll be epic!

I gave up on Marvel even before Endgame. I stopped giving Disney any money in 2015. The Last Jedi was the straw that broke the camel's back after a gradual shift from mediocre to bad products, into the new era of loathing and disdain for the one's who made them a modern entertainment empire. Marvel, even for some decent films in that time, were certainly a dead company walking if only for the fact that they are a wholely owned subsidiary of Disney. The cancer is too far along. Disney's day are numbered.

Phase 4 answered the question of if the MCU can continue after Endgame and it was a resounding no it couldn't. If Infinity War was The Empire Strikes Back then Endgame for better or worse was the Return Of The Jedi for the MCU. Sure you COULD in theory continue past it but not without some serious thought and planning and as we've seen none of that was done outside of "more diversity".
Endgame wrapped up everything in a nice bow and both Far From and No Way Home are what I consider a two-part epilogue.
Honestly Endgame wasn't good. It had massive inconsistencies and shat on a lot of the buildup and legacy of the main characters
I watched like an hour and said "why are all these characters I've enjoyed so unlikeable all of a sudden" and turned it off, never to finish.

As of right now, it's nothing more than an internet rumor, but my god would that be fucking glorious if it was true. Also, there'd be something genuinely poetic about Lucas buying it back and restoring it to its former glory.
Personally, I would take the cannon all the way back to 2005. Don't get me wrong, there are great things in the Clone Wars, but there's also really really dumb things, and I'd argue the only things really worth saving are the stories involving Domino company and the non-main character Jedi.

Since Marvel's phase 4 started, I haven't been looking forward to anything at all that they're doing. Too much toxicity towards my favorite characters, too little to like about the new ones, poorly written stories and dialog, painfully bad cgi.

Before Phase 4, Marvel movies were an event, cinemas would have midnight screenings and open at 7am which I loved going to after a night shift. They don’t have that pull anymore. I think it is more to do with the actual content and misguided delusion from the brand that putting a Marvel banner on it will get the money rolling in. Fans want to see their heroes act like heroes not some abstract vision from a wannabe auteur

Like what happened in Dr. Strange's 2nd movie, another sad tale of a likeable person, in a good character being wasted! I said it at the end of Endgame, walking out of the theater? when I was talking to others, and we all agreed, that Endgame for all intents and purposes would be the end of Marvel, and that going forward? Would only hurt the brand, and it looks like that is happening!

The Infinity Saga was the MCU and now phase 4 and beyond is the MWU(Marvel Woke Universe).
Sounds like they just did what they have been doing for a while, but cranked to 11: focus on setting up the MCU phase rather than on making a good movie that happen to be part of a larger narrative... but at the same time they totally botched the start of the multiverse phase by having Doctor Strange, Spiderman, Loki, Antman and What if tacle it in different way that do not sync.

Ant man is basically a joke super hero. Scraping the bottom...
